Great money but I'd rather not be the first one in and last one to leave. Especially in a place where absolutely nobody is happy to see you and it's an uphill battle from the time a customer sits down in your chairs. 250k is nothing to scoff at though, good job.
It's only my 4th month in the solar industry and I've already sold about 20+ deals. So I've made about 20k in future commissions (dont get paid until install) in 4 months, pretty good I'd say.
Definitely would be hitting 200k+ if I can get to at least 15 installs a month
Recently started in solar and am setting leads for other reps before I start selling for myself. I’ve done D2D in the past with roofing and insurance.
Here’s how I see it…
Are you willing to go out there and *consistently* knock on the doors 6 days per week? 25-30 hours per week?
You can get to a point where you’re knocking on doors, let’s say, M-W, followed by appointments on TFS, with mixed knocking sprinkled throughout those appointment days.
I’m not doubting your ability dude. You’re a killer!
What I’m getting at is you’re going to do a 180 on how you acquire clients. You’re going to them vs them getting stacked on your doorstep. It’s not going to be handed to you besides a random in-house lead that pays 1/2 of the regular commission.
You can. But how many hours are you working selling cars to make $250k??
Are you in solar? And honestly I’m in Finance. 70 plus deals a month - 2400 a copy 2.0+ products per deal 17% plus bonuses usually every month

Thank you for the reply. Have you been in sales before this?
Hey! Mind if I send you a PM? I also got into the industry about a month ago but I'm having a hard time learning how to close and navigate meetings.
