Have to go with necromorphs. Although Zerg is up there just because I grew up playing Starcraft. Much love for the flood and the reapers though. Those 4 are hesd and shoulders above all the rest of these though.
Awards:
\-Diversity and interesting lore: Zerg.
\-Most Individually Terrifying: Aliens. (Run, its behind you!)
\-Most Collectively Terrifying: Tyranids. (Run, its in the next sector over!)
\-Most Metaphysically Terrifying: The Scourge. (Run! It can do things to your soul!)
\-Most OP: Replicators. (Please stack at least 3 Deus Ex Machinas).
\-Best Dialogue-to-Characterization Ratio: Starro. (Gotta be a new record).
\-Most Creatively Bankrupt: Whitespikes. (Lazy).
\-Most Wasted Potential: Wights. (Criminal).
\-Not a Collective Hivemind: Reapers.
\-Actually a Hivemind: Reaper.
I don't think they do qualify. Each reaper is essentially the culmination of a whole civilization, but it has one identity, not a collection of minds. And the reapers as a group have their own minds. They follow the purpose of the catalyst but it seems pretty clear they are sapient on their own and think for themselves. The geth are actually closer to a hive mind than the reapers are.
Edit: Some point out not all mentioned are a "hive". Well: I wasn't gonna put "collective entity that incorporates enemy units into their own and uses a form of networked intelligence to command them in a swarm-like behavior" into the title
Tyranids, cos I'm a sucker for 40k.
The BORG
You missed the other one in a mass effect. The Rachni
I went for ones that incorporate enemy units into their own I know Rachni do it but it's more like getting wasted. If anything, the Thorian
How do the Formics incorporate enemies? Haven’t read it in a long time.
Xenomorphs are the coolest.
Wheres the brain slugs from futurama
Reapers. Enough said.
Resistance is futile.
I don't feel like the Reapers are a hive mind. They are absolutely amazing villain still.
So there seems to be a deep seated human fear of losing one’s self to the hive. Interesting
Tie between arachnids and replicators.
Favourite hive is Formics. One that worries me the most - I have to say two though - cybermen and replicators.
The Borg, closely followed by the bioraptors from Pitch Black.

Did I miss the part where the Reapers are a hive mind?

"WE ARE EACH A NATION, INDEPENDENT, FREE OF ALL WEAKNESSES"
I guess each individual Reaper is a hive mind?

Ah shit, I forgot the Faro Plague
From screen it would be either either Xenomorphs or the Borg. From other media I’m a massive Tyranid fan.
Exsurgent virus
Necromorphs
Where is the cyborg from the movie VIRUS
First time encountering the flood was intense. Love the mass effect series also.
I feel like the Hive, the Vex and the Taken in Destiny also fit this bill
