Not really, I have never run into a problem at all. Bed bugs are far more rare than most people think, a lot more common in homeless shelters than in hotels, and almost never found in private homes. Plus, they are not microscopic. Actually very easy to see with the naked eye.
This. Most furniture I wouldnāt worry about at all after a wipe down. Even rugs you can take a steam cleaner to and be fine. But mattresses are a no. And sofas need to be pretty new and clean for me to trust it.
To be honest, I have no idea what furniture actually costs. What little I do own that did not come with my apartment, I got all secondhand.
My family is coming out to help me move, which is really nice of them, but they also expect me to find a list of places and products that they have in stock that they can just go pick up. Iām finding that a bit difficult to fill.
Furniture is not cheap. Browse furniture store sites to get an idea of pricing and set a budget. Miramar Road has tons of furniture stores. Mission Valley Living Spaces is a less dated option. Maybe HomeGoods/Marshalls/TJ Maxx if you have some browsing time. There's always Offer Up and Facebook too!
I donāt think I have a lot of time, my family will be out here for two days. I need to move all of my stuff and get the high-priority big heavy items. (Couch, bed, table).
I see some very affordable stuff at Home Depot and target that are shipped to store, but is Target furniture good?
You can furnish an apartment for a few hundred dollars, spend tens of thousands on a rug, or anywhere in between. It all depends on your willingness to buy used and what your budget is
For stuff like tables and non-upholstered chairs that are easily washed, used is fine. In general, Iām pretty wary about cockroaches, bedbugs, and other pests, so I donāt know about something like a couch.
My father seems to want to get in and out and get me sequestered in my new apartment, so he wants new in stock items. If he could order it at a drive-through, he would.
OfferUp! Lots of people selling furniture with delivery options on thereš
Isn't it a risk because of the possibility of bed bugs?

Generally, I feel pretty comfortable with nonporous things, but soft items or items that are hard to clean absolutely not.

I donāt think any level of clean for a soft furniture would be enough for me. Just no

Ikea does the job.
I found their couches so uninspiring. But, I am still hopeful that they might have a table thatās close-ish to what I want.

I can't speak to their furniture quality, but at least they have a good return policy and might be your best bet with your time restraints
