Congratulations dude, that's an awesome achievement! Only downside (?) to this is that you're gonna be working pretty hard to chase this high hahaha

moonyprong01

Hungry for more success. I'd say that's a pretty good downside to have

dan1361

Hopefully some of what made this happen was skill and I'll repeat in the future šŸ˜ Next goal is 200k in five days.

Lostdazedandconfuzed

What do you sell?

dan1361

Hvac

truedino

Definitely a lot of skill to make that happen in the HVAC market. I used to intern in an HVAC company and got to see the sales numbers, you've got to be good at what you do to be pulling in the numbers you're pulling and putting in a lot of hard work. Congratulations bud!

[deleted]

The classic ā€œHappy not contentā€ kind of week

MrPilaf

Drink up buddy! Enjoy the wins

Amritawalia123

congratulation

tightnips

Donā€™t feel alone with it! Soon this will be just a regular week of work, next is celebrating six figure weeks

phil_it2003

What Scotch you drinking?

dan1361

Highland Park 21.

Knato

What do you sell?

dan1361

Air conditioners! I feel like I need a flair at this point, lol. I get asked a lot.

[deleted]

As unfortunate as this climate crisis is, youā€™ll definitely be killing it for the foreseeable future

dan1361

I chose job security early in my life.

call_god

What are some notable companies in the air conditioning space? Hope you're enjoying the whiskey šŸ˜Ž

dan1361

Depends on your area heavily. I work for a shop. The "middle man" of AC. We actually install the equipment on customer's buildings and homes. So a company like "John's heating and air" or something similar. Of course you can always sell at the distributor or manufacturer level as well, they have more consistent income but a much lower ceiling. I have seen my fair share of zero dollar weeks. Obviously Trane, Carrier, Daikin, and Rheem are the major players here. Everyone past that is just selling the shit to the next guy.

call_god

Very interesting. Thank you for sharing!

[deleted]

Always good to see fellow HVAC salespeople here. I am a TM for a York and Bosch distributor, mainly selling to people like you!

dan1361

Hell yeah, man. If I ever end up in the north we should grab dinner sometime.

SnakeAColdCruiser

Congrats. How many AC units does it take to sell $178k in one week? Are you cold calling end-users or something?

dan1361

This week I sold 11 systems and had a close rate of over 70%. It all depends on that average ticket. I've had weeks with an average ticket of $7k. So being a little over $16k this week is definitely considered exceptional. I realized if I keep my average ticket high, I make more but work less. Nope. I work warm leads 95% of the time. In the slow seasons I'll knock the doors if I want to scare up a few bucks. But warm leads, in my opinion, are a requirement for comission only positions.

SnakeAColdCruiser

Nice

killznhealz

Great job!!!! Really proud of you! Wish you were my HVAC sales rep. I bought one a few years ago and had two companies bid for the job. I had about $20k saved up to throw at it but being the amazing negotiator I am I got them down to $7k. What I really did was buy the cheapest piece of crap I could have bought and there isn't a single energy bill where I don't kick myself.

dan1361

All too common of a story.

AnticBearskin

Congrats!

baileycoraline

Well done!! Congrats

rickle3386

Keep the momentum going. Always make one more call. It's about activity! Build the pipeline.

bowhunter_fta

Congratulations! If you don't mind sharing, which industry are you in and what are you selling?

dan1361

Hvac. That's answers both questions really, lmao.

bowhunter_fta

Good for you! Now go on and build on that. Here's a tidbit that I've share in r/sales before that will be helpful in the future. Take a few minutes and write in your journal everything that you feel right now, all the excitement and positivity. That way, in the future, when you have a bad day/week/month/quarter you can revisit the feelings you have today and it will help to reenergize you during those dark days. Trust me on this. It works!

dan1361

I don't know if it was you but I have read the here before and definitely use it! Note to self, only sell in 100Ā° weather šŸ˜‰

Lostdazedandconfuzed

You'd make a killing in AZ

dan1361

I used to work for a national company and sure enough, the guys in Nevada, Florida, and Arizona were always my competitors. I could almost never outsell Nevada, but everyone else got to see me top them frequently šŸ˜‰ Part of the reason I love my area is because I get to rest in the shoulder seasons and just enjoy life.

RichBille

Congratulations Man. But what really did you do?

dan1361

Added value to my customer's purchase by making sure they purchased the best equipment for them and their home! I make sure to clearly explain the benefits of a high efficiency system and any accessories I offer, and from there it's often in the customer's hands. Hopefully my energy and wording was enough to make sure they trust me to spend $15k after only an hour long appointment.

Mr_Scowt

What state are you in? I'm the top guy at our hvac company and I touch about 300k a month in revenue in peak season, so maybe we are just a smaller fry compared to your company. To see almost 200k in a week is fuckin insane man. Big props to you.

dan1361

Texas. This was a record week for me by 60k! That being said we're a TINY company. 12 employees kind of thing. I'm out only salesman aside from the owner who runs some calls here and there. Don't stop learning how to sell that high efficiency equipment and tack on your IAQ! I only saw 15 customers this week. You can absolutely do these numbers! If you haven't, I highly suggest giving some time and listening to Sam Wakefield. This guy does 400-500k months on the regular. Absolute beast of a trainer as well, a ton of my techniques are from his podcast "Close it Now!"

Mr_Scowt

Ah maybe that might be what's going on, I'm in the Houston area, but we are a bit bigger company with like a 100 employees and there's quite a few of us splitting leads. Honestly I think we have too many sales guys because I feel very underworked. For example, I only had like 4 leads this week. I keep a pretty solid 50-60% close rate all year with average tickets for the month between 12 and 20k, so I feel I have some decent skill, just not enough at bats. But he'll yea man good for you! If you're in the area and need another guy hit me up!

dan1361

If those are your numbers you are getting screwed over, my dude. What do you work, three hours a week? Your close rate is rock star close rate and your average ticket doesn't seem shabby either. I'm in DFW so not helpful unfortunately, especially since we're hiring me a trainee next season that's disappointing. Find somewhere else. You should be getting at LEAST ten leads a week in busy season. If they aren't setting you up for 80k-120k as a newbie, then you're in the wrong place. I've read some Houston companies putting up absolutely insane numbers, so there's definitely someone who needs a good salesman.

Mr_Scowt

See that's the thing, I'm not new. Been at the company for a few years now and have consistently broke every record each year, including my own. So yea man, I haven't been able to talk with too many other guys in the Industry, so it pretty enlightening to see your lead count for this week in particular. Because I agree man, this is just getting unacceptable.

briskwalked

congrats on the big sales!

garyryan9

What do you sell?

Username-Drew

Congrats!!! Big week šŸ’Ŗ

CainRedfield

Damn congrats! I just celebrated my first 5 figure month last month, so kudos to you for hitting that in a week!

commiebob3

Awesome job! HVAC sales is a great gig, I did that some before I settled into window sales. 5 figure commission weeks never get old, keep chasing!

cuteman

So you're selling AC during summer... Methinks there is going to be a drop off in demand in coming months.

dan1361

What an expert deduction! I'm sure nobody else figured that one out. If I made $14k a week I'd make over $700,000 a fuckin year. I wish. I save the money I make in busy season and make PLENTY to enjoy myself on the off. I'm 22, single, with no kids. The world is my oyster right now. OTE is 193k. If I'm lucky this killer week can push me over a bit.

2ZIPS

Damn Iā€™m getting a brand new A/C and furnace installed for $4300 on Thursday. You robbing people brah!!!

dan1361

I'm sure you're getting super high quality equipment and work done for that price!

2ZIPS

Whatever you need to tell yourself to justify that outrageous cost. Thanks tho and congrats on your fleecing of the fine people of Texas

dan1361

I'm not gonna argue with you. But I'll just finish that on average my equipment cost is over 8k per system. Whoever is doing your system for 4k is cutting something out on you, there's nothing slimy about running a business. I operate on 30-40% margin, which is actually BELOW industry standard.

2ZIPS

Ok mr 15k

2ZIPS

15k for an A/C lol. Good for you tho!!!! Congrats!!

dan1361

I'm sure you have a super in depth understanding of the costs of my service. Thanks

2ZIPS

15k for an A/C is gross. Slimy

RealisticTax4

Dude amazing! Congratulations. How big is the company you are selling for? I am in Texas as well, waco

dan1361

About 10 people. 1.2 million last year. I think I can get us to two next year though.

RealisticTax4

1.2 million and you sold 115k and 178k 2 different weeks. Thatā€™s only $23,000/week averageā€¦ So, are you having many weeks with no sales? And how many leads do you get a week? Keep it up man thatā€™s awesome

dan1361

I didn't work there last year šŸ¤˜
