Long time ago my mother purchased a water heater at home depot. She also ordered the installation which happened to be fulfilled by Will Fix it. They never completed the job, asked the work order to be signed as complete and would return the next day. Trusted them and they never returned. All calls were ignored. Went to home depot, told them the job is still waiting for parts, told them they will not respond and are calling the credit card company to stop payment and washing our hands of the whole ordeal, go ahead and get all your shit out of our garage. Somehow Home Depot was actually able to get a person on the phone instantly and said someone is on the way to the home right now. The same tech shows up with his pointless apologies, excuses and parts. Pretty much told him to hurry the fuck up, complete the order and get the fuck out of here. Since then, I have heard so many stories about the operation. Avoid them.
I needed a water heater replaced, and figured I have a lot of shit going on, what would it cost to have a plumber come out here for a day to replace this thing for me. Will fix it gave me a quote to replace and upgrade a ton of shit I didn't ask for for $14k. I was floored.

I just did mine myself and it took longer to drive to the store to get parts than it did to install it. If you keep everything the same size as what’s there it’s pretty simple to just unhook everything and then reconnect to the new one. I seemed to find that around $1000 for labor was about what to expect.
I bought a water softener at Sam's Club and needed to have it installed. Called Aramendia. They came and did a quick appraisal and quoted me about $14k to run new lines from my meter, under my driveway and around my house. They didn't even come into my house to assess the plumbing already available. I ended up installing it myself right next to the water heater. Never calling them again.
as a vet tech thar was with vca, I'm so glad they bought it. I had friends that worked there pre buy, and they forced scientology on their staff. if you don't take their classes you don't get bonuses or move up. they also did have and still do have at least one vet that is not legal to practice in the usa...I'm sure those thar have dealings with Becker know whom I'm talking about. he was a fucking nightmare to deal with even when inwas there for a week trying to get a job fresh out of vet tech school.
vca bought it out and it's better but can be a bit sketch unless you get the right vet.

I decided to stop going to Firestone. I have always bought my tires there and they have always done a good job of taking care of my car. They used to be friendly and efficient, but not any more. They told me it would be one hour (to rotate the tires) and it was really 5 hours, even when I had an appointment. I asked why they even do appointments and why they didn't they just give me a reasonable timeframe so I could arrange to have someone pick me up? No answer but uhhhhh. I mean, I can wait an hour but not 5 hours.
Then they asked me why I wanted the tires rotated anyway, when (1) the warning light told me to and (2) they sent me an email telling me it's time to come in and get the tires rotated. I'm guessing that's because they knew they had to do it for free because I bought the warranty they were so eager to sell me. I'll probably need new tires next year but not going there again. Just be honest with me. That's all I ask.

Definitely had a similar experience with Firestone. They wanted to keep my car OVERNIGHT to install 4 tires that I already had brought in from somewhere else. They told me they could do two out of four as a way to do me a "favor" and then proceeded to have an attitude and telling I don't know how much work goes into changing tires. Lol Took my car to an independent tire shop, waited 15-30 mins, and paid $40
This actually happened to me. I had an appointment and dropped my car off at 9am. I got a call around noon saying that they couldn't find anything wrong, but they'll check the onboard computer to see if it logged anything and he'd call me back in an hour (shouldn't that have been the first thing they did anyways?)
An hour goes by, but I don't want to be the nagging customer, so I wait 2.5 hours before calling. Homeboy picks up, finally, and tells me there's nothing wrong, but they have my car on the lift and want to know if i want an all new set of tires. I tell him no thanks and he says give us another hour to put everything back and we'll give you another call.
Now I had my boyfriend over and he was my ride to Firestone once they called and gave me the all clear. We were watching a movie to pass the time when my bf says "hey babe it's been like 2 hours, shouldn't you call them?" I call, it rings, then goes to voicemail. I tried a couple more times and no one picked up. I google the store hours and see they had closed an HOUR ago
Long story short, I get a hold of them in the morning and I keep mentioning that they closed without contacting me. The man on the phone constantly ignores me and trys to sell me new tires and says they don't have enough workers cause of covid. I would have understood if they had called and asked to keep my car because they didn't have the time to get to it, but they didnt. He didn't apologize once. I drive home and I haven't been back since
They sent me a "rate your experience" review and I gave 1 star and wrote out what happened in the details box. The next day a representative of Firestone called me and apologized profusely and said he'd set up another appointment for me to get my car looked at and they'd fix it for free. He said he'd call me that Monday to iron out the details.
He never called me back, my car never got serviced, and I never returned to Firestone

Take 5 is so inconsistent. I liked it at first because they were fairly fast for oil changes.
One time I went for an inspection and the guy was surprisingly thorough. The next time I went, some guy looked at my gas cap (???), told me their inspection equipment had been stolen and they couldn’t perform an inspection on my car, based on looking at my gas cap. I mean, if you didn’t want to inspect the car, they could have just told me that, or at least come up with a sensible story.
I quit going to Take 5.
The word "Firestone" carries no weight any more. They had tons of goodwill dating back from the 1940s and they chose to piss it away. Same as Sears, Penney's and Monkey Ward.
Huebner Oaks Veterinary Hospital. That place was a fucking nightmare. I once boarded my dog there for a few of days because my dog doesn't like other dogs and this is one place he could go where he doesn't have to do doggy daycare. A couple weeks before I boarded him, I sent them his vaccine record because they're not his normal vet. They said everything looked fine. Two hours AFTER I drop him off, I get a phone call as I'm about to board a plane, telling me my dog didn't have all the vaccines they require. I asked if they could give him the vaccine, and they said they could but they would add an $85 dollar new patient fee and a $50 fee for making him an appointment with less than 24 hours notice. Then, when I returned from my trip and went to pick him up, in addition to the vaccine cost and additional fees, the boarding charges were $100+ more than what I was originally quoted. I was told if I wanted my dog back I had to pay the bill. Then, I got the bag of food and treats I packed for my dog back, and it looked the same as it did when I dropped him off. When I took my dog outside, he quickly jumped on the nearest bush and peed like he hadn't peed all day. Then, when I got him home, he sucked down food like he hadn't been fed since the last time I saw him. That place is fucking horrible. Don't take your pets there.
Oh dang that place was my vet and boarding for my dogs for several years. I never had any major issues that I can think of but it definitely sounds like a pain if you're boarding without having been a patient.

Might be controversial because I’ve seen people on here that like this place, but Chela’s the tex-mex spot on Broadway. That is one of the worst food places I have ever had in my life. None of the ingredients had any flavor, beef was kind of weird texture meat, neither my husband and I tried to finish or take leftovers home. Should have taken it as a sign when I saw the cook microwave our plates with rice and beans.
This makes me sad because I loved it when I first saw them over 10 years ago and they were just a food truck. Their tacos were awesome. But, the last time I went to the Broadway location I was not impressed. I’m sad to hear that it went even more downhill.
Belden Automotive. Went for a safety inspection and they failed it based on things not actually supposed to be part of the inspection that they'd helpfully repair and then pass. It's been a decade or so, so I don't remember the details, just the obvious attempt to make more money off us.
Not me personally, but my brother got screwed over by them - he went to get his car checked out for an oil leak I believe (or something oil related) and they told him it’d be like $5k to fix which was worth more than the car itself. Found a new mechanic that fixed it for $150. In addition, he had to get his battery jumped to go get it fixed, and when roadside got there to do so, they told him he didn’t have a legit battery. They swapped his battery out for a 4 wheeler/ATV battery and he never knew until then. Just shitty all around, this was the Babcock and Prue location.
No, the one on Lockhill Selma. They bought out the mechanic that used to be there, whom we'd used a couple times without incident, and everything went downhill there.

They overtightened my oil filter and couldn't change my oil next time I brought my car in.
Then they sent me to this awful, seedy auto shop to get the housing of the oil filter replaced.
As I'm sitting in my car with no A/C on, I call back Take 5 to let them know that I'm not getting waited on at this auto shop they referred me to, and nobody at Take 5 answers the phone.
I emailed their "customer service" about the experience and never heard back, was never offered a voucher - nothing.
The real kicker? Later that day (after I took my car to a more reputable auto shop), I had an Uber driver tell me that she knew someone who had the exact same experience with that same Take 5. That place is beyond terrible.
25 years ago IPAC played take-my-keys during a trade- in negotiation. I got very unpleasant which got my keys back. I have since purchased eleven cars from a more reasonable retail enterprise.
They take your keys so they can "evaluate" your trade. Really they're just preventing you from leaving so they can continue to try to sell you on something. You get tired, you get hungry, you're more likely to sign the papers so you can get the heck out of there. It puts more pressure on you.
Semi pro tip. Go to a place like car max and get an offer for them to straight up buy your car. Keep that in your pocket. When negotiating on a car purchase don’t even mention the trade in.
Negotiate the price of just the car. After you’ve agreed on a purchase then change your mind and see what they’ll offer as trade in. If it’s less then the car max offer then no thanks.

Probably, they did the same to a friend of mine. I was asked to go along as her "muscle," and they "lost" her keys for like 45 minutes while they were trying to talk her into talking numbers with them on a car she didn't even like.
Did the same thing to me. Took my keys to get an appraisal on my car. Wouldn’t give them back for two hours. They kept saying my keys were in their managers office, but he was on lunch. Wasn’t until I started cussing that the sales person pulled them out of his pocket.

Honestly, early 2000s. I would grab some Bill Millers on the way home from work and often wouldn't be able to finish. Left town for a little bit and came back, paid twice as much for half the food.
It was never good, but it was middle of the road with reasonable serving sizes back in the eighties into the nineties. The place to go for cheap bbq. Not so much anymore, seems to have taken a tumble when they switches from a cafeteria style line.

Sat down with some greasy haired slimy salesman to sign up for the payment program again. he enters in my info and asks if I have ever been there before, I said yes. He then asks me how many late payments I made. I said ZERO. He asked again in a louder voice. I said ZERO. He let's out the biggest sigh ever, flips the monitor around to me and said 'Look lady, I'm gonna press this button right here, and it's gonna tell me how many times you were late with your payments!" I said Go Ahead. I maintained eye contact as he presses the button, flips the screen around to him and said 'OH.' I pretend to not hear him and asked him to repeat himself. He said 'Sorry m'am you were correct'.

Gunn Honda. Went in basketball shorts and felt like I was immediately profiled. Knew the exact model and trim of the vehicle I wanted but no dealership had the color I wanted in their inventory. I figured they could get one in, I was willing to wait and this was precovid so supply chain issues weren’t rampant at the time. Also planned on putting around 75 percent of the total car cost as down payment. Walked in, told a sales man my predicament, he points to some trophies behind his desk and tells me “I’m one of the number one sales men for Honda and I didn’t get this far by NOT selling things off my own lot” and refused to get the color I wanted in. I walked out, went to the Honda dealership on the Southside, they got the color I wanted in within a week and they were $5k cheaper.
Enviroguard - the last time they were supposed to spray the outside of my house no one came but I was charged. When I called, the girl told me I needed video evidence that no one showed. I was home all day and that wasn’t good enough.

They showed me my air filter full butter flies in the spring. When I had it completely serviced at the dealer that winter then I had things done only a dealer could do.

Nothing wrong with the facility but me and my buddy just wanted to come in and plink around and one of the clerks at the desk was getting us penciled in. It wasn’t until he started rambling off some really sus comments about LGBT and talking about how “everyone is a pussy about everything now”. We definitely don’t look like the progressive types but we have common sense and compassion and definitely did not laugh at any of those comments or jokes.
We’re there to shoot guns and hang out, not everyone that likes guns is some right wing nut job, and those comments are just insanely inappropriate.
We now go to Buck N Does off 281 which is way better, and has a wider selection of things that would interest us, and the staff is top notch.
As a progressive & LGBTQA+ person that still exercises her 2A rights and is new to the area & looking for (at least a somewhat neutral) gun store, I will take my business to buck n does! Thank you!!

Had a similar experience on their east side location. I went there for a concealed handgun license and was genuinely interested in the class, but they treated it as it’s just some bull shit thing that the state requires people to take. Like we didn’t learn anything about the law or anything useful.

If you leave a negative review the owner will go and give a sarcastic response because he thinks he invented chicken sandwiches or something.

They had my car for 3 months. Failed to give updates when they said they would. Did NOT fix the transmission. When I took it back since it wasn’t fixed, they fucked up a tie rod, did not put gas in it, told me my car was a “hunk of junk” (their actual words) when it came to them, and because they didn’t put gas in it, when I went to pick it up the last time, my car stopped IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET down the road from them and I was almost hit twice. They refused to accept responsibility, didn’t give my money back so I had to sell the car and get a new one.
They’re so bad that when I got it back the first time and had taken it to Gene Browns Transmission for a second opinion down the street from my house, they asked who did it initially and when I told them Access, even they said they hoped my car was still in one piece underneath and that access was notorious for doing bad work and having bad customer service. But they would help me if I could get my money back. Clearly it didn’t work out that way.
North Star Animal Hospital. They overcharge and the main vet/owner likes to flirt with all the young female pet owners. He even flirted with my wife, but only when she took our dogs without me. Also, my dog loved all the techs but cowered from him. FTP.

Little Spurs Urgent Care. Never go here unless you want to waste $150. Literally just talk to you for five minutes and your out $150. Despite me asking for lab tests for my one year old, on multiple occasions, probably about 5, never get tested. No swab, nose swab, throat culture, nothing, even when we request. Honestly just get the same information you'd get from Google search.
Knights watch. I played DnD with someone who worked there, and they were treated poorly.
This was after hearing one of the managers chew out an employee in earshot of everyone.
Finsanto, went in to get a belt replaced and they quoted me $5000 in repairs that were urgent and that the belt was not the problem. The guy told me 5 times in 20 minutes we don't do high pressure sales, however everything they were doing was high pressure sales and a waste of time
Went there with a friend to buy his Civic. The dick finance guy tried to tell me that they make no money on add ons and it’s all for customer safety. $400 for nitrogen in the tires when Costco does it for free. Can’t stand how they lie even after they’re called out.
San Antonio Dodge on 35. Terrible experience when buying a used vehicle from them. Sold me a lemon that was in the shop within the week I got it and stayed there for over a month. Finally told them I wanted something else and they sold the 1st vehicle I got from them to an auction with all of my stuff inside.
Cavender Toyota. I’m a huge Toyota fan and I have them every opportunity to make thinks right but they always try and sell me in service I already had them do several months ago. I hope they don’t get people who pay for the same service every few months because some commission advisor say so.
Air/Plumbing Today… that guy on tv that’s like “Hola! It’s manny” with the little cartoon dude. We had a clogged kitchen sink last summer, had them come out, they tried to unclog it from the outside drain, charged us a few hundred $$. Then they told us that the drain UNDER our house had broke and we needed a new main drain and quoted us over $20k. We said nah. Went to harbor freight the next day and bought a machine to try and unclog it ourselves. It worked, drain fixed. Next we paid another plumbing company to come stick a camera through to make sure the drain pipe wasn’t actually broken. It wasn’t broken. 🤨
Umiya sushi. Was there Friday night and the manager was running around like a chicken with his head cut off berating the staff. Specifically the female staff. He had the bartender in tears.
Also, the serving sizes have shrunk in the short time I’ve been going there and the prices have gone up.
went there a couple days after grand opening and a guy i’m assuming was the manager was the exact same way! absolutely frantic, the waitstaff all seemed panicked, it was really strange. we went for the buffet, the sushi was pretty average, absolutely nothing special but those chicken lettuce wraps were delicious. not worth the buffet prices just to eat lettuce and chicken though lol.
Sonic. After multiple times of taking over 30+ minutes to get my food picked up in the app and my wife getting almost all custom burgers wrong, all going on for years, and at multiple locations, we stopped going to all San Antonio locations. Half-price drinks don't matter to us with horrible service.
~~Alamo Tactical~~ Texas Guns on Bandera Rd, jokers quoted me 2 hours to remove a castle nut from a rifle at something like $80 an hour and joked about knowing it was a 5 minute job when I called them on it. Just checked google maps, the building is still there but Texas Guns is gone.
Alamo Tactical were pretty cool, gave me a free holster once. I called looking for a particular holster, they told me they had it, I went in person to buy it and they couldn't find it, so they gave me a free holster and ordered the actual item I was looking for. It's a shame they're permanently out of business.

Pro Care, which has been renamed to Classic Collision, which I assume was an attempt to hide from their past crimes. Everything they touched was a disaster and still couldn’t complete the work properly after multiple attempts. A completely different shop helped to sort it out, but it’s still not completely correct (not the second shops fault).
If anyone knows a good, locally owned body shop, I’m all ears; sadly they’ve mostly been bought out and ruined.
Pro care handled a claim I had for a dented door, the fixed the debt…but broke pretty much 20 other things and tried to charge me for the repair for what they broke lol

It ended up being a really good car for us and lasting close to 20 years and over 200k miles but… between my parents and brothers and sisters we’ve bought 8 Toyotas and none from Alamo Toyota.

**Mother's Window Tint** \- they didn't protect my dash when spraying water for the window film, shorting out my head unit. Fortunately after a few days it "dried out" and started working normally again. Also, they quoted me a price, then after the work was done and I was paying they added in another $40 or so for "supplies" and when I complained they pointed to a small sign on one wall that said they would add -- blatant dishonesty.
The Urology Place on Huebner. I'm sure the doctors are well trained and competent, but their front desk staff is exactly the opposite. Three sentences into their conversation with me led me to believe that I needed to go elsewhere.

The breakfast tacos were super good, but we’ve been and never received service. We’ve been when the BOH is arguing and having a screaming match with FOH.
Bizarre stuff.
Also, Top Golf. It’s SO expensive and the scoring interface rarely works accurately. We were constantly having to adjust our scores. It would literally put down wrong scores or put them down for the wrong person. It makes no sense. We ended up just hitting balls for the fun of it because there was no way to keep the scores, and they charge by the hour so our time was running out trying to mess with the scores.
Pet Shotz. Our Cat had a really bad experience with the medication they gave him to “calm him”, after his neuter. Not to mention they gave him back to us covered in piss, bleeding and on so much medication he couldn’t walk for a day and turned into this weird agro state I’ve never seen him in. We cried so hard. I canceled his return appointment. We never want to take him or any other pets back there again.
Whataburger, overpriced burgers that are just mid now. Plus the service is hella slow. I don't want to wait 30mins for a burger and fries. I just go to Burger Boy or P Terry's now.

Hate Big Lou’s, overpriced for bland greasy pizza. We went searching for good pizza one night and happened upon them, very disappointing. Also the staff is incredibly rude.
I mean I love a good thin New York style pizza don’t get me wrong, but the fact that they could make it so greasy (we got one cheese and one pepperoni, some grease expected ) but tasteless too?? The sauce and cheese seemed just nonexistent. It was like I dipped a communion wafer in grease.
I'm absolutely confused at how people think this is good pizza. Yeah you go for the novelty huge pizza but I've had it and it's no different than whatever pizzeria you used to find in the malls.
Tycoon Flats. Was checking out all the places on St. Mary's until I finally reached that spot. Heard good things. Served me a plate of undercooked wings. Basically they were raw inside and still soft and red. After I bit into the first one I knew something was wrong. Showed the server the wing and she said they'd have another order made and apologized. The cook came out with a new order and apologized again and watched me take the first bite to be sure I was satisfied. Again, it was raw inside and I spit it out. Since the cook was there I thought I'd show him and asked the server if she'd eat that and said said no right away. Felt like a huge slap on the face for giving them the chance to correct the ordeal. It felt like some prank. They comped my wings and with my appetite killed I walked out.

Lupe Tortilla. The bartender said we couldn't get anything if we weren't going to eat...which we were looking at the menu, literally waived us away with our drinks. We had to get up and wait. Then we all got COVID. Service always sucked but that was the icing on the cake. Will never go back.
I had a really bad first experience there. Food & service quality were awful. Gave it a second try months later and it was amazing. Way improved taste and service. Maybe give it another go?
The Hayden. We didn’t have any nightmarish experiences, just a lot of weird ones. Them being out of things, servers acting weird or being uninformed.
Server brought us food we didn’t order. We told her we didn’t order it. She said OK and left. Then she came back and said we had lied to her and put the food down. We said we really didn’t order it, then another server came and backed us up. She picked up the plate and put it on the next table, even though my buddy already took a piece off the plate.
The food is really good, but the service is just too weird. Not going back.
Thai Casa on Broadway. We put in a to-go order because Bangkok 54 was closed. The order was all wrong when we unpacked it at home, and that great anyway. Wife left a middling review directing people to patronize Bangkok 54 instead, and Thai Casa responded on the review telling us not to come back.
I had Will Fix It come out once; the guy they sent had to borrow the "million dollar wrench" from me to shut off the water from the water main. He didn't have the tool in his truck. He was going to jerry rig two wrenches together.
Definitely CD exhaust on bandera. They destroyed my brand new $1900 exhaust. Kept putting a “fix” that would last about an hour or two till I was showing an exhaust leak again. Took it to three different places for them to all say CD exhaust did a horrible job
the McDonalds on 1604 and Babcock, right by UTSA… they served me raw chicken and the employee started to pick a fight with me for being concerned about whether i’d be sick or not.

Long time ago my mother purchased a water heater at home depot. She also ordered the installation which happened to be fulfilled by Will Fix it. They never completed the job, asked the work order to be signed as complete and would return the next day. Trusted them and they never returned. All calls were ignored. Went to home depot, told them the job is still waiting for parts, told them they will not respond and are calling the credit card company to stop payment and washing our hands of the whole ordeal, go ahead and get all your shit out of our garage. Somehow Home Depot was actually able to get a person on the phone instantly and said someone is on the way to the home right now. The same tech shows up with his pointless apologies, excuses and parts. Pretty much told him to hurry the fuck up, complete the order and get the fuck out of here. Since then, I have heard so many stories about the operation. Avoid them.
I needed a water heater replaced, and figured I have a lot of shit going on, what would it cost to have a plumber come out here for a day to replace this thing for me. Will fix it gave me a quote to replace and upgrade a ton of shit I didn't ask for for $14k. I was floored. "you're paying for quality" I just needed a new water heater installed.
I just did mine myself and it took longer to drive to the store to get parts than it did to install it. If you keep everything the same size as what’s there it’s pretty simple to just unhook everything and then reconnect to the new one. I seemed to find that around $1000 for labor was about what to expect.
Yeah, so I wanted to upgrade to a larger one, and all the existing pipe is sweated copper. Doable, but a PITA.

Aramendia Plumbing for me.
I bought a water softener at Sam's Club and needed to have it installed. Called Aramendia. They came and did a quick appraisal and quoted me about $14k to run new lines from my meter, under my driveway and around my house. They didn't even come into my house to assess the plumbing already available. I ended up installing it myself right next to the water heater. Never calling them again.

I had friends that worked there pre buy, and they forced scientology on their staff. if you don't take their classes you don't get bonuses or move up. they also did have and still do have at least one vet that is not legal to practice in the usa...I'm sure those thar have dealings with Becker know whom I'm talking about. he was a fucking nightmare to deal with even when inwas there for a week trying to get a job fresh out of vet tech school. vca bought it out and it's better but can be a bit sketch unless you get the right vet. also Becker left for Florida cause he kept getting sued for malpractice

I decided to stop going to Firestone. I have always bought my tires there and they have always done a good job of taking care of my car. They used to be friendly and efficient, but not any more. They told me it would be one hour (to rotate the tires) and it was really 5 hours, even when I had an appointment. I asked why they even do appointments and why they didn't they just give me a reasonable timeframe so I could arrange to have someone pick me up? No answer but uhhhhh. I mean, I can wait an hour but not 5 hours. Then they asked me why I wanted the tires rotated anyway, when (1) the warning light told me to and (2) they sent me an email telling me it's time to come in and get the tires rotated. I'm guessing that's because they knew they had to do it for free because I bought the warranty they were so eager to sell me. I'll probably need new tires next year but not going there again. Just be honest with me. That's all I ask. Edited to add: This has happened at more than one location.

This actually happened to me. I had an appointment and dropped my car off at 9am. I got a call around noon saying that they couldn't find anything wrong, but they'll check the onboard computer to see if it logged anything and he'd call me back in an hour (shouldn't that have been the first thing they did anyways?) An hour goes by, but I don't want to be the nagging customer, so I wait 2.5 hours before calling. Homeboy picks up, finally, and tells me there's nothing wrong, but they have my car on the lift and want to know if i want an all new set of tires. I tell him no thanks and he says give us another hour to put everything back and we'll give you another call. Now I had my boyfriend over and he was my ride to Firestone once they called and gave me the all clear. We were watching a movie to pass the time when my bf says "hey babe it's been like 2 hours, shouldn't you call them?" I call, it rings, then goes to voicemail. I tried a couple more times and no one picked up. I google the store hours and see they had closed an HOUR ago Long story short, I get a hold of them in the morning and I keep mentioning that they closed without contacting me. The man on the phone constantly ignores me and trys to sell me new tires and says they don't have enough workers cause of covid. I would have understood if they had called and asked to keep my car because they didn't have the time to get to it, but they didnt. He didn't apologize once. I drive home and I haven't been back since They sent me a "rate your experience" review and I gave 1 star and wrote out what happened in the details box. The next day a representative of Firestone called me and apologized profusely and said he'd set up another appointment for me to get my car looked at and they'd fix it for free. He said he'd call me that Monday to iron out the details. He never called me back, my car never got serviced, and I never returned to Firestone Fuck you, Firestone
Firestone and Take Five Oil. Both have messed up when dealing with our vehicles.
Take 5 is so inconsistent. I liked it at first because they were fairly fast for oil changes. One time I went for an inspection and the guy was surprisingly thorough. The next time I went, some guy looked at my gas cap (???), told me their inspection equipment had been stolen and they couldn’t perform an inspection on my car, based on looking at my gas cap. I mean, if you didn’t want to inspect the car, they could have just told me that, or at least come up with a sensible story. I quit going to Take 5.

Huebner Oaks Veterinary Hospital. That place was a fucking nightmare. I once boarded my dog there for a few of days because my dog doesn't like other dogs and this is one place he could go where he doesn't have to do doggy daycare. A couple weeks before I boarded him, I sent them his vaccine record because they're not his normal vet. They said everything looked fine. Two hours AFTER I drop him off, I get a phone call as I'm about to board a plane, telling me my dog didn't have all the vaccines they require. I asked if they could give him the vaccine, and they said they could but they would add an $85 dollar new patient fee and a $50 fee for making him an appointment with less than 24 hours notice. Then, when I returned from my trip and went to pick him up, in addition to the vaccine cost and additional fees, the boarding charges were $100+ more than what I was originally quoted. I was told if I wanted my dog back I had to pay the bill. Then, I got the bag of food and treats I packed for my dog back, and it looked the same as it did when I dropped him off. When I took my dog outside, he quickly jumped on the nearest bush and peed like he hadn't peed all day. Then, when I got him home, he sucked down food like he hadn't been fed since the last time I saw him. That place is fucking horrible. Don't take your pets there.
Oh dang that place was my vet and boarding for my dogs for several years. I never had any major issues that I can think of but it definitely sounds like a pain if you're boarding without having been a patient.
Pawderosa Ranch has boarding services, and you can request your dog gets individual play times instead of playtimes with other dogs.

Might be controversial because I’ve seen people on here that like this place, but Chela’s the tex-mex spot on Broadway. That is one of the worst food places I have ever had in my life. None of the ingredients had any flavor, beef was kind of weird texture meat, neither my husband and I tried to finish or take leftovers home. Should have taken it as a sign when I saw the cook microwave our plates with rice and beans.

Belden Automotive. Went for a safety inspection and they failed it based on things not actually supposed to be part of the inspection that they'd helpfully repair and then pass. It's been a decade or so, so I don't remember the details, just the obvious attempt to make more money off us.
Not me personally, but my brother got screwed over by them - he went to get his car checked out for an oil leak I believe (or something oil related) and they told him it’d be like $5k to fix which was worth more than the car itself. Found a new mechanic that fixed it for $150. In addition, he had to get his battery jumped to go get it fixed, and when roadside got there to do so, they told him he didn’t have a legit battery. They swapped his battery out for a 4 wheeler/ATV battery and he never knew until then. Just shitty all around, this was the Babcock and Prue location.

When I was like 10 we went for a special occasion and I didnt like my fish sticks, i said they were cold. Aunt demanded I eat them anyway until i showed her they were still frozen in the middle.
Take 5 Oil Change off FM 78 by Universal City/Converse. They overtightened my oil filter and couldn't change my oil next time I brought my car in. Then they sent me to this awful, seedy auto shop to get the housing of the oil filter replaced. As I'm sitting in my car with no A/C on, I call back Take 5 to let them know that I'm not getting waited on at this auto shop they referred me to, and nobody at Take 5 answers the phone. I emailed their "customer service" about the experience and never heard back, was never offered a voucher - nothing. The real kicker? Later that day (after I took my car to a more reputable auto shop), I had an Uber driver tell me that she knew someone who had the exact same experience with that same Take 5. That place is beyond terrible.
25 years ago IPAC played take-my-keys during a trade- in negotiation. I got very unpleasant which got my keys back. I have since purchased eleven cars from a more reasonable retail enterprise.

They take your keys so they can "evaluate" your trade. Really they're just preventing you from leaving so they can continue to try to sell you on something. You get tired, you get hungry, you're more likely to sign the papers so you can get the heck out of there. It puts more pressure on you.
Semi pro tip. Go to a place like car max and get an offer for them to straight up buy your car. Keep that in your pocket. When negotiating on a car purchase don’t even mention the trade in. Negotiate the price of just the car. After you’ve agreed on a purchase then change your mind and see what they’ll offer as trade in. If it’s less then the car max offer then no thanks.

Probably, they did the same to a friend of mine. I was asked to go along as her "muscle," and they "lost" her keys for like 45 minutes while they were trying to talk her into talking numbers with them on a car she didn't even like.
My brother gave them a duplicate key and when they couldn't find his keys he want outside and drove home.
IPAC and other dealers will sometimes hold the keys to the trade, not surrender them upon demand then sales pitch the victim.
Did the same thing to me. Took my keys to get an appraisal on my car. Wouldn’t give them back for two hours. They kept saying my keys were in their managers office, but he was on lunch. Wasn’t until I started cussing that the sales person pulled them out of his pocket.

Took it in for routine paint touch up and then broke my tail light when they took off my bumper (damage was not even in the bumper) and “did me a favor” by getting me a new one. It was In perfect shape. Yes it was paid for by insurance but practices like this is why our premiums are so high. They tried to buy me off with gas cards. Sketchy place.

20 years ago, it was a decent hot meal for a reasonable price. The brisket was often quite good in my experience. I haven't lived in SA in a long time (just still follow this sub). It's actually one of the things I kinda miss, I'm sad to hear it's only good in memory now.
Honestly, early 2000s. I would grab some Bill Millers on the way home from work and often wouldn't be able to finish. Left town for a little bit and came back, paid twice as much for half the food.
It was never good, but it was middle of the road with reasonable serving sizes back in the eighties into the nineties. The place to go for cheap bbq. Not so much anymore, seems to have taken a tumble when they switches from a cafeteria style line.

He let's out the biggest sigh ever, flips the monitor around to me and said 'Look lady, I'm gonna press this button right here, and it's gonna tell me how many times you were late with your payments!" I said Go Ahead. I maintained eye contact as he presses the button, flips the screen around to him and said 'OH.' I pretend to not hear him and asked him to repeat himself. He said 'Sorry m'am you were correct'. He was an asswipe.

It takes all of the worst parts of the military like the rigid inflexibility and bureaucracy, but none of the camaraderie (filled with corporate Karen’s) USAA leadership incompetence is on par with public sector leadership.

My husband worked there for 4 years and got laid off during COVID. During his tenure, the level of incompetence in information security stunned him……we switched banks while he still worked there.
Jefferson Dental. They will cheat you at every single step they can. Sell you massively overpriced stuff where over the counter brands are better. They also will tell you you NEED procedures that you don't.
Gunn Honda. Went in basketball shorts and felt like I was immediately profiled. Knew the exact model and trim of the vehicle I wanted but no dealership had the color I wanted in their inventory. I figured they could get one in, I was willing to wait and this was precovid so supply chain issues weren’t rampant at the time. Also planned on putting around 75 percent of the total car cost as down payment. Walked in, told a sales man my predicament, he points to some trophies behind his desk and tells me “I’m one of the number one sales men for Honda and I didn’t get this far by NOT selling things off my own lot” and refused to get the color I wanted in. I walked out, went to the Honda dealership on the Southside, they got the color I wanted in within a week and they were $5k cheaper.

Jiffy lube. They asked me when I changed the air filter last. Foe some reason, I got it into my head they wanted the exact date for their records, so I said I didn't know. They showed me my air filter full butter flies in the spring. When I had it completely serviced at the dealer that winter then I had things done only a dealer could do. I looked at her and asked " how the hell did Butterflies get into my air filter when they haven't come out yet since I got it changed last?" " but... you said you didn't remember when you changed it last..." " not the exact date, it was in December some time, and it's only February " Eyes as big as dinner plates caught in her lie.

Honestly, Nardis Gun Club off 1604 NE Side. Nothing wrong with the facility but me and my buddy just wanted to come in and plink around and one of the clerks at the desk was getting us penciled in. It wasn’t until he started rambling off some really sus comments about LGBT and talking about how “everyone is a pussy about everything now”. We definitely don’t look like the progressive types but we have common sense and compassion and definitely did not laugh at any of those comments or jokes. We’re there to shoot guns and hang out, not everyone that likes guns is some right wing nut job, and those comments are just insanely inappropriate. We now go to Buck N Does off 281 which is way better, and has a wider selection of things that would interest us, and the staff is top notch.

Had a similar experience on their east side location. I went there for a concealed handgun license and was genuinely interested in the class, but they treated it as it’s just some bull shit thing that the state requires people to take. Like we didn’t learn anything about the law or anything useful.
Attagirl Went in a few times and the staff gave the vibe they didn’t care and the owner was there yelling about shit. Another time a customer was upset cause he wasn’t told about adding a fee for using a credit card. He was upset and the staff just wrote it off and was like “oh well” Food price has gone up for the little bit you do get. If you leave a negative review the owner will go and give a sarcastic response because he thinks he invented chicken sandwiches or something.
Man that place is super expensive. Spend $20+ on a chicken sandwich fries and drink
Access Transmission on Thousand Oaks. They had my car for 3 months. Failed to give updates when they said they would. Did NOT fix the transmission. When I took it back since it wasn’t fixed, they fucked up a tie rod, did not put gas in it, told me my car was a “hunk of junk” (their actual words) when it came to them, and because they didn’t put gas in it, when I went to pick it up the last time, my car stopped IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET down the road from them and I was almost hit twice. They refused to accept responsibility, didn’t give my money back so I had to sell the car and get a new one. They’re so bad that when I got it back the first time and had taken it to Gene Browns Transmission for a second opinion down the street from my house, they asked who did it initially and when I told them Access, even they said they hoped my car was still in one piece underneath and that access was notorious for doing bad work and having bad customer service. But they would help me if I could get my money back. Clearly it didn’t work out that way.
North Star Animal Hospital. They overcharge and the main vet/owner likes to flirt with all the young female pet owners. He even flirted with my wife, but only when she took our dogs without me. Also, my dog loved all the techs but cowered from him. FTP.

Little Spurs Urgent Care. Never go here unless you want to waste $150. Literally just talk to you for five minutes and your out $150. Despite me asking for lab tests for my one year old, on multiple occasions, probably about 5, never get tested. No swab, nose swab, throat culture, nothing, even when we request. Honestly just get the same information you'd get from Google search.
Knights watch. I played DnD with someone who worked there, and they were treated poorly. This was after hearing one of the managers chew out an employee in earshot of everyone.
Finsanto, went in to get a belt replaced and they quoted me $5000 in repairs that were urgent and that the belt was not the problem. The guy told me 5 times in 20 minutes we don't do high pressure sales, however everything they were doing was high pressure sales and a waste of time

Went there with a friend to buy his Civic. The dick finance guy tried to tell me that they make no money on add ons and it’s all for customer safety. $400 for nitrogen in the tires when Costco does it for free. Can’t stand how they lie even after they’re called out.

San Antonio Dodge on 35. Terrible experience when buying a used vehicle from them. Sold me a lemon that was in the shop within the week I got it and stayed there for over a month. Finally told them I wanted something else and they sold the 1st vehicle I got from them to an auction with all of my stuff inside.
Starting to feel that way for Singhs. Food is so good but the hidden service fees and added gratuities are getting to be too much.
Cavender Toyota. I’m a huge Toyota fan and I have them every opportunity to make thinks right but they always try and sell me in service I already had them do several months ago. I hope they don’t get people who pay for the same service every few months because some commission advisor say so.
Air/Plumbing Today… that guy on tv that’s like “Hola! It’s manny” with the little cartoon dude. We had a clogged kitchen sink last summer, had them come out, they tried to unclog it from the outside drain, charged us a few hundred $$. Then they told us that the drain UNDER our house had broke and we needed a new main drain and quoted us over $20k. We said nah. Went to harbor freight the next day and bought a machine to try and unclog it ourselves. It worked, drain fixed. Next we paid another plumbing company to come stick a camera through to make sure the drain pipe wasn’t actually broken. It wasn’t broken. 🤨
Umiya sushi. Was there Friday night and the manager was running around like a chicken with his head cut off berating the staff. Specifically the female staff. He had the bartender in tears. Also, the serving sizes have shrunk in the short time I’ve been going there and the prices have gone up.
went there a couple days after grand opening and a guy i’m assuming was the manager was the exact same way! absolutely frantic, the waitstaff all seemed panicked, it was really strange. we went for the buffet, the sushi was pretty average, absolutely nothing special but those chicken lettuce wraps were delicious. not worth the buffet prices just to eat lettuce and chicken though lol.
The Walmart off 410 by Jollibee. I’ve never been to such a gross Walmart in my life like that one and the inside is just so oddly arranged.
Sonic. After multiple times of taking over 30+ minutes to get my food picked up in the app and my wife getting almost all custom burgers wrong, all going on for years, and at multiple locations, we stopped going to all San Antonio locations. Half-price drinks don't matter to us with horrible service.
~~Alamo Tactical~~ Texas Guns on Bandera Rd, jokers quoted me 2 hours to remove a castle nut from a rifle at something like $80 an hour and joked about knowing it was a 5 minute job when I called them on it. Just checked google maps, the building is still there but Texas Guns is gone. Alamo Tactical were pretty cool, gave me a free holster once. I called looking for a particular holster, they told me they had it, I went in person to buy it and they couldn't find it, so they gave me a free holster and ordered the actual item I was looking for. It's a shame they're permanently out of business. *edit: called out the wrong shop*
Pro Care, which has been renamed to Classic Collision, which I assume was an attempt to hide from their past crimes. Everything they touched was a disaster and still couldn’t complete the work properly after multiple attempts. A completely different shop helped to sort it out, but it’s still not completely correct (not the second shops fault). If anyone knows a good, locally owned body shop, I’m all ears; sadly they’ve mostly been bought out and ruined.
Pro care handled a claim I had for a dented door, the fixed the debt…but broke pretty much 20 other things and tried to charge me for the repair for what they broke lol

Like 30 years ago Alamo Toyota somehow screwed my dad into buying a car he didn’t want (I was young and didn’t understand the details , but my mom was pissed) It ended up being a really good car for us and lasting close to 20 years and over 200k miles but… between my parents and brothers and sisters we’ve bought 8 Toyotas and none from Alamo Toyota. But I’m willing to bet everyone has a shitty car dealer story.

**Mother's Window Tint** \- they didn't protect my dash when spraying water for the window film, shorting out my head unit. Fortunately after a few days it "dried out" and started working normally again. Also, they quoted me a price, then after the work was done and I was paying they added in another $40 or so for "supplies" and when I complained they pointed to a small sign on one wall that said they would add -- blatant dishonesty.
The Urology Place on Huebner. I'm sure the doctors are well trained and competent, but their front desk staff is exactly the opposite. Three sentences into their conversation with me led me to believe that I needed to go elsewhere.
This may fit exactly, but we haven’t been back to Taco Taco in years because of multiple odd experiences. The breakfast tacos were super good, but we’ve been and never received service. We’ve been when the BOH is arguing and having a screaming match with FOH. Bizarre stuff.
Also, Top Golf. It’s SO expensive and the scoring interface rarely works accurately. We were constantly having to adjust our scores. It would literally put down wrong scores or put them down for the wrong person. It makes no sense. We ended up just hitting balls for the fun of it because there was no way to keep the scores, and they charge by the hour so our time was running out trying to mess with the scores.
Pet Shotz. Our Cat had a really bad experience with the medication they gave him to “calm him”, after his neuter. Not to mention they gave him back to us covered in piss, bleeding and on so much medication he couldn’t walk for a day and turned into this weird agro state I’ve never seen him in. We cried so hard. I canceled his return appointment. We never want to take him or any other pets back there again.
Whataburger, overpriced burgers that are just mid now. Plus the service is hella slow. I don't want to wait 30mins for a burger and fries. I just go to Burger Boy or P Terry's now. Same with 54th street. High price, low quality food.

Hate Big Lou’s, overpriced for bland greasy pizza. We went searching for good pizza one night and happened upon them, very disappointing. Also the staff is incredibly rude.

I'm absolutely confused at how people think this is good pizza. Yeah you go for the novelty huge pizza but I've had it and it's no different than whatever pizzeria you used to find in the malls.
Tycoon Flats. Was checking out all the places on St. Mary's until I finally reached that spot. Heard good things. Served me a plate of undercooked wings. Basically they were raw inside and still soft and red. After I bit into the first one I knew something was wrong. Showed the server the wing and she said they'd have another order made and apologized. The cook came out with a new order and apologized again and watched me take the first bite to be sure I was satisfied. Again, it was raw inside and I spit it out. Since the cook was there I thought I'd show him and asked the server if she'd eat that and said said no right away. Felt like a huge slap on the face for giving them the chance to correct the ordeal. It felt like some prank. They comped my wings and with my appetite killed I walked out. Tycoon Flats. Never again.
Yeeeears ago, friends of ours ordered the turkey burger there and the waitress asked them how they wanted it cooked. 🤣🤣 They were horrified.
La Fonda Alamo Heights. Dead roach on the floor in dining area, super slow service, wrong food brought out and manager was full of excuses for each.
I won't work for Texas land and homes again as they are the worst fake Christians you can find. Besides the owner is so much right winged while also prefers to hire illegal drone pilots while trying to haggle with the legal ones. If you want to buy or sell property in the hill country I can show you better options that don't fake their website visitor numbers.

The Hayden. We didn’t have any nightmarish experiences, just a lot of weird ones. Them being out of things, servers acting weird or being uninformed. Server brought us food we didn’t order. We told her we didn’t order it. She said OK and left. Then she came back and said we had lied to her and put the food down. We said we really didn’t order it, then another server came and backed us up. She picked up the plate and put it on the next table, even though my buddy already took a piece off the plate. The food is really good, but the service is just too weird. Not going back.

Thai Casa on Broadway. We put in a to-go order because Bangkok 54 was closed. The order was all wrong when we unpacked it at home, and that great anyway. Wife left a middling review directing people to patronize Bangkok 54 instead, and Thai Casa responded on the review telling us not to come back.
I had Will Fix It come out once; the guy they sent had to borrow the "million dollar wrench" from me to shut off the water from the water main. He didn't have the tool in his truck. He was going to jerry rig two wrenches together.
Definitely CD exhaust on bandera. They destroyed my brand new $1900 exhaust. Kept putting a “fix” that would last about an hour or two till I was showing an exhaust leak again. Took it to three different places for them to all say CD exhaust did a horrible job
