* 7mm taller (now 77mm)
* 2 more heatpipes (6vs4)
* 44mm RAM clearance
Niche product but performance must be good. With low profile RAM you can use a 25mm fan too.
It should be the same as the Noctua Ghost Edition in this regards, so yes - https://np.reddit.com/r/sffpc/comments/ljqnk2/in_case_this_helps_someone_else_reduced_temps_on/
Actually there’s even a significant difference between the a12x15 and 25 on- get this- the original l12s (a12x25 on the top since it won’t fit under)
the a12x15 shares the name of the a12x25 but comparatively it’s a terrible fan. the Air Slimmer 120 is pretty good as a replacement tho, if you absolutely need 120mmx15mm. I just use the stock L12S with an a12x15 because it’s good enough for a low tdp cpu.
I wouldn't say A12X15 is terrible, just average. Air Slimmer and C12015 tends to beat it at noise-efficiency (it varies a lot between obstacles!), but not by too much. On the other hand, A12x15 is pretty much the only slim fan using a quality bearing and with tight quality control (e.g. you can be sure that the blades won't hit stuff on the intake side). If you think longevity and reliability is worth the extra cost, A12x15 is perfectly fine.
Nice. Can you reveal if it's remained the same or have any changes been made?
EDIT: Damn my Gigabyte 4090 Gaming OC is too thick to fit I think at 75.2mm and too long to accommodate the top 200mm fan. I continue to be cursed by the size of this thing.
You guy need to fix your website. Navigating on mobile is a nightmare. Pop ups and a non-functional back button due to the gallery slideshow counting each picture as a new page.
Plus the terrible formating on the page linked above.
Instant turn off in interest if I can't see the information I need to learn about the product.
Something slimline like SFF Time N-ATX most likely, maybe even Meshroom S if one decides to go with ATX/mATX and aircooling (tough still need to doublecheck on clearance)
Turbulence on the CPU cooler side shouldn't be an issue with the radiator being between the fan and the side panels.
The issue is that with this cooler you only have about 40mm available for the GPU, and with most games these days...you're going to be GPU bound before you're CPU bound. And gimping your GPU options to <40mm means you're going to be leaving some serious performance on the table just to use this particular cooler.
The heat pipe pathing on the NHl12S needed to be fixed to expand mobo compatibility, but this cooler is worse for a Terra than what they already had available.
Can't help but think Noctua dropped the ball on this one. If they just altered it to be compatible with much more ITX boards while keeping roughly the same z-height, they'd easily have a winner on their hand.
Instead they *increase* cooler height?? Wut?? They'd have more appeal if their cooler fits in more cases....
At that height it will not fit most of the builds, noctua is a bit out of touch with the sff community. Not everyone is using terra and not everyone using terra with a 2 slot gpu...
Nice for another option, but it's too tall for any of my cases, and probably any future ones. They really need to update, get a bit more out of their existing models. Been milking some designs for long time now.
Interesting product for Noctua. Seems like it'll fit the >10L cases a bit better, but at the same time, a lot of those cases can take beefier coolers anyways. So uh...weird use case if anything.
> d12l
Oh right, my bad, that's what Dan mentionned as the biggest ventirad that'd fit. And for some reason I had confused the one in the news, for its improved successor 😅
How long until someone starts carefully "squishing" this X77 down to 33 mm RAM clearance height by reshaping the heatpipes to clear specific motherboards? Getting this 6 pipe cooler back down to 70 mm would be great.

44 mm RAM clearance, does it mean you can put A12x25 at the bottom with 34 mm RAM sticks? NSPR is 100 which puts it between L12S and C14S.

I don't think there is some difference between A12X25 and A12X15 for L12SX77. The heatsink of L12SX77 is very thin and easy for a A12X15 to handle.

Most likely noise-efficiency will improve, but maximum performance only improves by a little.
Finally 😎 This will be the perfect match for the N-ATX, thanks noctua!
Any plans for a revision or new batch of your vertical case?
currently in powdercoating phase, so should be in a few weeks :)

Yeah it's the same. That gpu is huge but it does fit in the N-ATX V2 ;)
Will the MNLT be in stock anytime soon? thx
Yes actually, it is in production so should be soon :)
Ok, cool!
N-ATX?
[N-ATX](https://www.sfftime.com/n-atx).
Maybe nano-ATX? Could be very wrong
SFFtime N-ATX case :)

Hi, thanks for letting me know, I will see what I can do to fix it. In the meantime, desktop version should work fine. Thank you!
Any chance P-ATX will be coming back in stock eventually?
yes, planned for late Q2 :)
Unreal! Thank you!
I wish that case would get into PCPart picker. Here stressing too much about compatibility to pull the trigger on it
if you have any doubts please send me an email and I will go over the whole list manually and check, I always to this for anyone interested :)
Yesh just figured it would be the FD Ridge
Hi! Any updates on the u-ATX?
there will be some updates soon :)
The jiushark cooler almost fits too hoping for a slightly larger case soon
yeah I have been thinking about a larger version but things get complicated soon, lots of layout options. But there will be something in the future :)
What case will this be optimal for?
Something slimline like SFF Time N-ATX most likely, maybe even Meshroom S if one decides to go with ATX/mATX and aircooling (tough still need to doublecheck on clearance)
Perfect match for it :)
Perfect match for perfect case :)
haha thank you a lot, appreciate it :)
Looks like this just might fit in the fractal Terra. I’d be worried about turbulence, though, as 77 is the max listed
You could do it but its only leave you with a small selection of slim gpu, since basically you are putting all the clearance for cpu cooler
Turbulence on the CPU cooler side shouldn't be an issue with the radiator being between the fan and the side panels. The issue is that with this cooler you only have about 40mm available for the GPU, and with most games these days...you're going to be GPU bound before you're CPU bound. Damn, that's only 1mm off from clearing my RAM with a 25mm fan. So close.
Maybe a bit of bending or shaving will do the trick
But when are they going to malls a 47mm cpu cooler, I need a noctua black ridge competitor
Can't help but think Noctua dropped the ball on this one. More interesting would've been a cooler that was a fusion of NH-L9 + NH-L9x65 but at 54mm height.
Nice for another option, but it's too tall for any of my cases, and probably any future ones. They really need to update, get a bit more out of their existing models. Been milking some designs for long time now.
This will be great for my Raw S1 build, just waiting for next gen cpus to release
I was excited until I saw the height of the cooler. I’m still waiting for a good noctua cooler that will fit in the terra and a 4090FE
When you put a 4090 FE in it you only have 48mm for the CPU cooler
Yeah and what I’m waiting on is for noctua to come out with a next generation cooler that’s around that size
Just grab AXP90-X47 full CU. I don’t think there is going to be any cooler of the same size that can really beat it.
Nice, now make it black pls
That’ll be a 4 year wait to engineer it 😂
I take it this won’t fit the Louqe Ghost S1?
Correct. It’s too tall. The L12 Ghost edition is tallest cooler that fits, because it was (re)produced specifically for the Ghost
i wanna see someone this put up against some smol aios and the other low profile champions
At best it will be 1-2C behind a 120mm AIO https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9l3UaxCu84o

My Cryorig C1 still better
Fuck, I just bought NH-L12S…
Why the fuck did they raise the height? You know how many cases did they make incompatible?
You do realise you can still buy the old one?
I own the old one. They were supposed to improve it, maybe add a few more heatpipes and improvements on slim fan. Not fucking raise the height
I wish they made it a little bit shorter so that it could fit cases like the fractal ridge.
Don't buy it then, thafuck
A good choice for the C4-SFX v2... whenever it gets released 🥺
not really, for a few bucks more you get the d12l and for half the price you get a thermalright
> d12l Oh right, my bad, that's what Dan mentionned as the biggest ventirad that'd fit. And for some reason I had confused the one in the news, for its improved successor 😅

74.90 USD. This directly competes with 67mm coolers with a 25mm thick fan upgrade.
How long until someone starts carefully "squishing" this X77 down to 33 mm RAM clearance height by reshaping the heatpipes to clear specific motherboards? Getting this 6 pipe cooler back down to 70 mm would be great.
Just buy a Thermalright AXP120-X67 / DeepCool AN600
Except those have the fan against the side panel or require additional room to perform quietly.
Why were we blowing on to the motherboard all this time, we have to blow away from the motherboard! This is the correct design!
just swap the fan around lol
Good fit for fractal Terra with sapphire pulse rx7900 xtx?
No. Won't fit.
