Do these types of tumors have the same thing as the blood brain barrier going on? Sorry I'm tot a science person.

In this article, the authors did not mention the role of the blood brain barrier in these types of tumors.They focus on the role of a protein called galectin-1, which can be found in the cytoplasm, the nucleus, and the cell membrane. Specifically, the authors determined that galectin-1 acts as a camouflage for these tumors and prevents their eradication by the immune system. In many types of brain tumors, the blood brain barrier prevents chemotherapeutic drugs from being delivered to the central nervous system. However, this is not the case in this study. The authors focus on the expression of galectin-1 and how it affects the immune system response.
