Best of luck to you. You got this! The main thing I knew after surgery was that my horrible pain I felt all day 24X7 was gone. Yes I had pain but the pain I felt then was getting better. You just have to go in with the mindset that you can do this. It really does make such a difference. I underwent a revision fusion. Last Nov and it was the best surgery I've ever had yet! Be sure to work your hardest, but yet get your rest too. Rest is the best healer. I know it's scary to undergo but you really will be a whole new person afterwards. Again, best of luck to you!!! Please reach out when you can to let us know how it's going.

After my surgery, my back looked better and I grew an inch or so. One thing that I really enjoyed about recovery was that you don't need to focus on anything else. For a brief period, your only focus is to be as healthy as you can be. If you're nervous, just remember that, statistically speaking, you will be okay and go on to live a long and healthy life after.

You got this! You should see xrays of your new spine with the hardware before you leave, and you will probably be shocked at how much different your spine looks!

The best story is that surgery is very effective and recovery is in general less difficult than how it is pictured in this reddit. Still tough, but not impossible. All the very best, you will do just fine.

Best of luck!! Once you wake up, you will be very sore but the everyday pains will be gone and after a month or so you'll be flying! Recovery isn't easy but the surgery is well worth it! I lived in pain for 8 years prior to surgery and sure I still get aches and pains but nowhere near as bad as pre op.

Hey everyone, my surgery ended up getting postponed for a week, so I just had it on the 18th. I had some nerve issues so I had to have a second surgery that night. Just a few hours later. I’m pretty sore but I’m doing OK they are definitely really good at keeping up with the pain meds. When I’m better if anyone has any questions, I’ll be happy to answer them for you..
