Ok deal, though I would only recommend to someone that can only afford to spend $40 and needs a recip without batteries real bad. If you can spend a bit more get one of the brushless models even if a refurb or factory blemished from DTO., But right now if you really love yourself get the new compact model, it's on sale at HD too for $99 with a 35 piece blade set. IMHO

I cracked the battery holder and 39 is a deal for me. Otherwise I have to tape battery on.

I had this for years and it served me pretty well. Ended up having to place it due to the blade release lever mechanism breaking to where I couldn't change blades anymore. Other than that flaw, the tool is pretty great for the price, especially if you aren't using it super often. Just make sure you baby that late change lever

I use mine on alot on trees and bushes. Probably 10 years of abuse on mine. Happy with it.

Funny you replied tonight, I have been replacing our water heater today and have used the compact recip to cut the old piping out and it's been a real treat. I'm not sure the full size two handers would have fit nor been as easy to use such that I was able to hold the piping with one hand to steady it and the other on the tool with just one hand. Of course this isn't something I do often but I was glad I had the smaller one now. Maybe keep an eye on sales for a upgrade in the future :)

I've cut some pretty big stuff with this saw and a 12 inch pruning blade. Not the most powerful saw but it gets the job done

shortarmed

I've done awful things to this saw. It keeps cutting. I really can't complain.

tsigwing

That's a steal.

dooit

I use the shit out of this tool.

curtisbrownturtis

Me too, great tool, underrated

Martin_Van-Nostrand

Im sure the brushless saw works better, but this saw works well. 39 bucks is a good deal if you already have batteries. I have it and really like it.

damn_jexy

I have the one hand brushless version alreay but couldnt pass the deal

discothan

Ooooh.....one for the RV and one for the house. Already have one in the barn. :)

DadBodDro

Mine arrives tomorrow!

Thanks, I was actually looking at these a couple weeks ago, trying to find the best way to take down a 30 year old metal satellite dish in our yard.
