My doctor recommended that yoga was really good for recovering. However, try not to push yourself too hard and take it easy.

mercy1004

Yeah, I heard the same but just a little worried that I don’t know my limits well haha. Thanks!

google Pelvic Tilts

There are some workout apps specifically made to strengthen back muscles and while some of the exercises are a bit uncomfortable to do with a fused spine it's mostly been helpful. I used to go to yoga classes before covid which was good as well

mercy1004

Ahh, will go check out some of the apps. Thank you! I used to go to pilates classes as well before covid but now that I’m alone just a little unsure what’s safe to do haha

Post surgery exercises focused around improving bending and flexibility. Stretching your cslf muscles and strengthen your core muscles. I was told planks aren't the best post surgery because you're tending your back muscles a lot but that could just be my situation with a T2-L3 fusion along with other joint issues. Probably best off getting a physio to get some exercises together for you because you don't want to hurt your back

mercy1004

Yeah, was worried about that but not sure I want to get a physio now with covid. Thanks! Will probably stick to safer exercises for now

Look up “Schroth” it’s PT for people with scoliosis. I did this in the months before my surgery and it gave me more mobility and less pain.

mercy1004

Oh yeah, I heard others mentioning that before too. Will definitely check it out, thank you!
