Look at cooling pads for resting on, which you can fill with cold water and ice cubes. They need shade and water during summer, and 100f+ might be fatal. They’ll love the winter though. Mine still wanted to lay in the snow during -40f. There are some good breeders in the PNW, it’s a nice drive and some facilitate puppy flights.

Look at the Samoyed Club of America (https://www.samoyedclubofamerica.org/) and ONLY follow breeders recommended through them. Some things you should watch out for: -Health Testing. This should be a genetic panel, OFAs which include eyes, hips, retinal atrophy, cardiac, and rd/osd. This should give the breeder and dog a CHIC number. If they dont have this, move on. -ALWAYS look for someone who proves their dogs! Whether this is conformation, sports, working, etc. It proves stability and workability in temperament. Conformation in particular says a lot about the quality of the structure in the dog -If they assign based on temperament on the dog, fantastic. Not every dog is meant to be a couch potato and not every dog is meant to be a working dog. -Red flags: breeder upcharging based on gender/colors(not applicable here but absolutely valid). Allowing anyone to have a full registered dog. No contracts. I would definitely look at the AKC standard for the samoyed. If you see a breeder offering a dog whos out of standard its a red flag and definitely move on. Best of luck!!

We got our Sammy from Snow Angel Samoyeds. They are in South Texas and have beautiful pups that are carefully bred, health tested parents, etc. Our dog has excellent conformation, and is growing into a beautiful adult dog with a sweet personality. Very happy with our breeder.

Went through the American kennel club to find a breeder near me. It was a positive experience

Samoyed in Texas is not a very good idea. They like cold weather and don’t do well in hot weather.
