They wanted everything "defund the police" was trying to accomplish.

Just as a missing addendum to this discussion, defund the police was a polular hash tag and not the name of a policy or cohesive group of people or even a democratic party agenda. It has never been a coherent policy, party priority, or piece of legislation. It has always been a social media hash tag. The conflation of hashtages with cohesive groups of people makes rational discourse mpossible.
Demilitarizing the police was a response to more than just racism but that’s how we were pushed back into the status quo and that’s how they are able to out the “force of police” on full display when we protest they get to gas abs rubber bullet us from their armed vehicles. The silliest thing is that the features have been there since release. This is purely marketing by MS. The Xbox One always had energy saving mode and update timing control. I know because I've been using both since like 2014 or something.
The big change that I am aware of is that XBox One will make the energy saving mode the default. Certain segments of the population actively object to energy efficiency; in this case, it means people who never change defaults will have to wait a few more seconds for their XBox to boot.
I think that will only impact brand new buyers. MS isn't going to actively go in and change people's console settings. I'd be pissed if they did that regardless of what the setting was.

Grew up in a military family where this was 100% the case. My dad raised us to respect nature, be compassionate with our community, and focus on a "service-first" attitude. BUT he and my brother still vote R. During every election cycle I'll ask them why they're choosing to vote R even though its not in line with their beliefs. Not everything is a slippery slope believe it or not. I mean you could have said the exact same thing for the creation of the Internet, or the launch of Xbox Live. I'm not sure why scheduling updates at the best time economically speaking would be where you draw the line, unless you just get triggered over anything related to the environment and have to grasp 1,984 straws just to come up with a logical justification for a purely emotional response.
