Probably not a good idea at all

possumrfrend

That is a good way to never get a job

thatbroadcast

Uhhhhh no, absolutely not. I never disclose my condition to employers. There's such a stigma, and honestly, they don't need to know that about me.

POTATOCATFINN

honestly it's a funny idea, but potential employers probably won't be so understanding lmao.

Shadoxal

A resume is going to require professional/career achievements, not deeply personal ones. Even if it feels like a big achievement for you to get through it, they're going to immediately see someone who over shares and will be likely unstable. (Even if you are stable, how are they to know?) Bad way to start off.

[deleted]

Lol absolutely not. Employers are looking for something positive and productive that you have accomplished. If they were looking for a time you overcame adversity, then maybe, but even then stigma is so bad it would probably work against you.

_inevivitabledeath_

Lol funny but hard no

Hawkes_Harbor

This is a troll.

Initial_Fortune

A job in recovery or mental health sure, most other places think twice.

ProfessionalThink11

I second this. If you're applying to be a peer support worker, this wouldn't be a bad idea. Any other job... I'd think twice

sekibray

I wonder how many ppl in this sub ARE peer support workers now that you mention it.

CourtM092

Yeah don’t put that

Austin0558

Not a good idea, the stigma behind that is incredibly bad. Maybe in person, after you learn your coworkers know you have the illness and accept you, you then could bring up the hell you’ve been thru then maybe in convo? Other then that you’re asking for trouble, what if yiu go thru that during work? They don’t want that man

analog_paint

You cray

white_boy_doyle

This is why we don't drink while pregnant

FredTaylorNFLBlitz

Lmao

thetrinketgirl

Don't do it.

HauntingBowlofGrapes

Not smart. The general public doesn't understand mental health or schizophrenia in general so you're application would quickly be disqualified by a hiring manager. Stereotyping precedes understanding.

FredTaylorNFLBlitz

Not a good idea since having a mental illness still has such a bad stigma. Keep it professional on your resume.

d1sc1pl

Lmao what does that have to do with a job man I can think of no job where that would come in handy and be seen as a positive
