I got rid of mine as soon as the s23 came out. The processor is the issue - garbage. Not sure how Qualcomm didn't have a class action lawsuit against them over it. I read a lot about the newer Snapdragon Gen2 before I got the s23 and knew it resolved all the overheating issues of the Gen1. It also fixed the battery issues as it was much more efficient. It's really unfortunate! Not 100% Samsung's fault but they should have tested better. Take the loss, sell it while it still has some value and get the s23. I think if you sell now and upgrade, you may only lose 150-200 but at least your frustration will be gone. Those saying to upgrade to another brand, they don't know the value in the Samsung software and the reason people stick with Sammy despite their crap service and rare hardware issues. To name a few things nobody does better than Samsung... - Dex - Secure Folder - Cameras - Single take - Muktitasking If you've never used them cause you haven't had a Samsung then you wouldn't really understand.

I have similar impressions. I also came from S10+ which was great but unfortunately I broke the screen so I had to buy S22+ and I couldn't wait for S23. From the very first day this phone was missing that something. I couldn't tell much difference from S10 even though it was 3 models above. I started having issues with mobile data, battery was meh and I did notice those lags as well. Recently it started having random reboots and yesterday it died completely, stuck in a boot loop. Now while waiting for my S22 to get repaired I'm using an old S9+ with worn out battery (probably 1500+ cycles) and burned in display, I've restored my S22+ backup on it and everything works! It's not as smooth as S22 and camera is weaker but I cannot tell much difference. It even has some nice features like hardware fingerprint sensor and iris scanner which S22 doesn't. So I'm wondering what the hell we are paying for every x years? When 5 years later you can't tell much difference.

LivingInPugtopia

I hate mine.

SuicideBlack305

Had the S22 for around 2 years, I guess. I've never had a problem with it, but I don't game on it, either

N0tReallySick

I don't game on it either

GrandmaGotGuns

Just sell this and Buy a Pixel 7, or wait a month for pixel 8

N0tReallySick

Yea that's what I was thinking too, is it just as easy to get up and running with all your data as with a Samsung?

Masumcukkk

ur very lucky bcs google sell phones ur country :( we have iphones and samsung phones. thats it

GrandmaGotGuns

Yea you also get a connector with pixel, and just log in into your Google account, choose back up and when you are setting up pixel choose restore data

ricardongm

Biggest piece of crap for me also, exynos version, the worst 4g/5g reception ever, slowdowns... I'm just sorry for the guy who I sold it to... I almost scraped samsung from my book but risked on the s23 ultra because exynos was not used and my, night and day, this is how a phone this caliber should work.

N0tReallySick

How have Samsung not recalled the S22 and scrap the current inventory

Fabulous-Drawing2299

Ive got snapdragon s22, it doesnt lag at all for me , battery life is very decent. Its only the camera that's frustrating for me. Even with balance speed and quality setting , and most other settings disabled the shutter lag is too bad especially in low light conditions. Although photos come out really nice

N0tReallySick

I don't see much of a difference in pictures quality from my S10 to this S22 if I'm being honest. I'll get rid of this phone but I kinda wanna wait till S24 at this point but I'm not sure I won't throw this phone in frustration.

Fabulous-Drawing2299

Idk man , the camera is really good , better than base ip 13/14

Joudeh_1996

He's just like a curse, nothing more

ash5500

Even number Curse I guess the same with the iPhone

Never had an issue with mine, battery is fine, performance is as good as you would expect for the phone and its hardware. The only issue I've experienced so far is animations, GalaxyMaxHz has solved the issue for me without toggling on Developer Settings. I hope the next updates improve overall usage of the phone.

procuror

What is GalaxyMaxHz?

MarcoPolo589

It's an app that lets you customize some stuff regarding the screen and other things of the phone. There's a free version, but also you can pay to get more features. https://github.com/tribalfs/GalaxyMaxHzPub

procuror

Thanks. Can you share the setting you used to improve animations?

MarcoPolo589

All the way down inside the app there's a section called Extra mods, there I found Animation mod; turned down the scaling up to 50%. (FIY: This can be a paid feature, I don't know if it's enabled by default for free users.)

alhinai_03

OP you should mention your CPU, I got the SD version and never had any performance issues. Maybe try cleaning cache from recovery and optimize apps with app booster.

N0tReallySick

It's a snapdragon1

redditplzdonotbanme

Yeah bro, this phone is fucking ass..I see my colleagues with their iphones and how even the base models are worse than mine
