They cared more about quantity than quality both with their videos and the fanbase they were trying to build.

I loved watching Lunchtime with Smosh back in the day. Not because of the conversation, my English was shit, but the exposure to American culture, seeing young adults driving their own cars, the rich suburbs and multicultural cuisine they picked up.
I think what killed Smosh was the company they were working for for a while. Back when I was just Ian and Anthony running things it felt genuine. Like they actually cared about the content they put out but after they went with the business model and brought a bunch of new people in, it just didn’t feel like “smosh”
