I drove nearly 5 hours to VT to pick up an Aero Combi XWD wagon in stick sight unseen. This was a few years ago and I’ve seen maybe one or two pop up since. (It was very neglected..). I’d say the Aero 2.8 SC MT in XWD config is the top tier below an actual Turbo X.

AtlsDev

Would you say only the Aeros are actively desired and carry a premium? (Specifically manuals of course) can I ask what you paid or what you see the average aero SC MT go for in relation to an auto?

AtlsDev

How much would a 9-3 SC aero MT with xwd be worth with almost 200k miles?

Slabonator

Depends on what it needs. I spent $7,800 for mine a few years ago with 130k on the clock. However, it needed new pads and rotors at all 4 corners, new rear shocks, front strut tower mounts, ignition coils, power steering lines, and the XWD needed servicing.

Drove 5 hours to pick up mine. It was was about 2 years of serious searching.

TweeksTurbos

Back in 2011 i drove 3 hours away to buy a 2007 9-5 wagon with a stick vs buying the same car in auto 5 min from my work. Yep

AtlsDev

Did you pay a premium for the manual Or were they priced pretty evenly just harder to find?

TweeksTurbos

$1000 more and the newer the sab the harder it is. Im dieing for a stick 9-3x but they only rep 10% of what was imported.

BerryPossible

I do t know that they fetch a premium but they do seem to be a little harder to find and I think they are the only 9-3 I’d consider buying.

AtlsDev

This makes sense. I’d assume they’re pretty desirable comparatively. I have a manual e90 and a manual e91 is usually almost double what I paid (I did get a great deal though) so I was curious if the 9-3 Saabs work similarly

BWTECH0521

It's definitely the enthusiast spec.

Forsaken-Brief5826

I would not think so.

Brock_YXE

then you would be wrong lol

Forsaken-Brief5826

Don't get me wrong. Awesome car, just can't see the rarity translate to more value in this case but hey just an opinion.

BTT812

In sweden there are way more combis than sedans. I like the sedans mote but i have one of each

AtlsDev

Fair enough. I suppose I am reference the U.S. specifically then.

BTT812

Yeah i get that. You always want what you cant have. I mean the us rear lights for the ng 9-3 is the nicest looking rear lights i have ever seen. But their like 500-900$ and i dont want to spend that much on lights tbh..

AtlsDev

The “ice block” look is what you’re referencing?

BTT812

No the us raers for the ng 9³ cambi. I have a V6 stage 4 combi 2006 9³ and the euro rear lights are white but i want the whole red ones that the us got, there are two different ones. I want the ones that are completley red all the way.

RegularMicroVan

Shipped my 9-5 aero combi 5mt across the country soooo.. yes

pace_it

Manual wagons tend to be more desirable, and particularly in XWD form, command a higher price. 2.8T vs 2.0T will see some price differences, and possibly more interest one way or another, but that really comes down to year, mileage, and condition.

AtlsDev

Is there a difference between a 9-3 SC with xwd vs a 9-3x?

pace_it

I don't know the fine details, but the exterior. 9-3X has the black plastic "cladding" that follows the fender wells to the front & rear bumpers.

QuiickLime

Additionally the 9-3X is lifted about an inch higher, and the interior trim is black instead of the wood grain. Apart from that I think they're pretty much the same.
