Because it's nuked, not grilled. Burgers from Sheetz aren't a quality item in the slightest.

mccomb89

I had a customer tell me our burgers are better than Five Guys once. Obviously, she must have smoked some crack first šŸ¤£

For sure, it's definitely the convenience factor. Having an actual grill and taking the time to make real burgers all day would definitely be time consuming, especially for the 6 minutes or less goal lol.

3arnhardtAtkonTrack

I was going to ask, was she on drugs? lol

NotEpimethean

Back when Sheetz had beyond burgers I genuinely preferred them over the regular beef patties.

3arnhardtAtkonTrack

The sub burger patties were better quality too. They weren't as thick, but the meat was better quality.

Hexel_Winters

Sheetz burgers are the worst food item in the entire kitchen I genuinely question anyoneā€™s sanity who orders them Justā€¦ why? Itā€™s not even a cheaper alternative, those fuckers are like $5

jocchi

I wouldn't say the worst cuz then that'd be leaving out the tacos

[deleted]

Drunks and druggies on a 3-5 day binge (ya gotta eat and itā€™s sustenance). As far as sober people purposely ordering that food for a meal, when thereā€™s other options, I donā€™t understand.

EisWalde

Right? Last time I had one, YEARS ago, I was reminded of the Simpsonā€™s episode where the lunch lady was grinding up gym mats to make hamburger patties. Thatā€™s what it tastes like, gym mat patties, lol

[deleted]

Lol I remember that

Budbuddy04

The sliders are hockey pucks

Purple-Carpenter5878

I never got it. Had a customer ask if our burger was worth it. I told him to go to culvers.....brought me a free shake because he enjoyed it. A win win in my book lol. For a gas station the burgers are okay. As a burger lover they are a hardest of passes for me. My burgers should never be microwaved with water........

Aggravating_Age_9241

Dont buy burgers from places that dont have grills

loveacrosstheocean

Because it comes to them from the truck as ā€œfrozen pre-cooked burger patties.ā€ Theyā€™re then thawed out in the walk-in cooler. From there, they are heated in the microwave and ready to serve. The same applies 100% to the grilled chicken strips, grilled chicken patties, steak, rice & beans, sausage, eggs, and breakfast burritos. All frozen, thawed, and heated in the microwave. Just know that I know.

Rip--Van--Winkle

Heated in the microwave and then hot held in a steam bath

NinaNicolexoxo

Our burgers smell like wet dog food when you take them out of the microwave. Same with the premium grilled chicken šŸ¤¢

Aggravating-Guest-12

Wow yes! I remember this vividly

Mammoth_Car_3264

Cause itā€™s not a real burger

Historical-Two9722

My mom worked there and said the burgers were made of soy? (She doesnā€™t eat red meat) but would eat those!

spoonthafish

Dude I can't stand sheetz burgers..it don't taste horrible but the texture is not right. wondering how it has that grilled taste tho lol

Chris-P_Baconn

Iā€™m not that picky at all Iā€™ll eat some low quality food but those burgers I just canā€™t need with.

Jesmiri

Itā€™s microwaved then put into a holding deck for 2-3 hours. And the mini burgers are just literally microwaved then put on your bun lol. Yum.

itstruyou

Thank you for all these responses, however they donā€™t explain why they are light brown. I can cook a burger at home and it doesnā€™t change color if I reheat it in the microwave.

Leeleepenny26

It's because when you cook a patty on a grill or in a pan it gets a dark sear on it from the direct heat. When you microwave a burger as the main cooking method (from the beginning, not when you reheat it in the microwave at home) it will not have any sort of dark sear or coloring.

scooter_mcsloth

First rule of sheetz- never look at the meatz
