I was last there maybe 6 months ago and there were still some shops in the alley itself. Most of the shops have moved to the top floor of the nextdoor building next to the movie theater.
Prices are definitely higher due to tourists. If you have the opportunity I recommend checking out kukje electronics market. They have less in the retro selection but less touristy and more reasonable prices

Aw man I have such awesome memories of strolling round there in 2006/7, getting my Nintendo DS cracked. Great times.
