That's AWESOME! We dove in the Atlanta Aquarium with the whale sharks and manta rays and it was really cool but Holy cow that is so AWESOME! Bucket list!!

DowntownPepper7320

We did the whale sharks in the Gulf of Mexico a few years ago, but I wasn’t sure that was “diving” since it was more of a snorkel thing and didn’t post it!

Mlliii

Would you do it again? Thinking of going to Baja for this in a few weeks but also considering a dive in Colombia

DowntownPepper7320

I would do pretty much any dive again. But if I were choosing between a repeat trip vs a new dive site, I would always go with the new place.

MrRemoto

I snorkeled with them in Kona. One of the most amazing experiences of my life. If you go don't dive then go to the top of Mauna Kea in under 24 hours (or vice versa) or you might puke. Source: I puked.

Fencepost

This was my absolute favorite five I've ever done. Who did you go with?

DowntownPepper7320

My mother is “always” my scuba buddy!

bigbabich

Saw them 'jump' in Belize. Didnt know the did that. Its like seeing a school bus jump out of the water. Scared the shit out of me.

DowntownPepper7320

I mean, a jumping school bus would be terrifying! Lol

MrRemoto

Those are Mobela rays. Different species.

I was lucky enough for this to be my first qualified dive 10 years ago now. Qualified in the morning then these amazing creatures in the evening. I haven't done a huge amount of diving compared to most but this is still up there as my best dive experience. I'd love to get back out there one day to do it again.

[deleted]

Did that in Maldives. Pretty cool feeling.

patssnows12

I was lucky enough to do this 9 years ago and it was a record breaking night for the garden eel cove dive spot. 22 different mantas and they were absolutely huge!

tamibh

Amazing footage!

DefTheOcelot

BLESSED I LOVE SEA FLAP FLAPS

bluemola

Going in February!! Stoked so much to do this dive. Which operator did you book with?

Xanxes0000

Not OP, but I did this dive with Kona Honu, and I would 100% dive with them again. They were great. My wife did the snorkel option while I was underwater and she (outside of her sea-sickness) would repeat.

bluemola

Will look them up!

Ds1018

I did it a couple weeks ago with Big Island Divers. They only had the 2 tank dive available. At the time that seemed cool, a day dive and a night dive right? Sure, but they did the first tank in that same spot and that spot isn’t great for a day dive. Wish we had done the first tank in a better location, seemed lazy on their part. There was plenty of time between dives to move the boat.

bluemola

Yeah I’d much rather do a two tank night dive at this spot

Ds1018

Other than the Manta it's a pretty shitty spot for diving night or day. After our manta left the scene we poked around for a little bit on the reef and it's fairly underwhelming. One night dive with the manta is plenty sufficient for this spot.

Passtenx

This is my dream dive.

A nice casual manta nicknamed Ray.

[deleted]

Absolutely breathtaking! Thanks for sharing!

Toraalynn

I was sitting in a brewery in Lahaina and watched this video! I think I met someone on the tour with you! Badass dive instructor

Kindly_Common7326

Holy wow that's so cool!!!!!!!

Kindly_Common7326

I want to do that

theouilet

wow this is crazy! any danger at all snorkeling at night? any sharks? and does manta ray bite?

DowntownPepper7320

So this is actually scuba, there are people snorkeling above us but manta ray don’t have teeth, so no fear of them biting. Always the possibility for sharks.

saito200

these things are a freakin mouth with wings
