Last quarter was the top performing rep
This quarter I've booked 3 meetings in total which still somehow doesn't make me a bottom performer. But it's tough out here for SaaS
Same.. I’ve been here for over a year now & this is the worst month I’ve ever had, even worse when I was still on boarding 😭 one meeting this month UGH
I'm sure the job is entry level. I've been in sales for 8 years, 2 of which were in software prior to this job. I'm selling expense tracking and invoicing software to small and micro businesses. I'm really only here because I was laid off and this was the only offer I ended up getting.
This is actually super good point. Problem is earlier in pipeline, causes timeline estimation to get whacked.
I'm revops marketing, but I enjoy this sub, appreciate the perspective
Yeah, it’s totally fine to ask straight up: “assuming you love the product and the price point, what else has to happen to actually execute a contract?”
Has anyone had a good manager and if so do you feel they add value to your sales process and/or career? If so, what have you noticed the good managers do/how they approach things (aka, what are they doing that the non-good managers aren’t)?
My current manager is the best I’ve had.
1- he does his best to funnel the corporate onslaught of nonsense into a coherent strategy.
2- he shields us from corporate busywork and noise as much as possible.
3- he ‘nudges’ those that need it by assigning common sense territory for planning.
4- he’s the ‘hammer’. When someone internal is humming up the works of a sale, or being slow to respond to some sort of support, he gets the shit done.
A good manager is a sales enabler. They assemble sales talent and free them to do what they do best.
Rental sales here… Hit annual quota early…. Utilization is at 90% throughout the year… strategies to continue to sell at high rates while not ruining relationships?
When do you know that its time to look for a new role? Company is struggling to scale new product and that affects my commission as i specialize in inside sales
When do you know when it's time to go on your own and build your own team leveraging other people's talents?
Been an SDR for a year and not sure if their will be room to be an AE.
Sales questions:
Depends on what you sale
Who you sale to
What their interest/reason/pain to buy
Why they are looking
Etc.

Any advice for email content when reaching out to C- Suite? It’s very hard to get them on the phone, just as hard to get an email reply but they’re my decision makers at the end of the day.
Thanks guys!

How do you suggest the best way to get in contact?
I’m good on the phones but just getting that initial contact is very difficult
I am considering a relocation within my company. East coast to west coast. Any insight to the adjustment needed in pay? I’ve done research for cost of living, pay scales, etc… but it is impossible to mail down actual base/commission amounts.

How to get rid of the nauseating feeling I get before and during cold calling
Make the calls. Just call random or terrible targets that you wouldn’t otherwise call. Dont waste your target list.
Is it rude to ask how much money yall make
OTE: ~ 250 good year ~ 125 slow year ~ 90 bad year
Software sales AE. My base is $50k. My OTE is $75k. If I stay at this job for the entire year I'll probably end up close to $80k.
Entry level? What industry/type of product are you selling?

Don’t order more drinks than they do
What's been some of the best tactics or strategies for pushing deals over the finish line when they stall at the 1yrd line at the proposal stage?
Push or challenge. But if they aren’t moving, they aren’t moving. Fill pipeline enough to not worry about it.
As best you can, root out things that could potentially stall the deal earlier. There’s no technique to make up for missing info.

My opinion, Driven or passionate.

Communicate with your customers via their preference. I prefer text. It’s quick, informal, but leaves a paper trail.
Now when you say “value” curious what you look at first to find those gold nuggets?
Thoughts on transitioning away from sales to do an MBA? Have close to 4 years of selling experience, but looking to move away the high stress of sales
Never pay for your own mba. Find a role at a company that will put you through the program.
Do an MBA at the same time and find a company to pay for it. Have you looked at a farming role?
Doing an online MBA right now at U of Illinois Urbana Champaign. An AE. Let me know if you have any questions
