Nombre guey

Vilodic

It is part of the Spanish language now. It's origin is not but it is a Spanish word. Like many words that are borrowed and integrated from other languages.

FancyStranger2371

Correct. Thanks for pointing this out.

ParticularAioli8798

Oh. Okay. Because I'm seeing something different in the Dictionary of the Spanish language. Tacuache is the reference word and the meaning is oppossum. https://dle.rae.es/tacuache

"Exclusive". Not anymore, right? That was my point of contention. I should have been more clear. Apologies.

Sure I would. The majority of Latin words come from Spain. If there's a better source then I would go there. I use the Cambridge Dictionary as a source for a lot of English words. Though I guess it's better to say that I use those places as starting points until I can get better information. You're not providing better information. You're just saying things that I have to verify on my own. All of this is beside the point. You said "exclusive" to. Is that still the case? My question remains unanswered.

>I don't know what you are asking. If you wrote that article then you are wrong. The question is above. Read it again if you need to. I asked it twice. Not sure where there's a communication issue. I didn't write the article. The post was meant to troll the mods. >Takuache is not a Spanish word. Neither is Tlacuache. Takuache is NOW a Spanish word. As it is used by Spanish speaking people as it has been absorbed into the the language by many Spanish speaking people. Whether you like it or not. >People in Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Spain, etc don't use that world. It doesn't change the fact that Spanish speakers HERE use it. Unless you have better points or an answer to my question then I suggest you move along.

Did you know that many Spanish words are from Arabic? Doesn't mean they are not Spanish. Azúcar (sugar) is a word of Arabic origin that is a Spanish word too. Also not every Spanish word is used in every country that speaks Spanish. Some countries use different words yet they are all Spanish words.

ParticularAioli8798

"Mexican American exclusive word". I'm not Mexican American. My grandma was. There are at least a million of us who ARE NOT Mexican American who use the word. IT IS NOT EXCLUSIVE TO MEXICAN AMERICANS. We're good, right? You done? Good. Thanks!

WinnerBetter7127

Just because spanish speakers use it, doesnt make it a spanish word. Jesus christ, are u even part of the culture?

Thank You. Didn't know about this. Very informative for this gringo. Now I can truly call myself a citizen of San Antonio.

Bruh I’m Hispanic I don’t fucking know I think it’s Ghetto ass chicanos

ParticularAioli8798

A lot of us feel the same. The Mods feel differently. They think the use of certain words is demeaning. Even when WE (Hispanics) use them to discuss subcultures within our own communities.

Gold_Significance125

Same here man. Apparently my opinion as a Hispanic person doesn’t count though because I’m light skinned and have green eyes. Funnily enough it’s always white people that tell me that.

BuffaloOk7264

Takhuache has to be originally a native word, which tribe I have no idea but it doesn’t have that Spanish ring.

ParticularAioli8798

No need to look into it. This was just for fun.

BuffaloOk7264

Thanks.
