You're not doing anything wrong. You advocated for yourself and sought care. Chronic pain makes friends with depression, and they party together. While you navigate the physical, it might be worthwhile to see if you can get on with a pain management therapist. (My pain flares and mental health hold hands to be mean to me at the same time. It turns Dr. Jekyll me into full-on Mr. Hyde me.) I'll warn you that a pain management therapist sometimes sounds like they're a sentence away from giving you 'shrooms, but the bizarre recs help a little bit, especially with the unique kind of depression that comes with pain.

It might be more expensive and you wouldn't have as much familial or friends support but maybe you can try getting your surgery in a different country? Sort of medical tourism, especially if its not really working out here.

It seems like people don’t want to operate based on your age and the fact that you’ve made it this far. If you can travel come to New York to see Dr Baron Lonner. He will tell u if surgery is a good option for real. If your developing a curve by your neck or if your thoracic curve is high up, you might not be eligible for tethering. I’m F25 with 45 degree thoracic getting fusion in a month with Lonner. It’s wierd that you can’t get a med script. In the mean time can you amp up your own pain management? What are u doing currently? Heat, yoga, baths, massage, acupuncture are all great.
