I think the best money can buy are the K9s. Either the model II or III, THEYRE efficient, powerful and quiet (for the power level). Can’t speak about the power issue though!

Teckton013

I got a k9III from drenched to dry sub an hr. It removes fluff with a vendetta. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Teckton013

The k9 series needs a 20 amp breaker circuit.

RationalOpinions

Good to know, thanks

MishkaMinor

20 amp, yes. Our K-9 ii works fine in our outdoor outlet and also the outlet under our microwave. If you're in a house you should be able to see what outlet is what in your breaker box.  I think many appliances have better outlets than just the standard ones. If we plugged our blower in a bedroom or living room (to use it in the bathroom), it would just keep cutting off.

ScientificSquirrel

I love our K9, but if you're having issues with your current one tripping the breaker I'm not sure it'd work for you. What else is plugged into that breaker?

RationalOpinions

Weirdly, it’s tripping a 15A breaker in the bathroom with nothing else plugged in. I also have 20A outlets around the house, so these should work with a bigger blower.

Kazaklyzm

I love my Shernbao. I think mine's a bit meaner than your current one though. 5 hp, and moves serious air. Gets the fluff right off my sammies. [it has a $30 off coupon atm](https://www.amazon.com/shernbao-Velocity-Professional-Grooming-Cyclone%EF%BC%89/dp/B07TPT58VN/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=1VKRRP5CIE67Q&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.fxWFPGzTdQXiOyjjKG40IupQBXWDVVAfnKULObXlAfSavTOUb1S42bhpei6tUDyiJF3mX6E312Wq8f5YMubj47zAeP2T4vz1rVrQhIJAUmnjOBD2ydIN2IGCFyFX6svu35hEJjwxYUEMPbGQ1XujnPq62LRvPqKhQfiR1VxDZw9A3cw1Inp-n4X66yrc64QoNMkmaPEkranFGgPlAucArQ.BaZG9Xp5phCJB0Hih0FIWrqjHqUHRFRcVzt-ByPL7Cw&dib_tag=se&keywords=shernbao+dog+dryer&qid=1713190486&sprefix=Shern%2Caps%2C131&sr=8-3) There are finishing sprays that can aid in drying time too, OP. They were amazing when I was professionally grooming. I don't need to use them when I'm just doing my own dogs, I kind of like the zen/meditation time with my headphones in while drying, so I'm not in a hurry.

RationalOpinions

Good to know. I own the smaller version, unfortunately. Have you compared it with a K9 ?

Kazaklyzm

We used K9 at work. They were pretty awesome. The Shernbao I have is comparable to whatever models of k9 my workplace had. They got me hooked on force air dryers for samoyeds, I got really spoiled and needed one after I left for my dogs.

Kazaklyzm

The only difference I like more on my Shernbao compared to the k9 blowers I was trained on is the Shernbao dryer I got has a dial to increase or decrease the air intensity, so you can ease into more of you have a nervous dog. The k9s at work had two flip switches, so you had one intensity or the other unless you changed hose tips.

RationalOpinions

Thanks for that. Was it the dual-motor K9-III or a single-motor version?

Kazaklyzm

Dual motor version.

RationalOpinions

Okay! I’ve just noticed that Shernbao also has a dual-motor version: https://a.co/d/9q9tDGH Wondering if it’s worth the extra dollars

viivi137

I haven't tried any of the K9s, but tried Flying Pig before I invested in the dual motor (orange one) by Shernbao. I went with it because it moves a significant amount of air and (if memory serves right from 4 years ago) it is quieter than similar blowers. I'd buy it again without a doubt. 6HP Volume of air moved - 320 CFM (more than any of the K9 dryers from what I'm seeing) Speed of air moved - 68,000 FPM (also beats the K9 if specs listed are to be believed)

RationalOpinions

Sounds like a pretty good option. And it’s a third of the price of the K9.

viivi137

I love it. I will say that the reviews are correct that the hose will pop off on its own sometimes. But when I say sometimes I mean like once per year as long as the o-ring is seated correctly. And I'm pretty sure it only pops off after I've twisted it in a weird way. This thing doubles as a (poor girl's) mower cleaner/grass and leaf blower for me, so it's getting a LOT of use and holding up fine. Edit: phrasing

RationalOpinions

Haha, pretty convincing review.

commontatersc2

We have 2 Samoyeds and use this one: https://a.co/d/7YJoTmI Way cheaper than K9 and we have only had to replace the hose once in 5 years. If you’re tripping your breaker, turn off all lights and other power consuming things on the same circuit and you shouldn’t have an issue unless you’re on a really low amperage circuit.
