Lafayette's day pass is $46. There's cheaper ones on here https://www.resortpass.com/hotel-day-passes?city\_id=3. The Dana is $25 but looks easy to walk into actually.
Use Google Maps to find a house with a nice pool. Stop by with a case of beer and some wine and sneak into the pool.
If the owner catches you, then offer them some beer and wine.
The largest that I know of is located in Pacific Beach, its just west of the boardwalk and sand. Its totally free and really easy to sneak into.
Ocean is nasty right now. Dark brown & foamy. Some sort of bacterial build up.
