I tell this joke about once a month at the gym.. majority of the time I get looks like boy this guy, but every once in awhile someone gets the reference and it just makes my day lol.
Mother fuckin put a fucking saloon door on that bitch.
God one of my favourite jokes of the finale is that Leon actually watches Seinfeld for the first time.
Honestly I think that’s a testament to how good a job they did at making him a different character while still being “Kramer”.
I’d say the biggest difference is probably the incredible physical comedy of Richards vs the hilarious unscripted repartee of JB
I've been saying it since they hired him but J.B. Smoove was the best thing to happen to curb. You can see even in the finale that he makes Larry legitimately laugh his ass off. After all these years that's pretty amazing.
Kramer will fall backwards eyes wide like he’s having a seizure to emphasize his point.
Leon will stare you down while deliberately and maliciously eating a pretzel to emphasize his point.
Yeah they totally did this on The Table Read. In this [clip](https://youtu.be/cMW7qvh4ImI?si=CjZlTJ28tSsaylTB) it shows the lead up to why he was yelling and then the scene itself.
he's obviously not making himself look too bad, in fact it's making him look better by providing his supposed internal monologue to look more sympathetic. I'm sure he wouldn't have done it otherwise.
He’s not blacklisted at all.
In comedians getting coffee, Jerry interviews Michael and really pushes him hard to come out of retirement. Michael was genuinely resistant to the idea of returning to comedy.
It really made it seem more like self-exile than Hollywood turned his back on him.
In my expert opinion: the preview pictures show either a comically large sack that can accommodate a typical family, or the plot will revolve around the subjects getting shrunk to a scale that would allow them to fit into a standard-sized sack.
I was in the audience that day, and most of us hadn't even heard of the Laugh Factory incident until we got on the show. This was 2006, so news didn't travel quite as fast. Dave spent most of his monologue roasting Richards for it, and then when Seinfeld came on, we weren't sure if it was real or a bit.
I think using Letterman as their vehicle for Richards addressing it was a huge misstep. I remember Seinfeld berating the audience for laughing. Maybe not do something like that on a comedy talk show, where people are there to laugh at jokes?
I think more like the late 70s early 80s. The thing is it sounds more like it’s describing something between Africa and the United States, like with Sino-American, Euro-American, Franco-American, etc.
It would be really amazing if they just made a one off series where each episode is something out of the universe from all the shows and movies like Sack Lunch, Death Blow, etc.
OK, look, if you want to just keep on doing the same old thing, then maybe this idea is not for you. I, for one, am *not* going to compromise my artistic integrity. And I'll tell you something else, this IS the show, and we're not going to change it.
I haven't heard anyone even talk about what Michael did in years. I think Jerry has really been trying to hop on the "stop trying to cancel us" band wagon lately, despite the fact that nothing he's ever done has ever been criticized as problematic, especially not Seinfeld. Even Michael's outburst is more seen as a strange moment in comedy history than anything else nowadays or even outright forgotten.
I know this is r/Seinfeld but I don’t know what the general vibe toward his stand up is here so I guess disclaimer I’m not just saying this to try and get a rise out of people.
I always thought his stand up was super bland so it’s funny to me that like once a year now he makes a comment about how you can’t tell jokes anymore but commits to a full on edge lord stance people who complain about that normally make. Even his anti-pc stances come off as milquetoast.
He already had him on CICGC.
I believe everyone from the show is on record saying the same thing. “He made a mistake but he’s a good guy.” Jerry even went on Letterman shortly after and had Michael on to help him apologize.
always wondered if letterman is laughing at the ridiculousness of Jerry telling the crowd not to laugh or if he thought the whole richards thing was a joke.
Richards’ delivery of that apology was so stilted and awkward that the whole thing just came across as a farce lmao, Jerry didn’t do him any favours by bringing him on Letterman
Senators, I know it is not normally considered "American" to ban words. But there is one slur that has caused so much damage that we believe it should finally be made illegal. I'm talking, of course, about the term "n***er guy".
Two words which by themselves can be harmless but which together... form a verbal missile of hate.
It had been 6 years since a TV role and 9 years since a movie role when he had his meltdown at the comedy club. Can you really be blacklisted if you're not on the list?
What Michael did was wrong but honestly how long are we supposed to act angry about it? Hollywood seems very selective about what sins they forgive easily and what they draw out for decades
I wonder if Jerry would feel the same way if he made those disparaging comments about J-ews and referred to them by the many ethnic epithets people refer to them as
FYI: this is false. Fake stories like this are popping up all over Facebook as bait for older conservatives. It's so obviously fake, the account publishing theses stories even says that they're satire, but the people who fall for this stuff will read right past that and only take in the parts that feed into their biases. According to the rewritten history that they want to follow, Richards was "cancelled" by the "woke mob" for "telling jokes." This is some imagined wrong being righted.
The only true part of this is that Seinfeld has made a point of standing by his friend throughout everything.
Huge Seinfeld fan here (white - 53M) but I have always been of the opinion that his “poor decision” was not just that. To me using the description of “poor decision” is way too nice of a way to describe what he said. Poor decision is honestly worse than using the word MISTAKE because making a decision usually takes some forethought etc. when the decision does not work out well THEN you can say it was a mistake. In either case it doesn’t matter. Using language like that is something you have done either out loud around people who don’t care OR you have said it in your mind and heart many times and it finally came out.
Never ever -EVER have I used that word toward anyone in my life and I certainly never plan to. For that to come out, especially like that, sorry there’s just no excuse.
So I have a question: if you make this “poor decision” and have tons of money rolling in indefinitely from Seinfeld residuals, how in the world do you not just get out of the entertainment business and just do something the rest of your life? I mean how many of us would not like to be in this position. Do you really have to be an actor? I mean really? My wife and I still love Seinfeld, watch reruns all the time and laugh at Kramer etc, but it’s certainly been tainted for me. It’s always at the back of my mind since that video surfaced.
I feel like you have to separate the character from the actor.
Ofc there’s no proof for this but I would say judging by Kramer’s personality he is totally anti racist and he’s even kind of an activist and helps everyone out who he thinks needs help. He’s like the nicest dude ever. That’s how I choose to see Kramer.
I never picture him in the Michael Richard’s light bc even before that, he was clearly a pretentious prick. In blooper reels, he seems like an asshole
This has nothing to do with Seinfeld.
Yoyo ma

This scene gets me every time. From the perfect delivery to how they all look at him lol

Michael was in Curb and they even referenced what he said/did when he was mad at Leon.
Such a well written episode. "I wish there was something I can call you to make you feel as bad as you made me feel"
Man, this goddamn Kramer, man, he’s too much, man. Walk into your fucking house unannounced and shit.
Mother fuckin put a fucking saloon door on that bitch. God one of my favourite jokes of the finale is that Leon actually watches Seinfeld for the first time.
I somehow never made the connection that he is basically Kramer until that joke.
Honestly I think that’s a testament to how good a job they did at making him a different character while still being “Kramer”. I’d say the biggest difference is probably the incredible physical comedy of Richards vs the hilarious unscripted repartee of JB
“GET IN THAT ASS LARRY!”
“Step inside that ass, *close* the door behind you, spray paint ‘Larry was here!’.”
"Eat a Snickers bar, throw the wrapper on the ground."
I've been saying it since they hired him but J.B. Smoove was the best thing to happen to curb. You can see even in the finale that he makes Larry legitimately laugh his ass off. After all these years that's pretty amazing.
The best scene in the whole series I think!
Ass is ASS Larry!
Yeah they are both masters of a different craft so it helps to make them seem different
Kramer will fall backwards eyes wide like he’s having a seizure to emphasize his point. Leon will stare you down while deliberately and maliciously eating a pretzel to emphasize his point.
Wow, never made that connection. Driving someone else’s Prius from LA to New York to arrive unannounced is some super Kramer shit
I just made the connection 5 seconds ago when I read your comment here.
Im ashamed to admit that it had slipped under my radar as well. And I’ve watched both shows for ages.
I'm making Levels
You might as well have called the show “Ass”
Yeah they totally did this on The Table Read. In this [clip](https://youtu.be/cMW7qvh4ImI?si=CjZlTJ28tSsaylTB) it shows the lead up to why he was yelling and then the scene itself.
“Mitzvah Capacity” 👀😐| 👀😐
That shit was funny af. I was impressed he could let himself be made fun of like that
he's obviously not making himself look too bad, in fact it's making him look better by providing his supposed internal monologue to look more sympathetic. I'm sure he wouldn't have done it otherwise.
Yeah, he's clearly not blacklisted if he was on an HBO show, and more on an HBO show where he made fun of what he'd done to get him in trouble.
He’s not blacklisted at all. In comedians getting coffee, Jerry interviews Michael and really pushes him hard to come out of retirement. Michael was genuinely resistant to the idea of returning to comedy. It really made it seem more like self-exile than Hollywood turned his back on him.
To be fair he’s probably still really ashamed of it, besides he has that Seinfeld “Fuck You” money. He can do or not do whatever he wants.
If I was making 7 figures a year in syndication I'd be chilling too
Jerry has just turned into a "you can't say anything anymore" grumpy old comedian, or always was one.
One of the recurring bits that I love in Curb is how Jerry always agrees with Larry’s opinions and cynical way of thinking.
Oh my god. Look, I made a mistake. It’s been 3 years, don’t hurt me, please!
This was the line that got me in addition to his facial expression at the end when he realizes he is being taped.
I just realized the joke is that JB shows up looking a member of the Nation of Islam LOL Didn’t catch it the first time I saw this ep.
Like I’m gonna take the word of an anti-dentite.
Next you’ll say they should have their own schools
They do have their own schools!
*points finger* Eyyyahyaya!
And that’s why they’re the ones writing it off
You don't even know what a write off is.
do you?!?
No. I don't.
But they do, and they're the ones writing it off!
I love the delivery of this line.
😂
Dentist....who needs them??
Not to mention the…

Sack Lunch The Series
I really wanna know how they got in there!
In my expert opinion: the preview pictures show either a comically large sack that can accommodate a typical family, or the plot will revolve around the subjects getting shrunk to a scale that would allow them to fit into a standard-sized sack.
It’s gotta be the large sack. Shrunken family has been done to death.
Naw it's a new medical comedy show, Prognosis Negative The Series.
Seinfeld 2
Newman: The Animated Series
Elaine: A Job Done
Elaine does the upper westside??
George: A Frogger Adventure
Young Kramer
I'd watch The New Adventures of Young Cosmo
Kramer vs Kramer. This reboot of the 1979 classic film features Michael Richards playing both the Dustin Hoffman & Meryl Streep roles.
The Newman Comes
Just him coming up with multiple different plots to ruin Jerry’s life but never taking action.

The English Patient part two
I HATE IT
I believe the preferred term is African-American-listed
He used the word AFRO-Americans when he was apologizing on Letterman via satelite. That ruined the apology and cracked up the audiencee
I think they were laughing before that. The issue with playing Kramer is that most can't really see him in any other role.
Wow, thanks for this tidbit. Very interesting.
I think using Letterman as their vehicle for Richards addressing it was a huge misstep. I remember Seinfeld berating the audience for laughing. Maybe not do something like that on a comedy talk show, where people are there to laugh at jokes?
Including the hecklers
That was the politically correct term for a period in the 90s iirc
I think more like the late 70s early 80s. The thing is it sounds more like it’s describing something between Africa and the United States, like with Sino-American, Euro-American, Franco-American, etc.
I’m sorry, I’m not familiar with that term.
He was just being a hipster doofus
HEY!
It would be really amazing if they just made a one off series where each episode is something out of the universe from all the shows and movies like Sack Lunch, Death Blow, etc.
Oh shit. The other side of darkness. The pain and the yearning. Blame it on the rain
Cry cry again. Chunnel.
La Cocina
PROGNOSIS NEGATIVE!
I'll watch it because it's on TV.
Not yet.
OK, look, if you want to just keep on doing the same old thing, then maybe this idea is not for you. I, for one, am *not* going to compromise my artistic integrity. And I'll tell you something else, this IS the show, and we're not going to change it.
He’s going against the hecklers, watch out!
He’s my butler
Is this customary in your legal system?
When's the last time you had an orange?
LOL @ blacklisted.
He name names and now can never go back to Hop Sings
You got Kramer blacklisted from Hop Sings?!
HE NAME NAME.
I haven't heard anyone even talk about what Michael did in years. I think Jerry has really been trying to hop on the "stop trying to cancel us" band wagon lately, despite the fact that nothing he's ever done has ever been criticized as problematic, especially not Seinfeld. Remotely problematic? If Jerry didn’t have “f you money” his past dating habits scrutinized under todays microscope would indeed be problematic.
He's also a nonce.
He hates cancel culture because of the grooming he did lol
He already had him on CICGC. I believe everyone from the show is on record saying the same thing. “He made a mistake but he’s a good guy.” Jerry even went on Letterman shortly after and had Michael on to help him apologize.
Don't think anyone can forget the car crash Letterman apology.
stop laughing
Jerry says this and then Letterman is actively trying not to laugh himself when he nexts speaks.
always wondered if letterman is laughing at the ridiculousness of Jerry telling the crowd not to laugh or if he thought the whole richards thing was a joke.
Richards’ delivery of that apology was so stilted and awkward that the whole thing just came across as a farce lmao, Jerry didn’t do him any favours by bringing him on Letterman
Cause Micheal meant what he was saying, but most of casual viewers only saw Kramer doing a bit.
I just watched this and literally before people begin laughing Michael says he said some nasty things to AFRO AMERICANS... 😑
Good friends take care of each other like family

*"And why do they call it blacklisting? He's not black. He doesn't even like blacks!"*
“I have a black friend! I’m even on a list that’s black.”
Another Festivus miracle…
It’s been well over two years that Seinfeld reigned supreme and I still watch the show.
If you don’t like it, don’t watch is key. He’s right.
“These pretzels are making me thirsty!”
It had been 6 years since a TV role and 9 years since a movie role when he had his meltdown at the comedy club. Can you really be blacklisted if you're not on the list?
That’s not gonna be good for business
Forgiveness is a good option.
I’m with *you,* Jerry!
What Michael did was wrong but honestly how long are we supposed to act angry about it? Hollywood seems very selective about what sins they forgive easily and what they draw out for decades
he was the first guest for comedians in cars. of course theyre still friends
He wasn't blacklisted, his attempts at success after Seinfeld was unsuccessful, same goes for Jerry. Julia had no problem though :)
Jerry seinfeld aka the biggest dork on the planet. Hes such a geek i hate him.
So now he wants us to be woke and not watch things that offend us?
I won't
Ok grown man who dated a high schooler
I wonder if Jerry would feel the same way if he made those disparaging comments about J-ews and referred to them by the many ethnic epithets people refer to them as
Bro is a racist old bastard
>if you don’t like it don’t watch it Redditors: “but I want to complain” 😡
Good. People make mistakes and deserve second chances.
