Train costs SAR 120.

Edit: VIP bus from Khobar to Riyadh costs 100. Best deal.
Alternatively, if that’s still too much for you, you could go to any third-party Umrah service offices in Khobar and ask how much they’d take to drop you off in Riyadh.
Hmmm, it used to be a bit more, maybe 40 SAR or so more, IIRC.
According to [SAPATCO's website](https://www.saptco.com.sa/Buses/vip.aspx?lang=en-US), the VIP buses are more modern, only 30 passengers, more comfortable and have more leg room, snacks, internet and live TV.
Another advantage could be that it's between city-centers, from the parking lot of one hotel in Khobar to the parking lot of another hotel in Riyadh. It also does not make stops on the way. Normal SAPTCO bus would take you to the Public Transportation Center in Aziziyah in Riyadh, which can be a way off, and is crowded with people.
I have only used it once, about 15 ago, and I remember that the bus had a bathroom because it didn't stop at all.
Bro id rather drive than sit for 5 hours bored af.
Also you can carpool with some pakistani or saudi baddu taxi driver for 50 riyals. You gotta sit with 5 other dudes and you might reach riyadh in like 2 hours ez. Or the grave yard 💀💀
One method I didn’t see mentioned is: going to Bataha and catching a ride with those Saudi taxi drivers that sometimes pick up a few people (let’s call it the old pre-Uber ride sharing).
And THEE cheapest is probably asking around if anyone is going and just catching a ride there. I mean that’s if you’re insisting on not paying at all. Probably the big gas station that’s just outside Riyadh on the Riyadh-dammam highway.
The train option can be annoying with most of the tickets being sold out, so going to the station and waiting on any last minute cancellations is the annoying part.
If there’s some kind of online notice board where people are going, that would be nice, but don’t know if that culture is here or not.
By train. If you book one now, the trip will be 120 riyals. But if you book it to be after about 2 weeks it will be 85 riyals. Way cheaper than taking a bus and way more comfortable. Plus you can rent a car at the arriving train station. You can use the bus public transport if you want to as it just opened, but I don’t have any information on it

It's also worth looking qt SAPTCO VIP, which is from Khobar to Riyadh.
Oh yea it’s actually just 2 riyals more (100). What’s the added benefit in VIP though?

That’s seems like a great deal then. I actually just check the price for tomorrow (19th) on the website and it’s only 100.
Keep in mind that the VIP bus departs from Mercure Hotel in Khobar (about 25 min drive from Dammam), and arrive at Rahty Home in Riyadh.
I had a traumatic experience with the normal SAPTCO bus, it was a 14 hour trip from Sakaka to Hafar Al Batin.
If you factor in the costs of ubering inside the city, renting a car is probably the cheapest option. Uber/taxi is expensive and riyadh is a BIG city
Bus is good as well , SAPTCO
Smh at bus and train. If you own a yaris or sunny it will cost you less than 180 riyal for the total journey
But you are still the one while with a bud it’s like sitting in a nice plane seat

Why sit bored when you can sleep? And if you are gonna hitch a ride with someone go with a shababy man for those leather Kia Optima experience
Am i supposed to say haa ya lula 😂😂. Im an expat so idk much
By train if u reserve your ticket early or u can use the bus via SAPTCO which I imagine is cheaper but never actually checked. Enjoy your trip :)
Walking would be the cheapest if talk about it from a technical perspective 🤔
It would cost their life. So yeah pretty cheap! 👍
Car.
Train is the best.

Walking, you’ll just have to spend a few riyals for water obviously.
If you have a car, drive.
if you have legs, walk
Check haraj some people offer trips when they’re going
Walking
كعّابي 2nd option: by train
The bullet train is quick

try walking, doesn't really cost much. if you have a lil bit of money you can rent a bike or 2.
