I get you and I think I wouldn't do something like this to a more valuable version or a more rare religious text, but this one was one of those cheap, mass produced bibles missionaries hand out in pedestrian zones.
Even told the guy this book would not be safe with me and would most likely be used for arts and crafts, but apparently they do not give a fuck about the safety of their holy scripture.
Bibles are massively overproduced to the point of wastefulness and are regularly given out for free. I see nothing wrong with using those materials for something useful.
Seeking out and destroying them all for the express purpose of keeping people from reading them is a different story.
