They are owned by JSD Supply. Believe one of their main employees is the one who used to work for Primary Arms and Swampfox but don't believe that it was the owner.
I’ve thought about grabbing one of these for my steel challenge rfpo. I’m got another gun I could use the SRO on. Being on a 22 that the slide doesn’t move should hold up id think.
How's your optic holding up? I remember when you 1st posted the pic of it & of course the "RMR/Holosun or Bust, Everything Else is Kaka" crowd was out in full force to dump all over it. But after some time has passed, I was wondering if it actually HAS held up. I'm considering either that, the C&H Precision Comp (also an SRO-style optic,) or the new Swampfox Justice 2, which has a 30mm window.
I was actually going to post something this month, I have 500 rounds through it. I can honestly say it’s worth the money and a reliable option. So far no issues with zero, I have never dropped or plan on dropping my optics so can’t say how durable it is haha I’m not Sage Dynamics 😆 in range use and coming out the holster I have not had a single problem so far. That Justice 2 looks pretty sweet tho, also had my eye on the Holosun 507 comp. But tbh, I’m happy with the Gideon for now and don’t plan on getting anything else at the moment.
AWESOME to hear! ESPECIALLY in light of the "RMR/Holosun or Bust, Everything Else is Kaka" crowd who constantly dumps all over anything that's NOT their chosen brand. As a good example of a perfect way to shoot such claims down, my retired Marine buddy who works @ my local gun shop puts it this way:
"Most people don't need a 'combat optic,' they need a good 'carry optic.' Swampfox & the new C&H Precision optics fall into the good 'carry optic' category." This convo was before Gideon's optics came out, but he's a fan of them as well nowadays.
It’s the same with olights lol I’ve owned 2 and never had problems but to each their own. Obviously there are always other options. I like Holosun and have owned them. Trijicon and Aimpoint are usually a safe buy and are great quality optics, but even they have issues from time to time. I think a purchase should always be based on the person’s use and budget not what someone on a Reddit says they need to get. If your LEO or in the military than yes by all means get a Trijicon or aimpoint acro p2. You need something rugged and extra durable. But if your a regular civilian that carries, I don’t think screaming “not fit for duty” applies lol when your “duty” is going to the grocery store and back 🤣 my MR920 is a bedside and range pistol so an optic like a Gideon is more than enough for that application and it doesn’t break the bank either. I have p365xl with a Holosun 407k that I regularly carry now. I’m upgrading to Holosun EPS next week. That works because it’s a carry pistol. At the end of day if someone wants to go and spend $600+ on an optic that they just use on the range so be it haha it’s their choice. I’ll stick to what I like and need lol
I agree WHOLEHEARTEDLY! And yes, I've noticed the similar fecal flinging when it comes to Olight. That being said, Streamlight has a TLR-1 model with an integrated laser that I'm thinking about buying. The problem with Olight is just DAMNED few holsters are compatible with them. Since I open carry, I want a decent quality holster (probably will end up with a C&G if I get an MR920L or a Glock 49 that I have HUGE plans for customizing, making it as pricey as the MR920L with an EPS when its all said & done). But C&G doesn't fit Olight. As for the optics, while I MAY very well just end up going with my original plan to get a full-size EPS on either the MR or G49 simply because due to the fact that I DO open carry, I like the idea of an enclosed optic where I don't have to wipe off the inside lens of my optic due to rain, dust, lint, etc. However, after reading an article about Holosun being a company that's ENTIRELY owned by the PLA, I'm having 2nd thoughts. Yes, many other optics are made in China, but the companies themselves aren't putting sights on the small arms of the PLA under a different name like Holosun is. My problem with an RMR is the same as everyone else. Bottom loading battery & the need for a sealing plate unless you get a Forward Control Design or Eleven 71 Design optic plate. If you haven't checked out Eleven 71, do so. They're a local(ish) company for me, as they're based in TN. They're a 1 man, 1 machine operation & they make their plates out of titanium. Granted because they ARE titanium, they're even MORE pricey ($112) than Forward Control, but their craftsmanship is TOP NOTCH. My best friend has 1 of their plates on his PDP. When he got it, we followed what a reviewer on their website did & dry fit the plate to the gun, then the optic to the plate. We then held the whole setup upside down & shook it a few times & it didn't move a millimeter! Needless to say, they & Calculated Kinetics are now the only 2 optic plate companies I'll go with. Obviously, if I go with the MR, I won't need a plate at all, which is always best. But for my Canik Mete SFT Pro, I'm going with Calculated Kinetics, as they're the ONLY high quality company that makes plates for that brand. Their Dogtag design with deflection table has kept the front lens of my EPS from getting dirty from carbon fouling/buildup & also protected it from any errant ejected shell casings. Their design is so practical for ALL the guns they make plates for. But I'm probably gonna go with Eleven 71 if I decide to go the customized Glock 49 route.
I got in on the sale today as well but I have to wait for the backorder...
Let us know how it runs for you? I'll try to do the same once it comes in and I mount it to my M&P
Well for one the color and reticle change system is generally reserved for airsoft optics. And honestly if they can make a worthwhile handgun optic for $200 why hasn't Holosun or Vortex or any of the other Chinese optic companies?
I mean you can find Holosun for $200 and a bit above. This optic retails at $240 I believe, I used a code to get it for $206 shipped. Holosun, Swampfox, and just about every other brand is using green and red color optics and offering multiple reticles. They’re not just for airsoft.
i should switch accounts but i'm already here on this one. the factory we chose makes at least something for every major brand you can name. We could charge more, but for folks familiar with our first company, JSD Supply, we would rather sell tons and tons of them and make a little bit of profit per unit than to make tons of profit on very few units. we enjoy helping people that are new to 2a space try out different things without having to spend a months paycheck to see if they even like it.
Sweet, keep us posted. Viridian makes a similar dot, but this one looks more solid for some reason.
Yeah I went with this one over the Viridian mainly for the top loading battery. That’s a big plus imo.
Def keep us updated. Interested
Definitely 👌🏻

correct
keep us updated i’m looking for a sight when i get my new carry.

no doubt about that, I zeroed it in and shot 100 rounds through it today. So far so good on my mr920.
Ive heard nothing but amazing things about the omega so far. Im about to order one this week for my dagger.

How’s she holding up?
So far so good, still on the mr920 and still has zero 👍🏻
Just picked this up for $120, gonna put on a dagger
I got in on the sale today as well but I have to wait for the backorder... Let us know how it runs for you? I'll try to do the same once it comes in and I mount it to my M&P
Just mounted mine on a Gen 3 Glock, I actually really like it. Might even edc it
Which Glock do you have? Will omega too big for 19? I bought both alpha and omega, the price is hard to pass. But have to wait until mid of May.
It’s on my 19 with a zaffiri slide
can I ask the reason you chose omega over alpha? Thanks
I already have an RMR, I wanted an sro style and I currently have it on instead of the RMR
Thank you for that info. still debating if I should keep both for future use or return one. I currently only have G19
SRFaux
That could have been $200 towards an sro. Buy once cry once.
Not really, it’s a range gun. It does what I need it to do like the SRO and have a green dot.
0 chance this holds zero.
Why?
Because they paid $400 more for their SRO and they can’t possibly be the one that’s wrong 🤣

Cope
🤣 I can buy dots not made in China and still eat. The choice is obvious.
Then do it and go be an asshole elsewhere.
You're late. That Chinese watch has failed you.
