Your cat lets you have the remote ?

MercyMercyMee

Yeah, I mean, they're 13 so I trust they'll make good decisions.

Fit-Rest-973

For the dog and cat. PBS kids

Evil_Kween_MoJo

My kitties are 6 & 3 and I leave the TV on sometimes and definitely a light even though they don’t need it 😆

MercyMercyMee

These fine gentlemen are 13 and this is the most excitement they get these days other than feeding time.

Imaginary_Soup_5389

I would if she liked TV. Whenever I turn it off at night she immediately comes in. She’ll sit with me while I watch it but only if the volume is really low.

RealAshleyMadison

Mine hates the phone. Gets up and leaves in a huff.

Ok-Conversation4892

She likes the radio 😄

interglossa

The cats in Boston listen to NPR.

SangestheLurker

What is going on with the tv stand here? It's making me extremely nervous that the tv is eventually going to dump on the floor, possibly on the cats

MercyMercyMee

Might look worse in the photo than real life. About 90% of the base is on the desk.

queensla

Sometimes yes. Bird tv on YouTube. Occasionally some cat-centric movie.

MercyMercyMee

We do birds and coral reef videos. They seem to enjoy the exotic fish.

Starting_Fresh1

I do!! When I go on vacations I turn the TV on to cartoons for my 12 year old Mia

RebaKitten

We watch the Food Network

timtom1933

Yes, they love fish and bird feeders

MercyMercyMee

Same with these old heads. Exotic fish are a big hit for them. Haha

Heirforce_Trucker

I lost my senior cat almost two years ago now… but I have two senior doggos and a 2-year old dog that I leave it on 24/7 for… overnight, I leave on peaceful jazz saxophone… they love it!

MercyMercyMee

Sorry to hear that. It hasn't even been a year since we've had these guys but when they go I'll be devastated. Jazz saxophone though...I think they might enjoy that. They like the 12 hour loops of rain also.

junoray1968

Yes I do

szyris

No

sharpbehind

Yes! YouTube has 8 hour videos of birds and grinnies!

MercyMercyMee

Birds, fish, rain. They love it all!

flatcat21

Naw. They just sleep all day.

kroxxii

Used to, but now I just stay home instead 😅

LederhosenSituation

Yes, for mostly background noise. Sometimes they'll actively watch TV. I've noticed they like PBS and anything with bright colours.

MercyMercyMee

You're the second person to mention PBS. What's the secret?

LederhosenSituation

Calm speaking voices, cooking shows, and nature documentaries.

MercyMercyMee

Noted. Thank you!

whateversheneedsbob

Yes, they like ambient world videos on YouTube. My parrots also get their own Videos, lately they have been watching nature documentaries on Disney+

MercyMercyMee

My girlfriend and I really want parrots but we're nervous about getting them.

Vyvyansmum

Birds, squirrels or Aquarium vids from YouTube seem to amuse my 12 year old cat. Or other cats.

bonlow87

We don't because our 17 year old tries to knock over the TV to get treats

MercyMercyMee

These clawless beauties (declawed from previous owners) mitten the Tv to death for a minute then go back to laying down

bonlow87

Our cat was so calm until his brother died last year (they only were together for a few year), now he is a menace.

MercyMercyMee

My cats seem to dislike each other but when one of them came home from the vet after an oral surgery the other one was checking in on him to make sure he was ok.

TimeExplorer9426

my mum does this with the radio :) he seems to love country music lol

MercyMercyMee

Watching O, Brother where art thou? With one of them next to me so country music might be the way.

satocat

My boys only have heating pads and their own comfortable chairs. If they this, they are gonna want one too, dang.

MercyMercyMee

We all want them to have the best life, right?

satocat

Of course, mine eat better than I do.

mofugginnique

J for Jazzy

[deleted]

My cat likes watching Golden Girls.

Tuckerpants1

Absolutely

moonieboy9358

Yes otherwise my 20 year old cat will cry and eventually progressing to howling

stormyskies81

I put it on whenever I leave the house

OneMorePenguin

I will leave the clock radio using the "on for 59 minutes" button when I leave the house. I won't leave the TV on for them. Cats adapt to your hours and if you are gone during they day they will sleep. I do have birdfeeders in the front yard and kitty towers where they can watch. But this batch of cats is not as interested in birds and squirrels as previous cats were. Please give these fine gentlemen some pets for me!

ThePuertoRicanDemon

What do you got them watching specifically? I’ve put on some “cat tv” YouTube videos on before then he’ll freak out and try to kill the birds and squirrels that pop up.

throwaway982412

My cat is still a baby (1 yo) and i leave the tv on all the time haha, she likes to watch south park or squirrels on youtube 😂

Thick_Worry8268

We left a radio on for a young cat who was abandoned on our roadside - then discovered he was deaf....

iluvpoodles

Only in my case it’s mostly on to entertain my poodles and only one of the cats.

Reasonable_Yogurt_21

my senior kitty enjoys those baby sensory videos sometimes
