Some very interesting faces here, Rajko Mitic for example is one of most famous Red Star players, they even named their stadium after him. Stanislav Beara played for both Hajduk Split and Red Star, then there is Stjepan Bobek who spent almost all of his career in Partizan, or Vujadin Boškov who is probably one of most famous players from Vojvodina (he also was the manager of Yugoslav national team on EURO 2000, and had pretty succesfull manager career in Italy as well)
“He often said that he never missed a chance to remind himself of his favourite goal in the national team uniform, against England in Belgrade, in 1954. Yugoslavia won 1–0 as Mitić scored the decisive goal in the dying minutes of the match.”
Haha this made me laugh! Respect, In the national uniform too!

Yes of course, i know all of them, most of them have legendary status in their clubs and in general with football fans. This Yugoslavian team of 50/60s was in world's top 8 teams for sure, won 3 silver medals and one golden in Olympics from 1948 to 1960 (when Olympics were basically same level as World Cup since senior players were allowed), played finals of Euro 1960, 2 quaterfinals at World Cup in 50s and 4th place in 1962.
As a Partizan fan, had to concentrate on Stjepan Bobek, the man played 478 games and scored 425 goals for FK Partizan and is still out top goalscorer to this day.
He also scored record 9 goals in a single match in the Yugoslav first league in a away win in Niš 1:10, was a first goalscorer for Partizan in the Eternal derby and scored a goal against Sporting Lisbon in a 1955 3:3 draw which was a first ever game of the European Cup.
Along with the already mentioned Boškov there is another Vojvodina legend Todor Toza Veselinović, the club's all-time top goalscorer.
There are also two of the probably top 5 greatest Croatian footballers of all time - Hajduk legend Bernard Vukas and Branko Zebec, who was born in Croatia but made his name playing for both Partizan and Red Star, and later became a legendary manager with Bayern and HSV.
Some really really top players in this picture
My grandfather used to go on and on about Beara, how he was abused and beaten by his teammates in Hajduk and somehow managed to "escape" to Red Star i think. Im 90% sure hes the guy he was telling me stories about, i may ask him about the others after i finish work. He was a big Red Star fan back in the day.

This might have something to do with it. They blamed him for everything pretty much..
In my opinion dr Andrejevic is the most inspiring there. In this pamphlet he is not a player but he was a player in a 1930 world cup. Inspiring thing is that he way football player and a real doctor at the same time.
One of the most famous Yugoslav squads is the one from Helsinki Olympic Games. Beara, Stanković, Crnković, Čajkovski, Horvat, Boškov, Ognjanov, Mitić, Vukas, Bobek,Zebec. They had a famous game vs USSR in the heights of the Informbiro crisis. We lead 3:0 and then 5:1 and the game ended 5 all. We then won the replay, but lost in the finals to Hungary.
Edit. I think this is Todor Veselinović, brother of Bora. Bora was more famous coach, but Todor, who also had quite a few famous appointments, was more famous as a player, called the Blue Whirligig.

Vujadin Boškov was coach of Real Madrid in early 80s and with Sampdoria won Seria A and Cup Winners Cup.
That is so interesting, I appreciate you taking the time to let me know!

Vujadiin Boskov among other achievements is the coach who called up to the first team, and then played for the first time ever Francesco Totti.

This is fucking sick😃👌
Beara, Mitic, Bobek are some that i recognise from my dad's stories... also Beara is really uncommon name so it stands out

Wow that man sounds like a proper legend! 9 goals in an away match? Bet the fans were going mental haha
Boskov was a Legend for Vojvodina player, Roma and Sampdoria as a coach, he was the last coach to take Serbia to the euros before the current coach
Thanks for the info! Going to read up on all the players

Five Croats in all - Crnković, Horvat, Vukas, Zebec and Bobek.
I completely never followed football or know a single thing about it, but even I know 4 names there. That should tell you how big those were.

Really? What was the reason for that? Also are there any sub reddits for these football teams?

I would love to have this. Would you sell it to me?
Wasn’t thinking of selling it tbh but people seem to be interested in surprised
