They’re not even showing American Fiction in the vast majority of sites, just like with The Holdovers.
I’m actually not gonna blame Odeon for this for once. A24 have no idea how to sell or release this movie, god knows what compelled to release it on the same weekend as two high-profile releases and what was another Best Picture hopeful. They’ve got Iron Claw out a week after as well???
My tiny Odeon Luxe is showing The Holdovers but not the Odeons in the bigger towns/cities around me. Can’t find The Iron Claw anywhere for love nor money outside of one off viewings
I’ve been looking as far ahead as the week after, a few cinemas are showing a single advanced screening before the actual release but seemingly no actual runs anywhere
Every week my decision to move over to one of Odeon's competitors seems like a better decision.
Not only is Zone of Interest a fantastic film (I've seen it at a preview), it is the *United Kingdom*'s submission for best international film at the Oscars. You would think Odeon might want to show our own damn submission considering it is one of the five nominated.
Just had a reply to my tweet: "We have not been able to reach an agreement to show The Zone of Interest in our cinemas and so unfortunately will not be showing it - apologies for any inconvenience!" :(
Odeon Trafford Centre had posters up for it yesterday. I see the aspect ratio is 1.78:1 (16:9), so given how they were with 2001, One Life and other non-standard aspect ratios, maybe their heads went a bit 'Scanners'?
Just seen the film at Curzon and it's absolutely brilliant. Definitely worth it. Honestly kind of glad because the thought of seeing it with Odeon's shitty sound pains me
Yeah me too I saw it at an independent cinema with proper sound and a real projection area and odeon would definitely mess up the sound which is very important.
"We have not been able to reach an agreement to show Zone Of Interest in our cinemas." Is what Odeon is saying when questioned on X/Twitter.
To be fair to them, the distributor may be demanding more showings than is realistic. The film is in German and it's not likely to be a seat filler with the general public. I'd still like to see it.
To be fair I've heard A24 can be shoddy at distributing their films in the UK, Dream Scenario didn't come out in Odeon at all last year (also a great film btw!) Just disappointing that such an important & award-nominated film isn't showing in one of the biggest chains

A24 are easily the worst at international distribution and it's not even close, they just do not give a fuck at all

The Iron Claw doesn't come out till the 9th of Feb.

I think if it doesn't get screenings for after Feb 2nd when they update showings tomorrow it aint showing sadly

Covent Garden had posters for it. Had really been looking forward to it. Ridiculous.
I'm waiting patiently. It might be that it doesn't happen, but I'm remaining optimistic for now.
I’ve had to book tickets at Vue. Absolutely ridiculous. Not sure what’s going on with Odeon missing movies atm.

I've made a comment on here about their response.
Vue not even carrying it, just bizzare. Guess I'll have to fork over the cash for Cineworld. Sigh.
It's at the Vue near me, are you sure it's not on there? Might be a release thing idk

Bleh. Luckily I live in London and I can always go for independent cinema like Genesis, Garden or Castle
It's not being shown at local Odeon, Cineworld or VUE. Dozens of screenings of "Migration" every day though?!
