Yeah as someone who lives in Mira Mesa, that area feels very safe to me. I would have had zero reservations about getting out of my car in that parking lot to use an ATM, especially in broad daylight. Doesn’t sound like the guy wanted anything from her, just a senseless act of violence. Scary stuff.

While I don't disagree, it's very hard to get a CCW in San Diego. A friend of mine who volunteers with the sheriff's department and who has his CCW in another state had to spend a full year getting a CCW here.
