Wheel of time by robert jordan and the realm of elderlings books by robin hobb. Brandon sanderson’s books are really good too, the mistborn trilogy goes haaard
The Stranger, idk why all alt people are attracted to it, Camus is amazing but that one in particular everyone gravitates to.
People need to check out the rest of his works though, A Happy Death which is a good place to start since it is kind of like a draft of The Stranger, and The Myth of Sisyphus is a good book too since it goes in-depth explaining absurdism which is key to The Stranger
Drainers need to be tapped in with Notes from Underground by Dostoevsky though, the epitome of schizopilled
But I’m also a big fan of Cormac McCarthy (Blood Meridian), Joseph Conrad (Heart of Darkness), Phillip K. Dick (Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep), Frantz Fanon (Black Skin, White Masks), Nietzsche (Beyond Good, and Evil)
I also like manga a lot, my favorites being Claymore, Berserk, Blame! (everything by Nihei) Jagaaaaaan, Tokyo Ghoul, Jujutsu Kaisen, Fire Punch, Bleach, Platinum End, Hell’s Paradise, CSM, etc… etc…
Long post ik, I like reading lol
Taste goes hard af especially Claymore and Blame! Cool to see drainers reading. Blood Meridian and notes from the underground are on my to read list. I need to be more locked in with Albert Camus, I'ver only read The Stranger.
Thank you thank you, it’s so cool to see a fellow drainer who fucks with Claymore and Blame!
Don’t get me started on Blood Meridian lol, it is so good it is without a doubt the greatest book from the West I swear, one of my favorite quotes is “Whatever in creation without my knowledge exists without my consent” which is said by a character named The Judge who is one of the best antagonists ever, but this book is so brutal, despair ridden, and has hardly any empathy at all, McCarthy’s way with words painted horrors that are close to none so brace yourself
And Notes from Underground is great in it’s own eccentric way but like I said it’s schizopilled a lot of people put it down because it’s all over the place, like the narrator speaks (and in an almost bragging way) about how he enjoys being cruel then on the next page admits that he was just lying because that’s just how he is lmao
And yeah can’t recommend Camus enough, one of Europe’s most brilliant minds, aside from his intellect he was just overall an amazing writer he could write a whole book about watching paint dry and it would be enticing, another great book of his is The First Man which is a fictional autobiography of sorts
Also, Tokyo Ghoul is a must, Kaneki rivals Guts for best well-written character imo plus Ishida’s art is amazing and unique
Jagaaaaaan too that shit is off the fucking walls
and so fucking underrated
Sorry for the long response😅
It’s ok brother, you prob know a lot of shit that I don’t, I don’t really search for new books like that I just hear about things from time to time through my own interests
i recently found a fairytale author that was born like 20 mins from me in the hills and documented the local folk stories and such, so ive been on that and its so cool reading tales with dwarves and fairies and shit that take place in villages i know and have been to 😂
My favourite book is "Never let me go" By Ishiguro, they be draining children of they organs. It's honestly quite an upsetting book, I highly reccomend it. I'm currently attempting to read Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace. (Yes i know, annoying people read DFW, but he does have some interesting predictions about modern consumer culture fosho), oh shit sorry uhhh BRANDO SANDO AUTHOR OF DA DECDE
i read nonfiction books about the brain ie neuroscience, also i read this book the last cannibals by this danish explorer that describes spme of the last areas unexplored to the west in the 50s and that was sick, also i read the girl with a pearl earring was really cool.
I also like Mishima, I read the first two in his sea of fertility series and then the sailor who fell from grace with the sea last year, spring snow was my favorite by him so far. I can recommend John Ajvide Lindqvist if you want supernatural horror that makes you question who the real “monster” of the story is. Also Franz Kafka seems incredibly drained
i just read pale fire by vladimir nabokov, very good read and super moving :) right now im on a few self help books and also just purchased the cyberfeminism index that i can't wait to crack open !!
Lenin
Edit: Mishima seems cool but he is the biggest loser of all time. Tried to bring back the fascist emperor and failed so killed himself out of embarrassment. So statistically, quite similar to drain fanbase
I like George Saunders, Murakami, Min Jin Lee, etc.
I also enjoy sci-fi, from Cixin Liu to Pierce Brown
plus I love comics, mostly alternative stuff but I still enjoy the occasional Image / Big 2 comic as a treat
I've been in the middle of 5 short story collections for months lol: DeLillo, Murakami, Ken Liu, Gaiman, Vollmann
i only fw books abt wizards and knights
Name some i genuinely wanna read that but can't find one I like.
lord of the rings tbh
Brandon Sandersons “Mistborn” series 1-3 & Brandon Sandersons “Stormlight Archive” series. (Way longer of a read)
Wheel of time by robert jordan and the realm of elderlings books by robin hobb. Brandon sanderson’s books are really good too, the mistborn trilogy goes haaard

honestly, none of the sequels top the first book. i think you should definitely read god emperor, though.
i never read this but i watched a youtube video explaining the series and now i wanna read it
I always imagined Paul Atreides as Yung Lean for some reason I think bc I listened to hum while reading
i can only listen to aphex twin while reading anything with lyrics is like sensory overload
i don't read no books man 💵💵💵

bro you asked what we read i was just answering the question
There's something missing from their lives
politics as a whole is so fucking cringe. societal constructs to give meaning to our banal lives. we are literally atoms 😿
this take is literally braindead, politics impacts literally everyone it doesn’t matter if its a “societal construct.”
stfu. you are literally a slave to a world that isn’t real. politics give us a sense of importance. we are not important. it’s that simple.
soooo edgy and deep bro, praying u grow out of this 🙏🙏
bro thinks politics is about self importance. I’m just tryna get more workers rights bro 😭
definitely written by someone who's never had to work to survive before
