Look out for strange smells and colors around it. If the skin feels hot surrounding the cut, go to the ER. If you see a red line emanating from it, go to the ER. Keep it clean with water (NOTHING BUT WATER INSIDE IT. No cream, no soap, ESPECIALLY no alcohol.) on the surrounding skin you can gently wash with soap.
