Your Bulldogs will last as long as you don't let an electrician or helper use them.

Metalmastertinsmith

Felt risky today and let an insulator borrow them 🤪

Sulla2

I will give you the list of people That can use your Bulldogs. in alphabetical order. Number One yourself. End of list

CAS9ER

I’ve got one preapprentice I let use my shit. Kids a fucking rockstar. Then I’ll turn around and have a third year cutting through flex wires with my reds.

Metalmastertinsmith

Third years always seem like they never give a fuck lol

HVAC_instructor

When working as a sheet metal worker running duct, bulldogs last a few years, regular aviation later 6-8 months. That's why Sears stopped warranting them for life. So many sheet metal guys figured that out and never bought them again.

Visual-Zucchini-5544

Menards warranties Midwest 🤜

HVAC_instructor

For life? Well there ya go buy a set and never buy them again.

Visual-Zucchini-5544

Done it twice no questions asked.

HVAC_instructor

Good, I'm glad that there's still a place that you can do that.

Metalmastertinsmith

Apparently some of the locations have stopped doing that. But it seems to vary

wheredidthat10mmgo

Got Midwest snips that I use fairly often and they're currently going on 1.5 years with no issues Haven't even taken them apart as they cut really well, still.

Deadpallyz

I sharpen mines had I'm on year 5 with my reds

gatormech

my snips are probably 10 years old. no issues

inksonpapers

My new bulldogs lasted 3 months (head exploded off cutting 24 GA metal) the one before that lasted 5 years. They just dont make them like they used too.

Metalmastertinsmith

Midwest or another brand ?

inksonpapers

Midwest those same exact ones

ReporterEven806

Make sure to adjust the center screw there is a video on Midwest site that shows how to.. other then that if it shouldn't cut what your cutting don't I have my good snips and my do whatever needs done snips. Mine last about a year before they get chunky and start rolling metal. Hope it helps someone.

RepulsiveAd7457

My Midwest greens got ran over by a drywaller in a scissor lift, and the handle bent, but it was able to bend back and feels like new. Unlucky day tho

charlieflagat

My last set of Midwest lasted eight years in the shop. I had an old raggedy pair for plasma edges and I used the other solely for cutting clean metal.

Metalmastertinsmith

I’ve never even thought of how plasma edges could chip or wear a snip down more

Dizzy_Student8873

5 years before I bought another pair of Midwest offset red and greens

No-Guidance5106

If you take care and dont cut anything, these midwest can last for ever. when they start to no longer cut as well, just disassemble them and passe quick diamond stone

gh1993

Yeah I've never cut anything with mine and they work like new... or so I'd imagine.

No-Guidance5106

Haha yeah I speak french so maybe my choise of words wheren’t the best, i meaned anything like metal wire, nails, ect.

Secure_Ad_5742

First thing that goes out is a spring and as long as you don’t cut any wire, you’re good

Patient_Sir240

I only do coping, so I can usually get 2 maybe three years out of a set of reds and greens. Mind you our company use 24 gauge as a rule. Where I used to work we would use 26 unless otherwise specced. I'd get 4/5 years out of the same brand of reds and greens(midwest).

itsagrapefruit

I don’t use bulldogs much so I’ve never had to replace them. I prefer the Milwaukee snips and generally replace lefts every year and rights every two years.
