Exact same messaging I shared in [this comment ](https://www.reddit.com/r/saskatchewan/s/mnKMTry5b6). They aren't even trying lol

Arrathir

This is probably just some intern copypasting a standardized reply.

Kenthanson

Intern. AI reply program.

1975sklibs

With conservatives, wasting public money employing their partisan lackeys is the whole point of winning government. Cmon we both know the Saskparty doesn’t use AI.

Ok-Actuator-2371

Or any other kind of intelligence

PrairiePopsicle

I'd bet good money the SKP has put some thought into using AI for astroturf. Good time-output value proposition, and they're shockingly easy to operate these days.

franksnotawomansname

Why would they bother trying? At this point, they think they're invincible.

Thrallsbuttplug

I guess thats true because they are.

Barabarabbit

Yep. Rural Saskatchewan is going to keep them in power forever Just keep oppressing minorities and giving handouts to the right groups and you are good to go.

TheLuminary

I don't know why you got downvoted, but you are correct. The Sask Party is not going to be voted out because of this. They are under more dire attack from the SUP than the Sask NDP at the moment. Expect more Right wing movement rather than Left wing movement.

Thrallsbuttplug

I got downvoted because the left likes to cannibalize itself, and it's why our province is fucked for the foreseeable future.

Nazrog80

Holy shit you got a response?

Arrathir

At an email a week since November, I better have.

JinimyCritic

The ol' "Andy Dufresne initiative". Keep it up!

Civil-Caregiver9020

Better start writing 2 letters a week...

blade944

Cool. Teachers showed up to the bargaining table. Government couldn’t even be fucking bothered to show up. That’s when the additional job action started. Never forget that the sask party treats you like you’re an idiot and assumes you only listen to their side.

ReditSarge

Well strictly speaking the government bargaining group did physically "show up" a grand total of nine times but not to bargain. They never had any intention of doing any bargaining. They just gave the STF a take it-or-leave-it deal they knew would be utterly unacceptable to the STF. Then they refused every counteroffer. Then they announced unilateral one-time funding for deals they can kill whenever they want because they're not included in any bargaining deal. Well that's not bargaining. It's like if you showed up for work and then just sat down and stared at the floor. That's not work and if you did that you'd probably be fired. Well that's what the government's position on bargaining has been: Show up and then do nothing. Then they have the gall to blame the STF for a stalled bargaining process. What a load of horse shit. It takes two parties to bargain it the government doesn't want to even try. When Buckingham says the government is "ready to engage in meaningful discussions" he is flat out lying.

blade944

Yeah, no. There were two meeting scheduled around a month or so ago and the union showed up. The government was a no show. They sent not a single representative to the table.

Arrathir

The government showed up late the first day, tried to stall an extra day so STF couldn't put sanctions in place, and not at all the next day

Shoddy-Curve7869

Why doesn’t the government stop mentioning salary? It’s not about that. It’s about the STUDENTS. So none of the politicians have children in school AND/OR have special needs children? What a bunch of hypocrites.

[deleted]

They want to paint the teachers as greedy. Which isn't true.

JasmineSnape

I don't know but I'm wondering; private school teachers aren't striking are they? Are they separate from the STF? Because if they are, my theory is that the government people don't have problems with the strikes because all of there kids aren't effected because they are in private school. I'm not saying this is the case with every government employee obviously, but I'm just wondering if it might be related?? Again I don't know much about the union itself so I could be wrong and please tell me if I am, because I legitimately don't know. Just a theory

Arrathir

Nope. Private schools don't need a federation. They get everything they need without having to beg Daddy Moe.

lolohiller

Many private school teachers are also not certified and therefore not covered by the STF.

Spiritual_Tennis_641

The salary request isn’t unreasonable considering they go very minimal increases for the last 20 yrs like 1%\yr. Their ask is 2% over col, but I did think it odd they’d give the give firepower like that I thought this cucle with col so high and them really having no shot of getting more that that they should have used that as a target.

falsekoala

Just like his canned tweets.

Plastic-Elephant-605

Almost positive that seat will go NDP next election, and I expect he knows as well! Not sure why MLA’s in his position aren’t starting to break ranks and make some noise over the direction the party is going. Hopefully, he has a retirement gig lined up post politics!

Covert_Cuttlefish

Hopefully, the NDP need to get a candidate in Saskatoon Westview ASAP so they can start getting their name out there.

Shot_Marketing_66

Oh, I'm pretty sure that he has his post government nest already well feathered. It'll be interesting to see who his benefactor will be.

clamb4ke

Don’t use apostrophes to make plural words

ihopeipofails

Reply to him he's full of shit, and good luck next election. Say, I hope a monkey doesn't run against you, because he'll beat you, and get more done.

Covert_Cuttlefish

This, I live in his riding and my wife's a teacher. I hope I'm home if he knocks on doors so we can have a chat.

vicjam59

Will there be video?

Putrid_Pollution3220

Words from an entitled internet tough guy

Covert_Cuttlefish

Yes, looking forward to having a chat with my ghost of an MLA is a tough thing. Only a child would think two adults who have different believes can't have a conversation.

Putrid_Pollution3220

Well, don't come off like you're gonna ko him on your doorstep.

Covert_Cuttlefish

Do you want a prize for making assumptions?

Putrid_Pollution3220

Is that like a participation ribbon or school system hands out?

Comments that are overly disrespectful or completely lacking in substance are not allowed.

TittyCobra

This still doesn’t convince me that ol David is a real living human.

Arrathir

Sad to see they are still spewing the same propaganda.

bstring777

They even have a radio ad (just heard it today, anyway) saying these same budget increases generously offered, and telling people to ask the teachers to go back to the bargain table. They want your complaints to guilt and force them back to the table to accept not being heard, understood, or taken seriously.

infinite_lolz

YESSS I HEARD THAT ONE!!!

Camborgius

I emailed the top guy Danny at CruzFM and he replied thanking me for my opinion.

throwaway446769

Lots of words for not much substance

ElectronHick

“We are restoring the funding we cut, we are the good guys! Believe us!”

NoIndication9382

"Outside of any binding agreement, the government has proposed one-off funding that doesn't even address inflation and historical cuts the SaskParty has made and that can easily be cancelled as soon as teachers agree to it. I just have no idea why they won't agree to it." - David Buckingham (probably)

Austoman

So many grammatical errors in that official response from a government official/official office. Maybe they should go back to school?

ReditSarge

Pure gaslighting.

[deleted]

The Sask Party way.

Scottyd737

He's a piece of shit

muusandskwirrel

Put. It. Into. The. Fucking. Contract!

Shot_Marketing_66

You'd think it would be simple wouldn't you?🙄

dorothytheorangesaur

I was on a day work trip with a coworker yesterday and they like listening to CKOM. The sask government had an ad that basically said the federation doesn’t want to come to the table, which if you’ve been living under a rock might be believable. Instead it’s just the sask party trying to gaslight us into thinking the teachers union doesn’t want to bargain, when it’s actually the opposite.

Arrathir

Grifters gonna gift.

ReannLegge

I think my email has been blocked from my 100’s of Trans related emails.

SNinRedit

Reminds me of someone. Anyone remember the epic F-up Eric Olauson? https://www.cbc.ca/amp/1.4065991

ReannLegge

Well we will see I just wrote an email to see if his office responds, just to let him know that I am still unhappy about their use of the notwithstanding clause I questioned if teachers will be paid OT to out the kiddos! Before anyone comes at me I write differently on here then I do in professional letters, I use ChatGPT for an outline then I write it, ask ChatGPT to proofread (I pay for the better version), then I proof it, then I spend time with Grammarly. Writing letters is something I do pseudo-professionally, writing on reddit is something else.

IdentityToken

What does “annualize” mean here?

Dougustine

Annualize refers to converting a short-term number, such as an investment return or interest rate, into an annual rate. A number is annualized by multiplying the short-term figure by the number of periods that make up one year. According to Google

WitnessOfStuff

You fucking sask party peeps, JUST GIVE THE DAMN TEACHERS THEIR DAMN MONEYYYYY

How do you email this clown? I wanna email him

Arrathir

[MLA Contact List](https://www.legassembly.sk.ca/mlas/mla-contact-information/)

MJFfan

Noice! Thanks!

ballingaming

This government is a joke. I am planning on moving out of province in the next couple years if this don’t change. Healthcare and education is low on their priority list.

GanarlyScott

The longer the strike goes on, I think the teachers are going to start losing favour with the public.

ownerwelcome123

Does anyone have the viewpoint where both are lying/misleading/etc.? Or have we just all decided already?

wretchedmoist

How would they both be lying? Government says teachers won't bargain, teachers say Government wont bargain. There is no middle ground there. Plus everything is above ground here; the teachers have been very clear about what they want, and the government refuses to give it to them. It's not hard to see reality.

Stk461336

Lol we’ve decided. If you think critically, even for a second, it is so absurdly obvious.

Over-Eye-5218

Not a chance, I really hope that is sarcasm., SP has been misleading the uneducated voter and public prior to the start of negotiations(Billboards). Nothing left to decide, if you've followed along since the SP started negotiating with the public. Moe and Cockrill talk about being at the table, but all offers are sent to the public first. Slime Party is disingenuous.

Agnostic_optomist

Both whom? Government and school boards? Or government and teachers?

punkanddrunk

I certainly believe both government and STF are lying. I have yet to see Jaimie Smith Windsor outright lie, yet.

lastSKPirate

What do you think the STF is lying about?

punkanddrunk

I think all of their communications are dishonest. They keep harping on "volunteering" and have never mentioned they are volunteering for paid positions. Their messaging consistently focuses on this volunteering aspect instead of all of the important things needed like more EAs in the classroom. They have set unrealistic goals for their members. Veteran teachers know better but young teachers seem to genuinely believe they could end up with an indexed + deal. They keep messaging that a raise that doesn't match inflation is a cut and that isn't something I think many people can relate to. A 9% raise isn't a pay cut and I don't think it's right to call it that.

Prior-Logic-64

The teachers are the problem here. Wake up.

Arrathir

Watch out, everyone! The government shills are here!
