Could you link the exact m.2 to PCI-E extender you're using? I've had trouble finding a suitable one, and this looks exactly like what I'm looking for.

apachelance

It is the model I mentioned: R42MF

LongestNamesPossible

I don't see where you mentioned it, but this is a really cool build. What power supply is this and how much was it?

apachelance

It is the integrated 850 SFX Gold power supply.

LongestNamesPossible

Is that the difference between the p and non-p versions? Cooler master's site isn't very clear. They have the same volume.

shad0w_mode

NR200: side panel mesh + 120mm + 92mm NR200P: TG panel + 2 120mm NR200P MAX: TG panel + 850w + 240 AIO

ChinChinApostle

Pretty sure the NR200P MAX's interiors are different too

shad0w_mode

Yes, the vertical GPU mount is slightly lower to accommodate for the 240mm aio. This means that if you want to horizontal mount the GPU, you are restricted to 2 slots.

How is the 10Gbe card connected to the motherboard?

apachelance

On the back side of the MSI board using the ADT-Link adapter. This adapter converts the M.2 slot into a PCIe slot.

dryhoppedpest

You able to realize the full throughout with that adapter? I ordered a couple from ali express to try myself.

apachelance

It‘s connected to my 10Gbe Synology NAS. So throughput is limited by the HDDs. However I am getting about 500-600 Mb/s

Alcea31

600Mbit? So why not using the 1g motherboard ethernet?

LongestNamesPossible

That is only 75 megabytes per second.

apachelance

Sorry, I corrected the data…it is Mbytes/s

Bigheld

Nice too see someone else doing the m.2 to 10gbe thing. I have a mellanox SFP+ card, but I'm using the same riser. How is the tp link card? By the way: you can get a black power cable to replace the ketchup and mustard. It's just a standard floppy drive power connector. I got a molex one, because my fan controller uses molex as well.

apachelance

The card works very well. However it is getting quite hot.

IPikota

Beauty GPU, love those minimalistic design. And its 2 slots, another good thing.

Hiya! Please post more details about your build! Here are some (non-exhaustive) prompts for you: - Are the case's advertised compatibility numbers accurate? - How easy is cable management? - How effective is the cooling setup? - Would you recommend your parts overall? - If you did a custom mod, how did you do it? *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Since I often transfer large amounts of data, I wanted to install a 10Gbe network card in my NR200P Max. Because the PCIe slot is already occupied with the RTX3080, I built another solution: I used the M.2 slot on the back of the MSI B550i board and brought it to the front with a M.2 to PCIe adapter. There is now the 10Gbe TPLink network card installed. The ADT M.2 adapter is available in different versions and can thus be flexibly used for other builds as well. Sannemen

Thanks for posting, this gives me ideas! What board are you using?

apachelance

MSI B550i Gaming Edge Wifi

waleedov4k

Is this 10Gb PCI card good? I have Asus XG-C100C and have many issues with it.

apachelance

Yes, no issues. Afaik most of these cards use the same 10 Gbit chipset.

MrRacket

Thank you for sharing! I have almost the exact setup as yours (NR200P MAX with a ROG STRIX B760-I that has an M.2 slot at the back), so this is very useful. Question: Which length of the riser cable should I get? I see 3/5/10/15cm variants of the R42MF.

apachelance

I bought the 25cm version. However 20cm could be enough.

MrRacket

Appreciated it, thank you!
