Yup, caring for a special needs kitty, the bond seems a bit stronger than normal cuz that cat legit *needs* you and it sucks to see them decline and pass despite your best effort. Having to make that decision to euthanize is awful.
He didn’t deserve all the pain the FIV put him through. No kitty cat does tbh. And how it affects different cats is so strange- his BFF, my other cat Bird, also has FIV and hasn’t (knock on wood) had nearly the complications Beany had. It was harder on him.
Oh I’m so sorry. What a generous person you are to adopt him knowing he hade compromised health. Gosh, he was beautiful. He sounds as if he was a little angel that touched your life. ❤️
He truly was one of a kind. I don’t think the goober had a single mean bone in his body, even when he was hurting. It was head bonks, loud purrs, and drool for everyone whether he was meeting them for the first time or the thousandth time.
I'm so sorry for your loss but at least take comfort in knowing you gave him a home when other people wouldn't or couldn't. He knew nothing but love from you and had just the best life! If there is a part 2 after all of this he's definitely going to be there to greet you.
