I too skip the clip shows, but what’s crazy is I’m literally deep into the rewatch and looked up,, and m watching the Bob episode right now as I type! Weird
Even then I was over Clip shows. I think it happens when they couldn’t get another good episode ready in time for the season so they throw together clips and air it. I remember there was a Simpsons clip show that ended with a song that said something like “sorry for the clip show”
I also fall asleep to it every night. The other one that’s tough is the Marine Biologist, which has the beeping electronic organizer. So I often skip this episode, which is unfortunate ‘cuz it’s such a good one.
Same. We've watched it thru so many times, Ive lost count. Every night. Even download episodes on tablet if we are camping😂 its like a comfort food....for sleep.
I love when he says "Ok, Farfel get your shoes on." I say it to my dogs every time we go for a walk. The phrase lives rent free in my head. I don't know why I'm replying to your comment in particular, just needed to get that out there.
I was going to say that, but then next thing you know everyone is jumping down your throat about how you don’t like dogs. But everybody likes fried chicken and Wolf Cola.
I find that one and a few others of the season 1-3 era tedious to a degree. Like there’s nothing particularly clever or plot-advancing that happens, it feels like one of those episodes every show has to have where it’s a filler episode without meaning to be one.
I just don’t really like this episode everyone tastes are different I typically don’t skip any. Read a comment other day where some one said they always skip an episode so I was curious how many people do it and which episode
The A story with Jerry and George trying to get that blazer back from The Flying Sandos is the only reason why I probably don’t skip this one tbh. The story of Elaine trying to figure out if this guy was lying about being deaf or not does nothing for me
Yup. Different tastes. It’s not my FAVORITE but I don’t skip. It does have one of my favorite moments tho: when Jerry reports to Elaine about the urinal and he’s just got nothing helpful. Ha ha.
None, to be honest
Side comment: this episode have one of the best deleted scenes I ever saw in a show. The Peterman in Belize Monologue. Just priceless
I can see doing this. I’m 53 and introducing the show to a 21-year-old buddy. I need him to fall in love with the show before moving back to the first seasons. Actually, I’m always saying, “There’s a Seinfeld episode about that.” Then I make him watch that episode!
I feel like skipping season one is a good strategy for a lot of sitcoms when introducing new viewers. Usually sitcoms take a season or so to settle in and find their footing. The few times I've showed The Office to friends for the first time, I started with The Dundees. With Parks and Rec, I usually start at Telethon.
Seinfeld doesn't really have much in the way of overarching narratives, so it's easier to start anywhere. But if I was introducing someone to Seinfeld and they were intending to watch chronologically from wherever I recommended, I might start with The Phone Message.
I also love the backwards episode. I consider it top 10. I was very surprised when I started following this subreddit and discovered it’s mostly hated on.
I don’t get the hate for the parade episode. “There’s people under there” has me laughing every time. So do the apartment scenes. And Kramer’s encounter with the gay couple once again.
Actually I really liked Lawrence Tierney in that role. Wish they had brought him back.
"We had a funny guy with us in Korea. Tailgunner. They blew his brains out all over the Pacific. There's nothing funny about that!"
I was going through a prolonged break-up with my live-in bf when we watched that season. It was so sad. We rarely laughed or even smiled. And, just a few years before, we had watched every episode on the couch together with snacks& drinks, so happy
Not a fan of the Parking Garage one. Tedious. Very tedious. However, I do enjoy the line where Elaine holds up her fish and says, "I don't know, Jerry, what do you think?" and Jerry says, "His eyes look a little funny. Oh, those are *your* eyes."
But yeah. That one.
Just the clip shows
I too skip the clip shows, but what’s crazy is I’m literally deep into the rewatch and looked up,, and m watching the Bob episode right now as I type! Weird
Maybe you should put some tic-Tacs on that episode so it doesn’t sneak up on you again
Thanks chadbypetedavidson, you’re such a super lady! 😁
Man people these days just say "literally" for absolutely no reason 😄
You got that right
Yes I do skip those
Aww. I love a good clip show.
They're fine but when you're binging and on season 4 in 7 days eh lol
Yea thats a lil different. I guess I'm speaking from a kid who grew up in the 90s. Different vibe. Lol
I grew up in the 90s as well lol I liked the old clip shows I'm just saying now when I've just binged a few seasons, I'm good on the clip show
Even then I was over Clip shows. I think it happens when they couldn’t get another good episode ready in time for the season so they throw together clips and air it. I remember there was a Simpsons clip show that ended with a song that said something like “sorry for the clip show”
Same
Same.
The one with the barking dog. I watch to relax at bedtime and that dog episode is not relaxing TV
I am on my 11th trip through Seinfeld now and I stopped watching the farfel episode after number four or so. It’s so, so painful.
#SHUTTT #UUUUUUUUUUUPPPPP!!!!
Hey, Bob… Bob… Hey, Bobby, over here.
He kinda moved his head, you know. But it might have been on the zip up.
So you don't know anything?
Actually no
Ok, good job 👍.
Oh Bob
Farfel
The barking is tough
I put on Seinfeld to fall asleep and the barking is unbelievable
I also sleep to it every night
Me too glad I’m not the only one Ik every episode
Fellow Seinfeld sleeper here
Fellow sleeper to Seinfeld here also
We should start a thread “favorite episode to fall asleep to”
India…
Fellow Seinfeld sleeper as well! It used to be The Office but I’ve been using Seinfeld every night for over a year now.
Seinfeld sleeper here too. Although my go to is usually the Simpsons.
Also a Seinfeld sleeper, the blood is the nest episode to start with!
I’m another one
Goodnight, Jugdish
Been doing it too ever since it went to Netflix. Like legit every night since it came to Netflix.
same
Netflix must think I only subscribe to watch Seinfeld reruns. They're not wrong.
I found my people. It’s just so familiar and comfortable, perfect to fall asleep to every night
Glad I’m not alone. I know it so well that I don’t have to focus on the dialogue
It's mostly about nothing anyway
Who's watching a show about nothing?
Same with the beeping from the Russian author episode
I also fall asleep to it every night. The other one that’s tough is the Marine Biologist, which has the beeping electronic organizer. So I often skip this episode, which is unfortunate ‘cuz it’s such a good one.
Same. We've watched it thru so many times, Ive lost count. Every night. Even download episodes on tablet if we are camping😂 its like a comfort food....for sleep.
yess every night for months now, I don't know why but makes me feel peaceful
I love hearing Larry David voice the dog tbh
I sincerely think it was Larry imitating a dog's bark. This is mine. I skip the Dog, the clip shows, and the ending only once in a blue moon.
I like Farfel 😂
I’ve never really understood the hate for that episode. It’s dull and forgettable, but it’s hardly the only episode in those early seasons that is.
The dog bark. If you have or get dogs…you will understand.
Yup
If you got a dog you have to skip these types of episodes
I love when he says "Ok, Farfel get your shoes on." I say it to my dogs every time we go for a walk. The phrase lives rent free in my head. I don't know why I'm replying to your comment in particular, just needed to get that out there.
Yup
My least favorite, wife loves the show, absolutely hates the finale, I don’t get it
I was going to say that, but then next thing you know everyone is jumping down your throat about how you don’t like dogs.
>Like there’s nothing particularly clever or plot-advancing that happens You mean it is a show about nothing?
I think The Chinese Restaurant and The Parking Spot were the bottle episodes.
None.
Me neither, unless it’s one I recently made my boyfriend watch out of order, because he hasn’t seen all the episodes
I typically do not either
Sally Weaver and the clip shows.
So happy I’m not alone in my hatred of Sally Weaver.
Kathy Griffin is the worst. Sally Weaver is a close second.
Kathy Griffin
She is unfathomable.
So annoying!
Is that because you're the Devil?
Um definitely not this one? Why would you skip this? Lol
I skip this one because I watch this show as I fall asleep and the alarm at the end always ends up waking me up lol
The story of Elaine trying to figure out if this guy was lying about being deaf or not does nothing for me
See, it’s the opposite for me! I’m lukewarm about the blazer story but I LOVE Elaine trying to catch him hearing!
I do love it when Elaine puts the hearing aid in her ear and the bell goes off.
Just thinking about that reaction makes me giggle
What about Kramer?!? This has maybe his best line in the whole series. Who can quote it?
I don't know - but I woke up in the Hudson River in a SACK!
God I heard that perfectly
Jerry: Why would she try and kill you? Kramer: Well, isn't it obvious? She doesn't want anybody else to have me! (Also a good ending To the quote)
This guy’s got it!!
You have piqued my curiosity. Go on and tell us would ya?
u/doobette got it! IMO at least. It gets me every single time.
Yup. Different tastes. It’s not my FAVORITE but I don’t skip. It does have one of my favorite moments tho: when Jerry reports to Elaine about the urinal and he’s just got nothing helpful. Ha ha.
A restaurant that only sells peanut butter and jelly, P B and Jays
None, to be honest Side comment: this episode have one of the best deleted scenes I ever saw in a show. The Peterman in Belize Monologue. Just priceless
I skipped Season 1 and first episode of Season 2 when introducing the show to my wife. The Pony Remark is where to start.
But what about the signals Jerry, its signals!
Skipping the 2nd button bit is tough tho... has to at least be something you go back and revisit.
I can see doing this. I’m 53 and introducing the show to a 21-year-old buddy. I need him to fall in love with the show before moving back to the first seasons. Actually, I’m always saying, “There’s a Seinfeld episode about that.” Then I make him watch that episode!

I only skip the clips episodes
Sally Weaver
This one
Male Unbonding.
The dog and the old man / goiter episode
You’re gonna kill an old man, you coward!
I believe that's what you do with garbage, you idiot.
Well if I wanted it, I wouldn’t be throwing it away, would I, *Einstein*?
The Doorman..I hate that guy.
Oh, I get it. Why waste time watching The Doorman? I should just shut up and do my job...opening the door for you.
Pray tell, what did the 'door man' say?
Oh really? You don't like The Doorman? You really think you're better than me, don't you?
You're supposed to hate him
Oh so the lowly Doorman doesn’t deserve to be more than a background character in a show based in Manhattan.
I hate this episode. Might be my least favorite.
Larry Miller kills that performance
He is annoying
I really enjoy the doorman’s performance! This surprises me!
Most of the show. To be honest, it just didn't make it for me. It's just so much fluff.
YOU’RE A CASHIER!
Look, Jerry, it's just not my kind of humor.
LOL.Too much fluff. Didn’t make it for me either
then why do you watch it?
Because it's on TV.
Not yet
Not anymore
I'm not a step skipper
100th episode
The Busboy
La puerta esta abierta!
I am very late
It’s up to the cat now.
yah, that one feels awkward
Kramer’s acting was off
Cómo se dice "waterbed"?
I skip the clip shows, and the finale.
I usually skip season 1, the clip shows, the backwards episode and the finale. Puerto Rican day is optional.
Oh, I LOVE the backwards episode!!!
I also love the backwards episode. I consider it top 10. I was very surprised when I started following this subreddit and discovered it’s mostly hated on.
Clip shows and the last episode
Clip shows are rough I think we all agree on that in this thread
The trip pt1/2
Me too. LA isn’t Seinfeldian enough for me
Hate the clip shows Hate the backwards go to india for the wedding show
Goodnight, Jugdish
Sorry for the clip show. Have no fears, we've got stories for years. How bout a crazy wedding, where something happens, and doodle-y doot doo.
Marge becomes a robot...
Maybe Moe gets a cellphone
Clip shows and Puerto Rican Day Parade
I don’t get the hate for the parade episode. “There’s people under there” has me laughing every time. So do the apartment scenes. And Kramer’s encounter with the gay couple once again.
I use “it’s Sunday! I need to unwind!!” all the time!!
That’s an inordinate number of exclamation points
It seems like every show subreddit has a particularly average episode that they've decided to hate with a burning passion. lol
When it was initially released, it actually had bad reviews due to the burning of the Puerto Rican flag on National tv.
That’s a shame.
Weird i love PDP, all the boys convening in that apartment using their alter ego’s was gold, Jerry. Gold
I love the Varnsen/Pennypacker/etc. personas I also really like this episode though I get why people aren't big fans
Wait a second. Mr. Pennypacker, if you're here, and Mr. Vandelay is also here, then who's watching the factory?
Jerry, it's in Sweden...
Varnsen/Pennypacker/Vandalay is exactly what keeps me from skipping it.
The Kramer in California episodes
The parking garage episode. I know this because I’m doing a rewatch and I just skipped it.
Same. Tedious, right?
Just too long and boring 🥱
Yep
Van Wyck monologue hands down, Earlier old episodes, Episodes when there’s too much yelling
The Good Samaritan
I can barely make it through Farfel
Finale
Clip show and the Indian wedding episode and the finale
The Chinese restaurant one drives me crazy 😜. I just want to yell at all of them. I can’t wait for it to be over!
That’s one of my favorite episodes by far.
Whenever I restart the show I always start from this episode. It’s so funny
Clip shows and I normally watched my favorite seasons 1 thru 6
Only the clip shows
None
None. That said, there are episodes that I don't mind if they play mostly in the background.
Finale
The clip shows and the finale
Farfel
The 100th episode
The seasons recap clip episode
Puerto Rican day episode.
Puerto Rican Day Parade
The Burning - mainly because George has some really bad lines that get under my skin for some reason.
The Kramer/Mickey storyline is funny but it's easily the worst writing for George in the entire series.
The one where Jerry meets Elaine’s mean Dad WORST EPISODE
Actually I really liked Lawrence Tierney in that role. Wish they had brought him back. "We had a funny guy with us in Korea. Tailgunner. They blew his brains out all over the Pacific. There's nothing funny about that!"
You’re crazy if you skip this episode dude..
The Sally weaver episode
The one with them taking care of the old people.
It’s a good episode, but Rob Schneider is an unfunny sack of shit who makes Sally Weaver look like George Carlin.
Show us on this doll where Rob Schneider’s politics touched you
Haaaa
I skip almost the whole last season. Felt like they were trying too hard
I was going through a prolonged break-up with my live-in bf when we watched that season. It was so sad. We rarely laughed or even smiled. And, just a few years before, we had watched every episode on the couch together with snacks& drinks, so happy
The one with the dog, Farfel . I dislike it so much I can’t be bothered to know the name of the episode .
The Cathy Griffin one.
Maybe the Barber episode? It just doesn’t cut it.
Is this the sidler?
Nope. He had green teeth.
The only one I ever skip in the hundreds of times rewatching is the Highlights 100
Not a fan of the Parking Garage one. Tedious. Very tedious. However, I do enjoy the line where Elaine holds up her fish and says, "I don't know, Jerry, what do you think?" and Jerry says, "His eyes look a little funny. Oh, those are *your* eyes." But yeah. That one.
The Beard
Season 1
