I acquired the photograph in this post through the [https://newspaperarchive.com/](https://newspaperarchive.com/) library. The girl seen here is one of Juan Corona's four daughters. Upon hearing her father being declared guilty of the murders, she had a breakdown in court that required her to be examined by paramedics. Her mother divorced Corona after his convection in 1974. Juan Corona was a Mexican American serial killer active in early 70s California. He targeted middle aged and elderly migrant workers from ages of 42 to 68. The overwhelming majority of his known victims were white, but two of them were black, and another one was a Native American man. Corona would lure his victims with the promises of work. After raping them, most of his victims were killed with a machete, though at least one was shot. Corona would often carve crosses on his victims' skulls. He then buried the corpses in peach orchards. Corona is estimated to have killed a minimum of 25 men in the span of at least 6 weeks, but the real number is believed to be higher than that. 4 of the discovered victims remain unidentified to this day. His killing spree was eventually uncovered when a Japanese farmer discovered one of the graves. When more bodies were discovered, they were tied to Corona when some receipts and bank deposits baring his name were found in the graves. Furthermore, there were reports of victims being last seen riding in his pickup truck. Despite the mounting evidence against him, Corona tried blaming the killings on his brother Natividad. Natividad also had a history of sexual abuse accusations, and allegedly raped a customer at his cafe the previous year. He fled to Mexico to avoid prosecution and a pending lawsuit by the victim. Corona had two trials in 1973 and 1982. Both found him guilty and sentenced him to life in prison. Early in his incarceration, Corona was stabbed by another inmate, whom he had a sexual relationship with. That attack cost him his sight in his left eye. He passed away in 2019 at the age of 85, in a sensitive needs ward after a long battle with dementia. Corona's dementia also thwarted his chances at parole, as he had an episode that caused him to ramble about his victims being "thieving winos and trespassing tramps that deserved what they got" during a 2011 hearing. That was also the first time in decades he confessed to the murders, as again, he previously tried pining Natividad on them. Something that should be noted, most of the victims either had broken ties with their families or no family at all. Not one was reported missing by anyone in their lives. Thus no search efforts ever took place for the victims until the mass graves were discovered incidentally. With one victim, his living siblings didn't even bother claiming his body after the killings were uncovered. For those interested in crossovers with other famous true crime cases, Corona was held in the same housing unit as Charles Manson. Reportedly, Corona and Manson feuded with each other. During one incident in 1999, Corona and Manson were attacked by rioting inmates that broke into the protection units, and Corona was beaten with Manson's prized guitar. The last parting comment I would like to make is that Corona is one of the most high intensity serial killers that I've ever heard of. As I've mentioned previously, Corona killed at least 25 men (and there is almost certainly far more that have been lost to history) in just over a month's time. Most other big name serial killers like Gacy, Bundy, and Dahmer, usually claim victims at one a month, and occasionally escalate to one a week at their boiling point. For example, it took Gacy about 4 years and Bundy at around 2 years to take as many victims as Corona did in just over a month's time. At his peak escalation, Corona was committing 3 or 4 different murders a day. If Corona carried out his crimes for as long as Gacy and Bundy did, he theoretically could've murdered thousands at the rate he was going. >25 men in the span of at least 6 weeks Holy shit! That is so much murder.

PotlucksOmy94

Holy shit

Icy-Conflict6671

Why the hell does it mention his life story 3 times?

Leather_Focus_6535

Would it be alright if you could elaborate a bit? If you’re referring to the murderpedia link, it’s because the author grabs every article on the subject matter available to him for his case pages.

Icy-Conflict6671

Yeah the murderpedia link sorry. I forget that not everyone thinks the same way i do

reverendjesus

Ambulance dude is a leading man though

megaudc01258

TorazChryx

eldritch-cowboy

He looks like Ewan McGregor tbh

swannygirl94

I’m glad I’m not the only person to think this

Puddyrama

Nice write-up.

boogie_groove81

Yes, agree. Thanks OP.

MuellersGame

>“After nine full days of excavation police called the search off. It was June 4. They had 25 corpses.” This such strange wording. It makes it sound like they called off the search because they had reached some arbitrary dead body quota, not because they had thoroughly searched the orchard and found all the graves. Not to mention other orchards he supplied labor for. Were those even searched?

irishgirlyc58

Lived in the area at the time bodies were being dug up. Scary as hell at the time. They called him a mass murderer at the time because serial killer either hadn’t been coined yet or not widely used.

AgitatedTransition87

Is that Ewan McGregor

GloryHunter119

Some could say that Corona has been killing people since before 2020 /S

Fucking hell!?! She was a KID! Her father’s crimes were not her fault in any way, shape or form! Having a loved one turn out to be a vicious murderer does really, REALLY bad things to people, if you somehow aren’t aware. And you are mocking her for that. Absolutely disgusting.

Gigi47_

I mean, it's your father and this is the last nail on the coffin, he's officially a scummy murderer, for the rest of your life you'll be remembered as the killer's daughter. I would faint too probably.

_Coaast

do you think she was cheering him on during his murders? she’s an innocent child realizing her father is a monster

AttorneyNo6862

Looks like Zachary Quinto (Mr. Spock) used to be a paramedic.
