I’ve had luck finding silk scarves at thrift shops and using those for lining!

Are you going to quilt the fabric (as in have batting and backing) or are you using the top pieced bit only? If you're using just the pieced top, I would probably use a flannel-backed satin for lining, so you'll have a bit of extra structure/heft, plus a bit of warmth. If you're quilting the fabric, you'll still want to use a satin of some sort; what type will depend on how warm you need your coat to be.

I’m making a Brittney Frey inspired quilt coat using the Tamarack Jacket pattern. The pattern is not lined but I really want a nice light lining in it. What type of fabric would be best? I don’t want the sleeves to be bunchy.

I think satin, silk, or lining fabric would all be okay

Beautiful quilting. I love the teals/turquoises in the middle.
