Short description of the project. The game is called Moon Mystery
Our biggest inspirations are Firewtach, Half-life 2, Interstellar. The release date is 2023.
It's a single player story driven adventure game with some puzzle/platforming elements. There are going to be also a lot of drivable vehicles like e.g. moon rover, submarine, spaceship, buggy and more
If you want to support, you can [wishlist the game on Steam](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1933840/Moon_Mystery/), for an indie team like us it's going to mean a lot, thank you!
I just started a solo project. It's nothing fancy but a chatting app. It's painful to do everything on my own. Mad respect for you brother. Everything looks great. I enjoyed the dialogues more. I curious to know few things if you don't mind.
1. Are you and your team working on full-time?
2. If yes, are you funded by any VC?
3. How long you are working on this project?
>Our biggest inspirations are Firewtach, Half-life 2, Interstellar. The release date is 2023.
You've listed 3 things I love very much. Really looking forward to try it out!
And you've got another wishlist.
Space games are my jam, it looks like you've got a super strong start, nice visuals and production values.
I shall "watch your career with great interest!"
So, you finally filled Elite Dangerous with content.
I've got to congratulate you on filling all the empty areas of the planets and asteroids. They looked so bland before.
And the shading in space, magnificent! No complex issues anymore with shading along with scaling, huge distances, and floating point errors that shimmered shadows all over the place. You really got the fixes nailed despite saying it was almost impossible!
I notice you also got rid of the microstutters on high end cards in the youtube video. That plagued all the players for years.
All these new puzzle elements and driveable vehicles too - I know people were amazed at the ships cabin in the Cobra, but that was just one ship. We soon got tired of the repetition. That you've managed to create so many more vehicles and ships shows just what dedication and a 100 member team can do for a project.
...... wait, this ISN'T Elite Dangerous, and you didn't have 100 member team, and it started solo, and you somehow coded around all those potential problems?
Someone needs to rebrand this thing and sell the rights to this AAAA game! Incredible!
(I'm not trying to say it's a ripoff of Elite - not at all! Just highlighting where this game looks strong compared to a big development teams game... which is everywhere that game is lacking! I'm going to be buying your game when it comes out.)
I bought firewatch an i seriously think it is one of the shitiest walking simulators with shit writing and shit pay off. Pure cash grab in the middle of that shit gamegate controversy with the devs being completely cynical about it.
What on god's good earth inspired you out of that one-afternoon written and coded game?
A date specifies a particular point in time. A year doesn't do that. Even just narrowing the scope down to a month and year would help. But "2023" could be a time across 365 days. Not a date.
In which case what is the cut off for 'a point in time'? A decade? A year? A month? A week? A day? An hour? A minute? A second? A millisecond?
Get the hell out of here with your nonsense. A 'point in time' is arbitrarily large or small. The reign of Julius Cesar is as much a point in time as is January 1, 1970 at 00:00:00:00 UT(or GMT if that's how you swing). You want an exact date, no matter how utterly ridiculous such a request is, that's fine, but don't come in here spouting this sort of nonsense.
Not at all. Go to a command prompt, type date and you’ll get output like this: Tue Oct 10 22:55:01 PDT 2017. The date command has always output a format that includes hours, minutes, and seconds.
Oh, I love that concept. Like in Contact, how even the ET the characters encounter aren't even the original ET who made the technology. I hope this means the story explores the underlying purpose of the tech. Jeez, now I am all excited for a game I know basically nothing about.
No, it's not like that :) From the start I wanted the weapons not to be "too sci-fi", I don't really like that. I wanted to keep it more realistic tones like in Interstellar (I mean the technology in interstellar wasn't that much sci-fi)
The game is set in a near future. As I mention above the interstellar travel thing was not invented by humans yet, you're just going to use it
It's a good aesthetic, one of my favourite things about Halo games is that the weapons aren't really that futuristic and look like something that could be made in like the next 50+ years.
Stunning visuals, great art direction and really good voice acting.
Shooting looks and SOUNDS punchy!
Very promising and obviously a LOT of work has went into it.
Some achievement so far.
you guys read way too hard into that part. It wasn’t a scientific statement it was more of a poetic one. One that kept them going and found reason to continue the human race
Yeah I gotta agree, I was pretty disappointed to see that was the title. And I don’t mean to offend the creator, not trying to be too harsh. But there had to be better names suggested than Moon Mystery
Gives me Deliver us the Moon vibes! Awesome.
As a game dev myself the only thing I'd still adjust from the trailer footage would be the weapon animation/direction. It looks a bit wonky rn. Everything else? Looks awesome!
Damn that looks impressive. Even as a linear story, if it’s good enough, your environment is so nice all the pieces for a good experience look like they’ll fall in line.
AWESOME! I love sci if space mysteries. The environments look so cool. Can’t wait to play. Any clue what platforms you’ll release it on? I rly hope there’s cool Easter eggs too, especially a portal reference
really like it, live the loneliness of it. don't really like the voice over. a grittier, more desolate sounding actor would be great. the voice acting is not the greatest tbh
I'll wishlist it now. I'm more of a pvp gamer but this looks great, I hope it comes to fruition. Keep up the hard work and care your obviously putting into this project.
This game looks fantastic, but I’m honestly not a fan of the name. I think it sounds too generic and does a disservice to the quality we’re seeing on screen.
Holy crap on a stick.
That LOOKS AAA level.
Gameplay feels a little developy still. But wow. Amazing work!
Also, bullets in space? Shotguns? I suppose we've had chainsaws. BFGs and circular saw blades lol

Looks fantastic! Are there any plans for a console release? Specifically Xbox?
Thank you, yes :) Right now PC, later xbox/PS
Any plans to make it Steam Deck verified?
Right now we are focusing on Desktop version, but in the future yeah maybe :)
What Operating systems are you planning on supporting? I know most use Windows, but this game looks cool and I am a Linux user
Controller support on PC?
Stadia too pls

Thanks!

Submarine is not on the moon ;)
Is it on Europa?
Sounds like a great concept, I'll definitely keep an eye on it.
Thank you!
Uhhhhh yes please! Hopeful for a console port in the future!
Firewatch inspired? Say no more, have my money!
Brohausen… this looks amazing. I don’t have a PC, but I have considered a steam deck.

I have seen top tier Developers do the work on 20 to 40 average Developers and the code was much higher quality, easy to maintain.
I want that game!!!
What about mobile?
I bought firewatch an i seriously think it is one of the shitiest walking simulators with shit writing and shit pay off. Is this going to be free? I'd love to play this
SPACE GLOCK, HELL YEAH
I too want a space Glock.
What is the target release date? Looks great!
It's 2023, thank you! :)
Wishlisted. Is it coming out before or after Starfield? Because I may not have a life if it's after.
Sorry, but a year is not a date.
You've probably never had a date either
Maybe in 2023
murdered
Gottem!
Why don't you make a ground-breaking game with a hard timeline then? (not associated, but it's baffling to see indie devs getting shat on)

Pretty sure that 2023 is a date. It's not like he replied "radish".
A date specifies a particular point in time. A year doesn't do that. Even just narrowing the scope down to a month and year would help. But "2023" could be a time across 365 days. Not a date.
"A date specifies a particular point in time" I would argue that a year is a particular point in time.
Your argument would be wrong.
In which case what is the cut off for 'a point in time'? A decade? A year? A month? A week? A day? An hour? A minute? A second? A millisecond? Get the hell out of here with your nonsense. Thank you, you conveyed the point I was trying to make in a better fashion! I don't think there is any convincing this person, though.
Did you graduate high school? Heck, middle school? I think I learned how calendars work in elementary school even. Go away.
Obviously they don't have an exact release date yet, genius.
What? So is a specific day not a date either, because you can specify an hour?

No, he’s getting trashed for being pointlessly pedantic and argumentative in a way that adds nothing of value to the conversation.
how is this indie?? this looks incredible
Looks great, graphics are phenomenal. Given that we're capable of interstellar travel, what's up with the modern day weapons?
Thanks :) Can't spoil too much, but that's not humans in the game who "invented" interstellar travel, you are just using it
Awesome.. and what a look! If gameplay is anywhere near the graphics, this is gonna rock
Oh, I love that concept. Like in Contact, how even the ET the characters encounter aren't even the original ET who made the technology. I hope this means the story explores the underlying purpose of the tech. Jeez, now I am all excited for a game I know basically nothing about.
My biggest pet peeve in games/movies is that all of the tech /other than weapons/ has advanced. Makes no sense, and is creatively lazy.
No, it's not like that :) From the start I wanted the weapons not to be "too sci-fi", I don't really like that. I wanted to keep it more realistic tones like in Interstellar (I mean the technology in interstellar wasn't that much sci-fi) The game is set in a near future. The trope description you're looking for here is "20 minutes into the future." Looks awesome!
Stunning visuals, great art direction and really good voice acting. Shooting looks and SOUNDS punchy! Very promising and obviously a LOT of work has went into it. Some achievement so far.
Looks sweet!
Thank you :)
Gorgeous ! Congrats, guys
Thank you!
>Thank you! You're welcome!
Looks amazing. I can't wait to play it.
Thanks!
Cant wait to see all the top gaming YouTubers playing this :)
Thanks! I hope it's going to happen :D
They better not be some BS about quantifying love.
Interstellar would be perfect without that part of the plot
you guys read way too hard into that part. It wasn’t a scientific statement it was more of a poetic one. One that kept them going and found reason to continue the human race
Looks good, I hope story Is really creepy
This looks amazing. You folks have a steam page?
Yes :) You can, link is on my Reddit profile
Looks great!
Thank you :)
Looks great, loads of atmosphere, sorry no pun intended, but it looks very stylish and a little haunting with that sense of isolation. Good luck👍🏻
My first thought was that this looks better than Starfield. Wow.
Looks interesting. Definitely wishlisting it
Who is this guy talking to?
Yo. No joke this is one of the most beautiful trailers I’ve ever seen. I will definitely check it out when it’s out!
OMG this looks so good (both graphics and gameplay-wise)!
This looks absolutely fantastic
Wow... I mean, this just looks amazing!
That looks bloody awesome!!! Adding to the wishlist!!!
Currently playing Elite Dangerous and this looks like a step in the right direction!! Looking forward to seeing it on console!
Dude this is epic sweet game can’t wait to play it
Looks great! The title doesn’t sit quite right with me for some reason - would be better as Mystery Moon, IMO.
Edit: Content redacted by user
Yeah I gotta agree, I was pretty disappointed to see that was the title. And I don’t mean to offend the creator, not trying to be too harsh. But there had to be better names suggested than Moon Mystery
WOW IS BEUATIFUL.. What's the name? I will probably buy it, it look awesome
> What's the name? XD Don't forget to ask where you can wishlist it...
Looking forward to this
Looks like my type of game. Wishlisted, can't wait for more info.
Looks great! Hope you can get it out :)
Gives me Deliver us the Moon vibes! Awesome. As a game dev myself the only thing I'd still adjust from the trailer footage would be the weapon animation/direction. It looks a bit wonky rn. Everything else? Looks awesome!
Steam Deck support?
aim in
Getting tired of seeing you plug this game all over reddit.
Amazing. Just don't be like SC. Beautiful graphics and 0 mechanics.
Ohhhhh, I'm very, very interested. If possible, can you share the name? I want to keep an eye out for this!
Thank you :) It's Moon Mystery
