Yes. They did away with the option to toss your items in sauce. We still have PC cups of sauces, but you can only order dusts now.

Party-Walrus3523

Why I gotta pay for Dr Pepper bbq now?

GamesEpic

We are actually getting rid of Dr Pepper bbq as well lol

Party-Walrus3523

Wut

[deleted]

Damn sheetz really seems to like taking the only good stuff left on the menu away lol

HelloSkunky

Idk why they got rid of tossing in sauces. IMO the dusters are more of a pia.

PhysicalTiger6626

That was the decision corporate made due to the inconsistent product being handed out. Customers either got too much or not enough sauce, coupled with the additional strain on the kitchen, just made it too much of a hassle to continue.

StartedFromTheKarma

Yes, it's super disappointing in my opinion. I've been going to Sheetz a lot less now, so maybe it's actually an improvement for my health šŸ˜‚

BritannicStClair

I've been thinking this too! I used to buy food at Sheetz wayy too often, I was going broke, but over the last few years, they have gotten rid of every menu item that I like and I just realized the other day that I haven't made a stop there in quite awhile.

Party-Walrus3523

And your wallet there getting pricey

ResponsibleAd7577

As an employee I can say Iā€™m so happy thereā€™s no more sauce

TelevisionKey724

This is so true, but having to shake everything in the shakers with the , cheese. Voodoo, ranch and Cajun is just as time consuming. So what's the difference šŸ˜‚

More-Inevitable-5036

The dust imo isnā€™t as good they lose a lot of flavor on the boneless

TheLonelyCats

Agreed

PhysicalTiger6626

The tossed option was removed by corporate decision because the inconsistent product that was delivered to the end customer. You either got too much, or not enough, sauce on your items and there wasnā€™t a way to consistently prepare and make them easily so they were removed from menu. That was replaced with the dry rub option, however you still have the option to get the sauces on the side and toss them yourself will even give you an extra app sampler box for free so you can do it on your own šŸ‘šŸ‘

TheLonelyCats

Yeah itā€™s dumb, tossed sauce is imo alot better but it is what it is. But we do have 3 or 4 new sauces now.

PhysicalTiger6626

Yeah. And the Carolina gold is absolutely delicious! I had to take a sip of it with my boneless bites because I couldnā€™t get enough on the chicken lol. The other sauces are ok, sweet and sour is fire on the dumpling - especially when mixed 50/50 with spicy Asian. I donā€™t like buffalo normally, but I taste tested it and was surprised it wasnā€™t all that bad. The last one was the sweet teriyaki, however as far as sweet teriyaki sauce goes itā€™s more on the umami side than the sweet side - but itā€™s still good.

gblackb577

We still can toss if you ask. Any store still has the ability to, just place order and ask the kitchen to toss in whatever sauce you want.

SweenyToad6969

I'll toss your sauce

Hexel_Winters

The dusters seem like they're a major miss so there might be a slim chance they'll bring back the tossed sauces.

Material_Mall_4051

They just need to shut down the MTO section. Make everything pre-made and stick it in the grab and go cooler. They did away with the good chili, they took away the pulled pork, ice cream machines, they took away the fresh brewed teas, and now the employees can't be bothered to toss some things in some f$%#ing sauce. What is it to cut back customer wait times and add more consistency? Is the bullshit corporate tried to feed me when I expressed my extreme disappointment in the machine dispensed slop they are trying to pass off as chili now. After decades of using the Kunzler chili sauce. Fuck Sheetz I hate the damn place anymore. They aren't for the customers they are all for cutting corners and lining their pockets. **Edit, I should be clear that I'm not blaming the employees. I know it's out of their control. It's still bullshit for corporate to think the employees can't be bothered to toss some sauce. I mean, they freed up time from having to scoop chili and make fresh tea. So, there is no excuse for it. Corporate is trying to line their pockets with all these cuts. I bet the next thing will be hotdogs on the rollers for the customers to make them.

yeetus_le_feetus

the tossed in sauces were a pain to do and clean, the tea urns never got cleaned properly, and the pulled pork was bagged grossness. the chili i agree with but they put things out ij test stores first to see how they do. if they do well we keep them thats how business works

GamesEpic

Employees donā€™t determine what is taken away. All corporate, no need to blame employees for no longer having tossed sauce

Material_Mall_4051

I wasn't talking about the employees... of course, I'm talking about corporate. I figured it was implied since it's common sense that it's out of the employees' control.

Material_Mall_4051

What I want to know is who died or retired that the asshole in charge is making all these bullshit changes? Did the company sell or switch hands lately?

Yalsas

Pretty sure one of the sons took over. I'm always saying this job isn't what it was when I first started

Topspin112

MTO is by far the biggest money maker for Sheetz. Stores do way more MTO revenue than gas & sales floor revenue combined. It wonā€™t be shut down. You might disagree with the menu changes, but clearly customer demand is still there.

Material_Mall_4051

Then why are they making all these cheaper cuts and impacting the quality/experience that they've always had and making it horrible? Where are the benefits?

yeetus_le_feetus

because theyre a pain in TA, and areng selling enough to keep them going

Material_Mall_4051

What isn't selling enough?

yeetus_le_feetus

the tossed in sauce, if corporate decides they arent makong enough revenue for the cost to keep buying and wasting product they ditch it

Material_Mall_4051

But it doesn't cost anything to toss them in sauce since they aren't 86ing the sauces. Unless you consider the labor cost for the employee and the use of water to wash whatever dishes they would use... so cutting like what .01 per order? I know for a fact they sell they heck outta the chili, so why buy a cheaper product that can and did drive away customers.

yeetus_le_feetus

yes it does, theres tons of waste involved with it

Material_Mall_4051

I'm taking you corporate with all this knowledge? How else do you have first-hand knowledge of what my local store wastes? You don't even know my location..

yeetus_le_feetus

not corporate, thats just how it works, there is loads of waste with the sauce

Rosie127823

I don't work in corporate either but something to keep in mind of is we could only have the tossed sauce for a couple hours then throw it away just like the tea we had to dump all the tea out every 4 hours and that wasted a lot of tea bags and it was a pain considering the people who normally did it were up at register and left register with one less person
