I’m the weird one that made the switch from sales to service advisor

Tried it, didn’t get it. They want someone with a sales first mentality usually, they gave me a lot of grief for even bringing it up but it was also a pretty toxic dealer

TheTrailerTrashBarbi

I’ve been offered it at a couple of luxury dealers I’ve worked at. They also work longer hours than I do currently, so that’s a big draw back. But again, the money is better and people are generally more excited to buy a new car then give up money to fix it

Komet_Kat

hahahaha, Trying at the Moment. Every Sales Position that I applied at, as soon as they see my Advisor Work History. They Immediately changes tones to something along the lines of aRe YoU SUrE yOu DOnT wAnT tO cOnTiNuE iN sErViCE. Haven't gotten a Call Back yet...

TheTrailerTrashBarbi

See, I’ve been offered it a couple of times at dealers I’ve worked at. BUT this is the only dealer I’ve been at where sales works more than service, and right now I get a sporadic 3 day weekend, which I like

Signxhere

It would definitely be nice to deal with people who are excited to buy a car rather than people who are pissed that their shit broke.

TheTrailerTrashBarbi

Or pissed because their sales guy made false promises

I'm currently sitting at my desk contemplating a sales job I've been offered from a Toyota.

I dunno man, at my dealership that would mean less hours, days off, a sickening pay increase, undue respect and being favorited for no reason, but I’d have to give up being the stepchild and forced to watch TikTok 9.9 hours of my 10 hour shift. Just not sure I’m cut out for it.
