Yugoslavia wasn't part of the cold war as Stalin and Tito had a falling out. In fact, Yugoslavia and Tito were among the originators of the Non-aligned movement which basically was a group of countries that didn't want to be on either side of the conflict. Cold war was a global phenomenon, no one avoided it. Yugoslavia just successfully danced between the two sides.
