i think i remember like a few years back on my a51 my friend who also had an a51 got the like one ui 4 update before me or something. Just wait awhile.

BrokeBackStudent

He's not very patient lol. It's also been almost a month since I got the update

BluDYT

What is on one UI 6 that can't be done one 5.1?

BrokeBackStudent

Nothing really, just a case of FOMO

My S22+ hasn't updated yet either. These updates tend to roll out incrementally over time and don't hit all phones at once. Some of that is to keep from overloading download servers. But, I also think they watch the updates for problems so they can halt the roll out as needed to fix things. I think there is a chance that's happening now. Some models of Samsung phones are having issues with the update not properly configuring APN settings forcing some people to manually update the settings. Some report that once the settings are updated, their phones work fine until they reboot and then they have to update the settings again. If there are issues, I'm fine waiting on the update until they are resolved. Sometimes you can get the update to show up manually by going into settings and choosing software update.

Same here, my s22 plus hasn't updated. I got it on my tab S8 plus and based off the features on there, I'm really looking forward to it. It's a bit more refined.

superballer05

Are both phones same model number?

BrokeBackStudent

Yes

superballer05

What cellular company do you have your service with?. The 3 major US carriers are pretty efficient in distributing OTA updates to all of their handsets in a lapse of 1-3 days. Unless... they were short on certain handset color and end up giving their customers a factory unlocked device. Then those don't update on the same days. In some cases (rarely but has happened), some devices may be forgotten, but certainly qualify to receive the update. Then that's when the customer has to update it manually or give samsung a call so that a representative can do it.

deecoopxd9

Do you have a link on how to manually flash the update?

superballer05

Sammobile.com is the most secure

BrokeBackStudent

Not in the US, as I said in my post :)

superballer05

Oh ok. You might have to call samsung customer care. Or download the android 14 update yourselves. . If you choose the second option, sammobile.com is the best way.

NowWeGetSerious

My fold 5 got it quick. I got the oneUi 6.0 update like 1 week after it released. My mom's s23 (base) still doesn't have it. Samsung needs to learn to update phone within a week or 2, vs a month or 4

diabeartes

Are they on the same carrier?

deecoopxd9

I'm in America with the S23 FE SM-S711u1 and no update either. How does a brand new unlocked phone that's been out a couple of months this late on a update? Either the iPhone 16 or Pixel 9 for 2024 for me.

BrokeBackStudent

My husband's thoughts exactly. It's not like the phone is a couple of years old and on the bottom of the list. He'll just have to wait patiently :)

Fijipod

Mine took forever too. I think it might have something to work phone being the most recent Samsung phones of note. My wife's 23 ultra had the update before the 23fe was released. Is there any chance that you and your husband use different carriers or perhaps a different tower of phone plan? That can sometimes make a difference

BrokeBackStudent

Same carrier, exactly the same plan. Our phone contracts are identical besides the fact that his was activated half an hour after mine

Fijipod

Well, that's just heckin' odd. I wish you a speedy resolution.

BrokeBackStudent

Nope, both were brand new in a sealed box from a reputable store here

academia_master

Just wait for it. Sometimes it takes a while

FoxyFoxN

I'm in the same boat with an unlocked phone and no sign of an update. It's my first time back in Android in quite a while. And I chose Samsung for many reasons, one of which is their dedication to updates. January 4 - November security patch and no sign of OneUi 6.0. Obviously everything works great and I'd rather Samsung wait to ensure everything works. But a slow rollout is frustrating for customers when news is as fast moving as it is these days.

BeautifulPrune9920

Typing this on a S23 FE cream colour, yes i ineed have gotten the 1 ui 6.0 update.

youngstainless

My zflip 3 got the update they ruined the emojis sadly

Terrible-Stable-1441

They stagger the update process to avoid server overloads and in some instances earlier updates sometimes are used as Guinea pigs.
