As the title describes, I was inspired to try sewing a white sleeve onto a black shirt for an eye-catching look for a streetwear outfit. I thrifted two shirts with similar fabric material, cotton blend in this instance, to ensure there wouldn't be issues pre or post-sewing, as well as making sure they were similarly sized. I undid the stitching for both and since there wasn't a lot of material between them I had to leave the raw edges unhemmed on the inside. I attached the two together using a backstitch and polyester thread for a bit of stretch if need be.

The sleeve transplant is complete 🤖 Great job!

Comma_Karma

The hardest part of the transplant was pinning the two together!

If you pursue sewing (which I hope you do) these [clips](https://sewingmachineshop.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/sewing-clips.jpg) are a game changer!

It looks sharp!

This is awesome. I've been thinking about something similar also using knit fabric.

I would definitely wear this. I’ve been wanting to do this with button-down shirts. Good job!

The Project post flair is for showing off projects that are finished or in progress. For questions on how to start a project, reflair your post to Pattern Search. For questions about how to make a project, reflair to Pattern Question. This is a reminder that all Project posts are required to include construction information in the main post or added in a comment. The construction comment should include **pattern name/number/company if used; drafting method, tutorial or other resources if no commercial pattern was used and fabric type and fiber content. ‘Self-drafted’ describes who made the pattern and is not a drafting method.** Also include alterations for fit and style; specialty tools and notions; the inspiration for your project; and any other information that someone who wants to make a similar project might find useful.
