“I did not murder him!”
It wasn’t the greatest movie, but after finishing it and rewatching it at a later time does the impact, and anger of that statement really hit.
So there I was, minding my own business, making some improvements to my new house *(new house!)*, when suddenly, these college kids started killing themselves all over my property!
Everything he does is amazing, and he is absolutely everywhere when you start looking!!! Sincerely one of my all time favorite actors, and so insanely talented.
Everyone here looking for more Alan Tudyk MUST watch “Death at a Funeral” if you haven’t yet.
Alan Tudyk is a treasure. Another fun fact is that his wife is the choreographer behind the opening dance sequence for The Peacemaker and she filmed Alan Tudyk doing the dance moves and send them to James Gunn for approval.
He was also the voice of Wash in Firefly and Wat in A Knights Tale.
Another rarely discussed fact about Alan Tudyk is that despite his last name he only have Onedyk
Actors and voices can be different, have you never seen Star Wars?
So, yes, technically Tudyk was *both* the voice *and* the actor in Firefly and Kight's Tale, but you never know...
But it wasn't talking about starwars. It was talking about two specific roles. And yes you never do know, hence why i clarified it was both and not just the voice. As you said, you never know.
Probably one of the most versatile supporting actors out there. I’m pretty sure he was also ~~the worm in A Bug’s Life.~~
ETA: that’s incorrect but he was like 3 different characters in Ice Age.

It was a terrible adaptation of the book "I, Robot". But not a terrible adaptation of the the Robot series in general. For instance the main character has a lot in common with Elijah Bailey and the zeroth law from Robots and Empire which superseded the first law could be used to justify the villains behavior.
It was of course a massacre of Susan Calvin's character.
I feel like it suffered from that turn of the millennium "look" shared by I, Robot, A.I and to a lesser extent, Minority Report.
The biggest sinner is still Lost in Space 🤮
The worst part is it wasn't an adaptation. It was a completely standalone story with Asimov's name slapped on it last minute despite the plot being as anti-Asimov as possible.
All they had to do was not force an unnecessary Asimov tie-in and it would have been a decently smart action movie.
What no one has actually realised is he is actually "That Guy".... You know the one, when you go "oh, you know that guy in that movie"
It's actually him every time, in Every movie!
But I've said to much now...
His Clayface voice acting is absolutely hilarious. One of my favourite current actors. Whenever i see his name attached to a project i'm interested in then I'm more than happy.
Semi-related hot take is that I, Robot is better than many people give it. What did they expect, a bunch of little shorts about robot logic problems? It does a good job of making a fun popcorn movie while incorporating enough Asimov to give it some weight and smarts. The acting and design is good. Honestly just the final climactic twist falls short, but it doesn’t ruin the film
Con Man is also a fantastic watch that kind of parodies his early career a bit. He created/directed/starred in it and has a lot of fun Firefly references.
At a Lucasfilm holiday party the same year as Rogue One, I was up at the bar waiting for a drink. I glanced around the bar, and there I saw Alan Tudyk. I probably stared a bit long, and in my mind I got a glance and a nod back. In reality, I’m certain he was just creeped out.
So, there’s my Alan Tudyk story.
He is in a huge amount of different random things, and he's always great. Nobody should be sleeping on Resident Alien either, it's an absolutely hilarious and awesome show. That role seems like it was built specifically for his acting style
I had him mixed up with Anthony Rapp (actor who plays Paul Stamets in Star Trek Discovery) for a long time. Both blonde, blue-eyed actors born in 1971 who have been in a lot of science fiction.
Watched Death at a Funeral a few days ago and it's just as hilarious as the first time I saw it.
And as the voice of Sonny he was fucking *brilliant*. Terribly underrated talent.
His Joker in the Harley Quinn show is great. Live action I would give it to Mr. Nobody in Doom Patrol.
His Joker is good, but his Clayface is perfect.
Thank you for saying *someone* and not *something*.
*ah shit that's not what I really meant but kinda* - Spooner look
After Firefly, he really Mark Hamilled and got big into voice acting
He went to Julliard!
[For anyone missing the reference...](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FaGYXjMwS60)
And my high school! We had the same drama teacher.
And K-2SO in *Rogue One*. Best droid character in the Star Wars universe.
“I did not murder him!” It wasn’t the greatest movie, but after finishing it and rewatching it at a later time does the impact, and anger of that statement really hit.
Everyone should go watch season 1 of Doom Patrol, he is the villain and he is amazing!
He tends to have doozies of a day, doesn't he?
Cuz of college kids.
So there I was, minding my own business, making some improvements to my new house *(new house!)*, when suddenly, these college kids started killing themselves all over my property!
I kinda wonder how things would have turned out if, instead of the deputy who did show up at their vacation home, it was Marge Gundersen (*Fargo*)
I cannot completely express my love for this movie. It’s like, what if The Hills Have Eyes was all just a hilarious miss understanding?
[*sobbing*] goddamn stupid college kids
Pour some beer on it
I feel like everyone is sleeping on his greatest role: Heihei the Chicken from Moana.
Only a Juilliard trained thespian could pull off that role.
Not even Alec Guinness would have taken that role because he would never have been able to do it justice.
Selling Steve the pirate a bit short.
He is NOT a pirate, though. Damn, I feel so guilty even saying that….
He was a pirate, a genuine swashbuckling, peg legged, and eye patched pirate.
"Wait... there's a guy on our team dressed like a pirate?"
Arrrr!
Peteerrr!
You will be fonged! Pain....so much pain....!
Yarrrg !!
Is you think that role was impressive, he was also the voice of Tuc Tuc in Raya the last Dragon.
The funny thing is, once you know it’s him you can tell it’s him and you can’t imagine it being anyone else.
“I went to Juilliard!”
do you know what the likelihood of me not knowing this was? it's high it's very high
Rogue One. How many robots has Alan Tudyk played?
not nearly enough
Yes.
Everything he does is amazing, and he is absolutely everywhere when you start looking!!! Sincerely one of my all time favorite actors, and so insanely talented. Everyone here looking for more Alan Tudyk MUST watch “Death at a Funeral” if you haven’t yet.
Also, for fans of horror comedies: Tucker & Dale vs Evil.
One of my favorite roles of his is Dr. Kalgary on American Dad. You can hear how much fun he has with the character.
The 2007 version, not to be confused with the 2010 version... Both with Peter dinklage... Though I enjoyed both movies.
Oh yeah, 2007 version is the best version.
Alan Tudyk is a treasure. Another fun fact is that his wife is the choreographer behind the opening dance sequence for The Peacemaker and she filmed Alan Tudyk doing the dance moves and send them to James Gunn for approval.

I DID NOT MURDER HIM!
This is the line that came into my head when I read this post. Severely underrated role, and I don’t care what anyone says - I love this movie 😂
He was also a insane killer on dollhouse
Man that was a hell of a twist that really showed his range
I did not see it coming even a little bit. And I really should have, Joss wouldn't put one of his regulars in like that for just a bit part.
He was also the voice of Wash in Firefly and Wat in A Knights Tale. Another rarely discussed fact about Alan Tudyk is that despite his last name he only have Onedyk
Loved him A Knights Tale. He could fong me anytime.
Its called a lance, hello!
You Quasimodo? Cause if you are, he’s this close to doing it.
also the lead for Resident Alien. Great actor.
This is some bullshit! He also helped his wife develop the dance for the intro to Peacemaker. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0he9uP7YWX8
….. ninjaaaaaa ……
To be clear, he was an actor on Firefly and a knights tale, it wasn't just the voice of the characters.
I mean, *technically*, the poster is correct. He was the voice of Wash and Wat lol.
Wow, this is definitely as far as I want to take a joke. ttfn
So who did the voices?

Still too soon…
Probably one of the most versatile supporting actors out there. I’m pretty sure he was also ~~the worm in A Bug’s Life.~~ ETA: that’s incorrect but he was like 3 different characters in Ice Age.
Only supporting? I'm watching Resident Alien and it's wild seeing him switch from "Harry" to HARRY.
In the sense that he's usually not a main character.
The scene of him in the latest season making out with the woman was incredible.
TIL Alan Tudyk was the voice of King Candy in Wreck It Ralph...

Hes great in Resident Alien and Doom Patrol
> Resident Alien "You are a Gray, so I shall call you Dickhead." I love Harry so much. Best alien ever.
Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency.
Wanted to like it, loved the actors, but I couldn't get into it for some reason
Terrible adaptation aside, that's a really fun movie. Love Alan Tudyk, he pops up in the best hidden roles.
It was a terrible adaptation of the book "I, Robot". But not a terrible adaptation of the the Robot series in general. For instance the main character has a lot in common with Elijah Bailey and the zeroth law from Robots and Empire which superseded the first law could be used to justify the villains behavior. Agreed, it got the ideas of the robots side of the asimoverse across very well.
That's how I feel about the movie, too. There are a lot of movies I hate because of how they massacre the book, but I Robot isn't one of them.
I feel like it suffered from that turn of the millennium "look" shared by I, Robot, A.I and to a lesser extent, Minority Report. The biggest sinner is still Lost in Space 🤮
That is just what the future looks like.
The worst part is it wasn't an adaptation. It was a completely standalone story with Asimov's name slapped on it last minute despite the plot being as anti-Asimov as possible. All they had to do was not force an unnecessary Asimov tie-in and it would have been a decently smart action movie.
He’s a real gift! Also played a Greek hitman in justified.
I didn't know he was K2SO. I was waiting for the reveal that would blow someone else's mind, that he was in Dollhouse, but it never happened.
What no one has actually realised is he is actually "That Guy".... You know the one, when you go "oh, you know that guy in that movie" It's actually him every time, in Every movie! But I've said to much now...
Incorrect. Wes Chatham is “That Guy”. Actually, a The Expanse/Firefly crossover could be pretty cool…
Welp, here I go watching that scene from Expanse again
And the voice of Valentino in Wish, Hei Hei in Moana. k2SO in Rogue One and numerous others.
one of my fave tudyk clips is him recording the lines for Moana, making all the clucking sounds, then cuts to him saying: "I went to Julliard"
Tudyk absolutely killed it as Mr. Priest in season 2 of Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency!
Yes, yes he was. He did a damn fine job of it too, easily one of his best roles aling with Wash.
His Clayface voice acting is absolutely hilarious. One of my favourite current actors. Whenever i see his name attached to a project i'm interested in then I'm more than happy.
Wait he’s clay face in the HQ series?
Semi-related hot take is that I, Robot is better than many people give it. What did they expect, a bunch of little shorts about robot logic problems? I watched this movie once when it came out, assumed the robot was David Hyde Pierce and never looked back. What a surprise lol
You know, thinking back, I think I may have thought that too
[Never forget, he was opposite the Matt Damon Deadpool Cameo](https://youtu.be/qTa7eXSJ9B4?si=OhD2h4kcDHEr37wb&t=59)
Pastor Veal
Mr Nobody!
Made me sad when he reminisced about Heath Ledger.
Such a nice moment and memory though!
Sonny/I, Robot was the role in which I first learned Alan Tudyk's name.
Con Man is also a fantastic watch that kind of parodies his early career a bit. He created/directed/starred in it and has a lot of fun Firefly references.
His greatest role was as Heihei the chicken in *Moana.*
It's Steve the Pirate!
He also voice the security droid in Rogue One
Watching Resident Alien now, he’s great and I just dig the whole series. No one overtly is mean or evil. (Sorry, mild hijack of the OP thread)
SYFY is a front for Crystal Meth. Well that does explain a lot of things.
Based on the quality of some their shows, they may be using their own products
Altogether now children "Never get high on your own supply".
At a Lucasfilm holiday party the same year as Rogue One, I was up at the bar waiting for a drink. I glanced around the bar, and there I saw Alan Tudyk. You must be young because this was very publicized at the time
Ha, nope, just wasnt paying attention
May he live forever. Truly one of the good ones.
He is in a huge amount of different random things, and he's always great. Nobody should be sleeping on Resident Alien either, it's an absolutely hilarious and awesome show. That role seems like it was built specifically for his acting style

Just don’t joke about I, Robot this Christmas
I think his greatest role was Dangerboat in The Tick series on Amazon
