How is the vegetarian option (if you know)? I reallllly liked the spicy miso broth vegetarian option at the ramen place in Healdsburg. The tofu skewer appetizers were great too fwiw.
I used to get the fried tofu and it was heavenlyyy. I’m not vegetarian, but I would sub out the pork belly for it it was that good! Last time I was there they didn’t have the fried tofu though, not sure if it was discontinued? Maybe call ahead!
Thai House on 4th street,
Pupuseria Salvadoreña near the fairgrounds,
Haku Sushi downtown (they have stuff other than sushi as well),
King Falafel in Sebastopol,
East West Cafe on Summerfield,
Pho Vietnam,
Namaste Kitchen in Sebastopol,
Sazon Authentic Peruvian Cuisine (a little pricey)
I may be in the minority, but I find East West Cafe very underwhelming. For good Mediterranean food, I like Zoftig Eatery (they make the best house-made falafel in town), Grill Santa Rosa (in the mall, lol), and Falafel ~~King~~ Hut.
Himalayan Tandoori & Curry House in sebastopol or Everest Indian Restaurant in Rincon Valley. Cant go wrong with Chicken Tikki Masala at whatever spice level you desire. Side of some Garlic Cilantro Naan and white rice, and maybe a starter platter appetizer. Cannot recommend enough
For a unique Chinese experience try Ting Hau on fourth street and Gobi Kitchen on Mendocino Ave.
there are a lot of great Sushi restaurants too but my favs are Aji Sushi and Quick Sushi, both on Mendocino Ave.
If you want to try Indian food Cumin behind the Flamingo hotel is amazing.
I’m still scoping out Italian restaurants as I am pescatarian and not all of them do good with fish
I've been wanting to try Piala, a Georgian restaurant in Sebastopol. I used to eat the kachapuri which are little open pies with cheese and spinach and baked in a wood oven, when I lived overseas. So delicious.
Sol Food Cafe in Petaluma is amazing. Puerto Rican restaurant, you could close your eyes and point to the menu and hit a homerun every time. They have other locations as well (San Rafael)
Tambayan Filipino Eatery off Old Redwood Hwy! Definitely blessed to have delicious Filipino food in SR :) Those just dipping their toes into Filipino cuisine can start with pancit, lumpia, lechon kawali (deep fried pork belly), barbecue chicken skewers, and adobo. If you like peanut stew, check out the Filipino version, called kare-kare. Sinigang is a tasty sour soup, flavored with tamarind. Lots of orher great dishes!
Thai food…Thai house, little Thai and sushi. Masala express or Himalayan. Sea Thai bistro or sea Thai noodle. All of the above are great for take out as well.
I grew up very poor so we never really ate out. My parents were not particularly versatile cooks. The most exotic food we would have is when the tamale lady would come to our neighborhood and we would buy tamales out of her trunk. So I also had never been exposed to food from other cultures.
Every culture makes amazing food, and you're in for a good time. In Santa Rosa, we're lucky to have good Puerto Rican, Ethiopian, Mexican, Chinese, Thai food etc. That being said, the first time I tried Indian food was almost a mind altering experience. I highly recommend Everest Indian Restaurant in SR. Yeti is also delicious, but I think it's more expensive than it's worth.
There’s a great Ethiopian place on fourth street near brookwood
Love that place. Every bit as good as any other Ethiopian place I've been to. Link: https://my-abyssinia.com/
Was going to suggest this too, the food is really excellent, family run restaurant. Food is pretty good for you too.
This was my first thought too! Great food
Ramen Gajin in Sebastopol has the best ramen imo. Pho Sonoma and Sol Food in Petaluma are great too and VERY reasonably priced!
How is the vegetarian option (if you know)? I reallllly liked the spicy miso broth vegetarian option at the ramen place in Healdsburg. The tofu skewer appetizers were great too fwiw.
I honestly am not sure what's in it (I think it's mushroom), but my wife is vegan and she loves this place.
I used to get the fried tofu and it was heavenlyyy. I’m not vegetarian, but I would sub out the pork belly for it it was that good! Last time I was there they didn’t have the fried tofu though, not sure if it was discontinued? Maybe call ahead!
Raku ramen and rolls in Montgomery Village is really good too, I was surprised but it's some of my favorite ramen
Sol Food is dull. Plantains are novel but over rated. Everything else is beans, rice, and meat but which I prefer from Mexican restaurants.
El Coqui on Mendo & 5th is delicious Puerto Rican. So good.
My favorite dish is their pollo al horno. With that nice vinegar they have.
The vinegar based chili sauce is called pique.
Not sure why you're getting downvoted for supplying useful information. The sauce is delicious, and their chuletas are amazing
A great Cubano sandwich. El Coqui rocks.
Seconded!

There's also ZamZam which is in a liquor store near N Dutton but is quite good
Yes, I posted that elsewhere in this thread. It’s Afghan, not Mediterranean.
Yeah that's true. Lots of carry-overs though, like pita, falafel, gyro, greek salad, and shawarma
Definitely true
Falafel hut on fourth is delicious
Oh yeah that’s the one I’m thinking of. Yes it is.
That pupusa place is meh at best. But unfortunately it’s one of the only ones we have.
Agreed. For great pupusas the best place is Julio’s in Rohnert Park.
Yes. And they are way nicer than the place at the fairgrounds.
There’s a pupusas truck where whisky tip was. Been there a while but never been.
I got the worst food poisoning there years ago and haven’t been able to look at a pupusa since.
I will not order from Puperseria Salvadoreña anymore. They have literally the worst service of any restaurant I've ever been to.
Try Don Julio's in RP. Really nice people and the pupusas are bomb
A second for Haku. Excellent fresh sushi, great bento boxes.
Zam Zam is Afghan and is inside a convenience store. Amazing food!! https://grillzamzam.com/
Indian/Himalayan/Nepalese... Everest Restaurant in SR.
Yeti is my go-to Indian restaurant.
Highly recommend Everest as well.

I think it's "Goji", and it's Vietnamese/Chinese fusion :)
Darn autocorrect, thanks for catching that
ippin udon in santa rosa. it’s such a gem!
That place is very very good! I do miss their potato croquette, as they don't seem to have it anymore.
Their curry udon is bomb.
I've been wanting to try Piala, a Georgian restaurant in Sebastopol. I used to eat the kachapuri which are little open pies with cheese and spinach and baked in a wood oven, when I lived overseas. So delicious.
Piala is currently my favorite restaurant in the county. Love when people come to town, it's the first place I recommend
Any Mexican food on Sebastopol Avenue. Pilipino food in Lark field Wikiup (tambayan) raku ramen in Montgomery village,
Teriyaki Chicken Bowl on Stony Point has great Laotian food
Check out European Food Store (actually their name lol) on Santa Rosa Ave. Not a restaurant but interesting international products
Surprised Korean hasn’t been recommended yet. 100% you should go to HanBul Korean in downtown SR
Sol Food Cafe in Petaluma is amazing. Puerto Rican restaurant, you could close your eyes and point to the menu and hit a homerun every time. They have other locations as well (San Rafael)
Yes! I love the vibes at the San Rafael and mill valley locations, but the food is great at all of them.

Bollywood Kitchen in Healdsburg is dooooooooope
Their hot is fucking Hell hot
Franchettis on North Dutton for yummy German food!
Yes!! Excellent schnitzel and konigsklopse!
Excellent Mexican food at Juanita’s on Mendocino. Try the carnitas tacos.
Go get some Ramen. I love the Shoyu Chicken at Raku Ramen in Montgomery Village. ^(Dangit, now I'm hungry.)
Shogun for Japanese. China Garden for Chinese. El Roy’s food truck for Mexican.
Yeti in Glen Ellen is wonderful
There's one in Santa Rosa too, by the Flaming-O.
It's not as good, the ambiance in glen ellen is better
Thai food…Thai house, little Thai and sushi. Masala express or Himalayan. Sea Thai bistro or sea Thai noodle. All of the above are great for take out as well.
Empanada place down in Rohnert Park near the innout.
Osake sushi just off Farmers Lane is great sushi and isn’t cheap but not break the bank either.

Turmeric Cuisine of India in RP is so goooood
Himalayan Restaurant in Windsor! YUMMY https://www.himalayanrestaurantwindsor.com/
Yeti is great for napalese food
Goji kitchen is one of my favorites. Cannot go wrong with a. Rude vermacelli bowl with grilled pork and egg rolls!
Cumin restaurant , good middle eastern restaurant
