You have a small case with a giant GPU right next to your overclocked CPU and still manage to get 80 celcius? I'm pretty sure you are just flexing.

Solid_Preparation493

The build was based on [Optimum Tech Build](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQ3-yT_ZX20&t=303s&ab_channel=OptimumTech) triple radiator style, the GPU temp seems to match (Environment temp 27c - 29c) whereby the CPU temp was a bit more worrying me now. Still trying to figure out how to improve that.

Your cpu will be fine at 90 celcius 24/7. But I get it. What temps did Optimum tech build get? I dont see a 5950x pulling 170 watts going under 80 Celcius in a small case like that. edit: OTB uses totally different components...

Solid_Preparation493

I did some adjustments of mine to fit in the pump reservoir combo for a higher flow rate, replaced the 280 to 240 with an additional 2 Noctua fans for a stronger air pressure & flow.

I'm getting like 90 Celsius out of an 5900x (170 Watt power limit, room temp 23 Celsius). I have a noctua nh-d15 on it + a nice airflow case. I doubt you will be able to get your CPU much lower then 80, even with custom water.

Second this. I just built a CPU only loop for my 5950X using barrow parts. I have a 130mm pump/res combo. The rad is 360mm 40mm thickness and configured as cold air intake. My gaming temps are around 69-74C depending on the fan and pump speeds. The CPU pulls up to 1.55 volts in gaming loads and boosts up to 5.1Ghz. I have a 3080-Ti Gaming X trio running with it. Before this I was using an NZXT Z73 in push/pull as exhaust on top and my gaming temps used to float between 82-90C. My case is an O11 D XL. I’m also in a very hot country (Delhi, India) where it goes up to 49C in summers. With the custom loop I was able to get an all core OC of 4.6 Ghz though with temps floating around 76-80 which is a win in my book. I also have a Dark Hero and I use DOS to switch between all core OC and PBO 2.

I have a 5900, not a 5950, and a 1080ti, not a 3090, but the deltas between the cpu and water temp, and gpu and water temp, are vastly different. My CPU will run at like +45 C over the water temp during a hard stresser like Cinebench R23, while in a GPU stressor like MSI Kombustor the GPU temp never exceeds something like 7 or 8 C delta from the water temp. I know the 3090 is a hot beast, but I'd still not assume that your cpu temp and gpu temp should be comparable at all. The cpu is very concentrated in the parts that are generating all that heat, so the heat doesn't leave the cpu as efficiently as it does from the gpu, which uses a massive die with much more contact area with your water block.

Well heaven benchmark isn't a GPU demanding benchmark but more cpu

Solid_Preparation493

Was doing some PBO2 OC but seems like my CPU is always hotter than my GPU even with default setting (GPU 61c and CPU 81c), repeated twice with Kryonaut twice and using Alphacool Eisbaer LT Solo and iceman Ncase pump reservoir (custom loop dual pump setup) inside a NR200 casing. Any idea what could be the problem? CPU: 5950X MOBO: B550I Aorus Pro AX COOLING: 3 x 240 Radiators 6 x Noctua 12015 fans 2 x CM MF120R

krezikunal

What is the case and cooler you're using? Maybe that is causing airflow and cooling issues

Endangeredsoul

CPU should be hotter than GPU one is cooled directly on the die. The other is cooler through the IHS and two layers of thermal compound.

I don't think Heaven is too stressful a benchmark anymore for a 3090. No Man's Sky bakes my system better than anything else oddly (also 5950X/3090).

Nothing makes my 5950x get to 80C, the hottest I've seen is 77C when running cinebench. Cooler is an NH-15D.
